This is a premium laptop starting right off at the packaging. The unit itself goes beyond a great box, thankfully.
I have had about 4 weeks of usage and spoiler alert I can find only one thing wrong, the keyboard is not lighted.. It is something you don't notice much like how vacuum cleaner manufacturers stopped putting lights on the power heads until just recently they started again.
I won't bore you by regurgitating the specs on this monster, they are widely published and you can surely find them on the Best Buy site and even compare to others.
I was not sure about the leather case/cover as opposed to the normal aluminum casing. I however have grown used to it and now almost prefer it. The ability to flip the screen to a stand position and then into full tablet mode is awesome. That being said screen performance is excellent albeit a little sensitive to glare.
Battery usage is excellent, I have been able to stream 3.5 plus hours of movies while multi-tasking. You are able to adapt any media/device thanks to the three USB c outlets and USB adapter that comes with the package. The AC adapter is compact 65 W with a three prong (grounded) plug and anti tangle sheathed cord to the laptop. Also included is a stylus which opens up this laptop to all sorts of creative abilities.
Don't let the cover fool you, this is a great laptop. I would not hesitate to purchase over any other brand.

The ECOVACS Robotics - DEEBOT N79SE was a nice surprise at this price point. I have experience with other models and this one does some things very well.
Set up is easy you just have to know if you have a 2.4ghz or 5ghz wi-fi set up. This is not compatible with 5ghz and that usually is the setup issue people have. The app is very user friendly and has a host of useful features. Consumable usage was the new one from the others for me. It will tell you when you need to change your brushes and filter. The app also allows you to schedule clean times and remotely operate the vacuum.
Operationally there are 4 modes, Auto, Edge, Spot and Single Room. Auto is pretty simple it automatically cleans the entire area you allow it access to using a random pattern. Edge, only cleans the outer edge of the room. Spot is a manually placement then it circles out from that spot and finally single room as long as you block its access from other areas.
I tested both standard and max cleaning power settings. Standard is less noisy and will clean longer but I find the max setting is the optimal setting. I set it to clean while I am either asleep on the second floor or while I am gone during the day. Both run the possible risk of the unit getting stuck (more on that later) and you either wake up to or come home to an incomplete clean. That is an easy enough fix, help it out and let it continue on. Like I said I’m willing to risk it for the extra cleaning power.
I purposely spread those annoying cut outs people put in cards and small lego pieces to see what this thing could do. It had no problems with either except the cut outs apparently have pretty good staying power on shag area rugs. The dust bin is a decent size and if you empty it regularly every couple of days it seems to be a good schedule. I have a Labrador Retriever and it handles shorter hair (lots of it) with no issues so far. I find if I empty the bin every other day that is enough to stay on top of it.
The Deebot navigates back to the base using radio signal. I just discovered LED bulbs among other things can and will interfere with that signal so the base placement may take some extra tries. If you find it is having difficulty move the base and try again. I sat and watched the Deebot navigate almost my entire first floor trying to find the base like a drunk guy who took an Uber to the bar looking for his car. I also have had to un-wedge this several times from under the couch, it really wants to get under there. Dinning room chairs also seem to be a nemesis for the Deebot. Although there is waste in its methods, those are minor annoyances to an otherwise great set up. If the Deebot does not “finish” it will return, charge and resume.
I would recommend this unit in the bot vacuum world.

Smart home devices eventually will “probably” be all compatible but for now the war is on. I have another brand I am deep into so I was disappointed the bulbs would not seamlessly integrate with my existing hub. I suspect once you choose a brand you are stuck until everyone plays nice. What this really comes down to is an app and features contained within.
That being said I set up the Sengled hub and loaded yet another app on my phone. I paired them with my Google Home Hub and started playing around. The color and brightness are very good. Options for timing exist but routines and colors are not able to be set (unless I missed it.). I did learn from reading another review there is a good YOU TUBE channel out there for this product.
The app is a bit quirky, not as intuitive perhaps because I am so used to another one. I did find naming the bulbs is very important in as the app will not tell you which bulbs are running from which hub if you have multiple. I also did find you can use voice commands for colors.
I am a fan but already too engrained in another platform, however that does not mean I wouldn’t recommend. I like these and since the app can be updated with firmware more improvements will come.

For not being a Chromebook fan this unit has won me over. I never liked them regardless of the brand because the build always seemed disappointing no matter the performance. This is reminiscent of a HP Spectre in terms of build/design.
The specs you can look up, suffice it to say the hardware is all you need for the applications. I was multitasking, writing and watching Netflix while I wrote this and never lagged on me. I loaded it up with a lot of trivial apps that would run in the background as well. Despite what I have read I find no shortage of apps for Chromebook’s in general. I synced my account and loaded Microsoft Office and put it to a test.
I like the layout, usb and usbc ports on both sides given the blue tooth capability many units are not including both or many of either. The keyboard is crisp and functional having a standard layout less the numerical pad. The screen is large enough to watch movies and see detail, nice resolution. The speakers are on the top, really not any studio type quality but will due in the absence of quality headphones unless the audio track makes the movie. There is a slot to expand the memory via SD card if needed. If you are storing things on local memory you are missing the boat and intent of units with limited storage.
It is as travel friendly as any other 14” laptop/tablet out there. I sat it on top of my new HP Spectre convertible for a comparison. You can use this in traditional lap top mode or the hinges allow tablet mode.
Because I can access all my other docs and what not through Google and MS One Drive this is absolutely a solid short-term replacement for my laptop. Not having all the bells and whistles (stylus, resolution etc..) of the more expensive units would still prevent it being a true replacement for me.
I am thumbs up and would recommend this unit for what it is.

Great if you don't need ethernet flexibility

First let’s start out with this system will not make your ISP faster, this is about delivering that signal wirelessly to you. I’m using this system in a two story plaster and brick home, about 2200 sq ft and this unit covers all three floors (upstairs, main floor and basement) very well. I even get great signal in my back yard because of node placement.
With the Velop, the main router is an AC2200, while the remote notes are smaller wall plug-in AC1300 models. I only mention this because failure of the main unit the AC1300 units will not support your network alone.
The main router (AC2200) has dual ethernet ports, the AC1300 models do not. Something to consider based on where the main unit will be located and how many ethernet items you may have to connect. This is a very simple problem to solve with a hub, just FYI.
Setting up the Velop Mesh easy, first install the Linksys App on your phone, create an account if you don’t already have one then follow the prompts. Ittook me about 13 minutes start to activated. Setting up the guest access was just as simple. A little hand holding may be required for some devices dependent upon your old wireless system.
Some other features include Parental Controls and Device Prioritization. I did use Device Prioritization to give phone and laptop improved bandwidth, handy if you have kids that stream a lot. From my old system to the VELOP Mesh I saw improved speed and no incompatibilities. The only complaint I have is the lack of ethernet ports on the AC1300 nodes. If you don’t need them, this is the system to go with. If you do need them VELOP does have a system with three AC2200 nodes that all have ethernet ports.

This is a great “big” oven, to call it a toaster oven is an injustice. Seriously though before you purchase make sure you have the room to either leave it out on the counter or store it somewhere with easy access. Before opening I taped out the dimensions on the countertop, something to consider. The directions also have you, before initial use, run the oven to burn off any protective coatings on the interior metal surfaces. I recommend doing this under your range hood our in a protected area outside if possible.
There are several custom settings from cookies to pizza and a convection setting that pretty much cover all the bases. While this won’t replace your normal oven/range it is a nice alternative. The unit heats up very quickly, from off to 350 in under 3.5 minutes. The LCD display is easy to read and well lit. The knobs and functions are pretty intuitive but as always the instruction book will make sure you get the best usage.
So far, we have done pizza, cookies, chicken, biscuits, salmon and of course toast. Overall cooking was pretty even, in the case of pizza the top of the pepperoni burned a little bit but with a time adjustment that was resolved. Cookies came out great, only down side is capacity versus our normal oven. Chicken and salmon came out great, we tinkered with convection settings which worked equally as well and cut overall cooking time. Biscuits again came out great.
The unit gets hot, something to think about when considering placement. Because of power requirements you will want an outlet that is dedicated to usage i.e don’t use an outlet that is already overloaded.
This is a great kitchen tool to supplement a stove or microwave, I would recommend.

I refuse in most cases to read instructions, the Shark passed the test out of the box assembly was no problem, everything fit intuitively. Build quality is also good, I wasn’t able to break anything by not reading the directions. After 2 weeks of use no malfunctions or quirks.
At just over 16lbs it is not feather light but once you separate the cannister it is plenty light enough to do what a 2-in1 vacuum does best. Getting to anything over my head (I’m 6’) does require some strength but this would be true with any vacuum style. The articulating dusting tool is a great idea and makes those tough angles a bit easier. Likewise, the motorized pet tool works great on stairs and upholstery.
I really like the lights, funny but lights are one of those things that seemed to have disappeared over the years and we just got used to it. This unit brings back the lights and it really does make a big difference, now I can see there is no dirt left behind. The other very nice addition to this Shark is the 30’ chord, again one of those things we forgot about but a great feature.
There are three power levels you can choose from bare floor, low pile, thick pile, these adjust brush speed and suction. The Zero-M technology isn’t just a gimmick, it really does prevent hair from wrapping around the roller brush. We have this one rug that forever has me cutting stuff off the brush, I won that war.
Maneuverability is a decent thanks the Active Glide technology, neither my wife nor I have a problem. That said you have to put some effort into it but the roller brushes help on the forward motion, on the return it takes some effort but you also have to consider the cleaning power you are getting. This is not your grandma’s cannister vacuum.
Speaking of suction, this thing won that war. The only complaint I have, which is an odd one to have about a vacuum, is the suction. No more vacuuming small throw rugs unless you have someone to stand on the outer edges. However, if you do have some help it will be the cleanest throw rug you have ever had. I have tinkered with adjusting the power, opening the vent to reduce suction and had pretty good luck on my own. One other minor area of concern is tool storage, not enough room on-board to store all the tools.
Everything comes apart easily, including accessing the roller. The dust bin isn’t as large as a bag vacuum an does need to be emptied regularly, luckily it is very easy to do so. The power button took some time to get used to, not highly tactile but after a couple of uses I’m over it. Filter access is also easy and I like he option of a filter you can wash. My experience tells me however replacement is always a better option after some time.
All things considered this is a great vacuum, even in comparison to other bag-less 2-in-1 options out there.

This thing is one of if not the coolest electric kitchen appliances I have used recently. It is a combination pressure cooker/oven. The unit heats up quickly but remains safe to its surroundings. It vents out the back and has a liquid collection bin on the back.
You have to read the instruction manual, no questions here. It also comes with a quick reference card and recipe booklet. The attached top is for the oven cooking feature and uses an electric element and fan (on some settings). The secondary top is to use it as a pressure cooker. Included also is a basket to cook a single meal in the same pot. The maid pot is ceramic coated for durability. When using the crisping feature there is a no-stick basket which really works well. The only concern I have is the detachable feet on that basket. They are made of some sort of heat resistant plastic material and after repeated use I can see them becoming brittle. Luckily, I have some experience with Ninja customer service which has always been excellent.
I have cooked several chickens in this unit, first pressure cooking for 18 minutes, then air crisping for 15 minutes. They are perfect, just as good as any other rotisserie chicken I have ever had. I have also made several other “boxed” snacks which you would customarily deep fry or cook in the oven. All of them have come out crispy and without all the grease. French fries misted with a little vegetable oil are great. As a pressure cooker it will replace the unit I have.
The only drawback is the size, you will need space to store this if you don’t want it on your counter. The extra top will take up even more space so be prepared. It is easily moved, not too heavy and has built in handles on the sides.
I would highly recommend this unit, excellent time saver and all around useful appliance.

Good, but not enough to make me change....

The Philips S-9000 comes with a good travel case, cleaning brush, charger and trimmer attachment. I immediately liked the feel of the S9000 in my hand. Having used a Philips/Norelco rotary before I was accustomed to the feel although the ergonomics are way better with the new handle and head design. I used this for a few days regularly then grew out some serious stubble to put it to the test.
Day to day use was good, although I feel there are better electric razors out there for the money. This seemed to be a little rough in places my other electric is not. I just prefer the linear blade models and still do. It did take care of some serious stubble however I just don’t think it is as close of a shave as my usual. I will say with the rotary blades you really don’t have to pay much attention to the directional growth of your hair necessarily. So you are free to just go in small circles.
The trimmer is not integrated into the unit so you have to remove the razor head and put on the trimmer. Not a big fan of this, one more thing to keep track of and adds to the size of the travel case. The trimmer itself works well though. All things considered it is effective at what it does but not enough to make me change models. I would recommend trying it out.

I have had about 3 weeks to view and work with this panel. As other reviewers have noted there is no gama adjustment but that can be solved through your GPU.
I have had mine mounted on the stand and recently moved to a VESA mount, much better! There is, although slight, a little loss in color and picture quality when viewed at more than 30 degrees. I'm not sure if this is a setting issue or just the panel build?
The number of ports is adequate and I have seen very little picture quality change between HDMI and display port which is good.
I love the size and built in color adjustment options. Build quality is good and the monitor is pleasing to the eye. I would recommend, particularly if on sale as compared to other monitors in this size range

Out of the box easy set up and ACER has some good apps to offer.
Temper the following PROS and CONS with the price.

I first loaded it the same way my phone was set up. It seemed very, very slow. I then reset it and set it up as a new device, a little better as it was now set up like a tablet. The touch screen seemed to be iffy at times. This is not a fast tablet, it often has to think for several seconds before it does what you command, it only has 1 GB RAM which always seems to be at capacity. I connected to my network late at night when usage was non-existent, still slow as compared to other devices. I find the battery life to be lacking compared to "fruit" products, no experience with other android tablets. ACER claims 10 hours, even at medium use I doubt it would get me there. Good thing is you are never far from a USB outlet.
I would consider this for a kids first tablet, by kid standards these days 5 and under. It just can't compete with some of the other tablets for an adult for few hundred dollars more.

After some additional experience I can't recommend this tablet. It continues to be so slow it is irritating to use. The ACER bloatware is not giving errors and shutting down. Although the price makes this attractive look elsewhere.

I have the 300 soundbar with wireless woofer and mids. Is the 700 soundbar compatible?
All things equal (add ons and room set up) the 700 is superior as a main AV Theatre system. The 300 is a great system, especially if you have limited space and a smaller budget.

No, this is a stand alone unit that connects to a TV. You can use as a smart control device an speaker only with no TV connection.

I live in a rural area where my Verizon cell service is sketchy at best. I DO NOT have any capability of downloading a phone app for setup without WiFi access. Am I reading correctly that there is no way to set these up with a wired Ethernet connection?
Correct, the app is the only way to set it up.

Will these still be secure in their noise cancellation even when you wear glasses? The bow of my glasses it pretty thick and I notice some noise cancellation is compromised with the wearing of my glasses with the QC35II I wear now.
I wear Oakley black framed glasses, the frame is somewhat thick and I have had no problems. The foam pieces are almost like a memory foam and squish around them pretty snuggly.

I just asked and the assistant said "yes, I speak French". Then I asked in French and she replied in French...

Does this model pick up pet hair?
Absolutely, I have a blonde Labrador Retriever and her job lately has been to shed. I run my vac bot twice a day on a schedule and I have yet to come home to any hair on the carpet.
