Journey: Collector's Edition features flOw, Flower and Journey packed together and available as a retail hard copy. These are three critically acclaimed and award winning games made exclusively for the PS3 by thatgamecompany (TGC), and were long considered among the best the PSN had to offer before being available in disc form.
I don't like to really consider these offerings "games", as I feel they are more experiences which transcend typical video game barriers. Playing flOw, Flower and Journey is not really about winning or losing. You don't have to trudge from level to level following a linear path, nor do you have to ever worry about a HUD or competing against anyone else. You simply pick up your controller, get immersed and play.
It's a real treat to play these games and see how far TGC has come as a developer over the six year span between the three titles. I don't know if there is such thing as achieving "perfection" as a game developer, but from flOw (2006) to Flower (2009) to Journey (2012), TGC has, in my humble opinion, come as close to it as possible. Flower and Journey especially were two releases which really helped shift the entire industry's views on what a "downloadable game" was, is and has the potential to be.
It's hard to imagine how titles which emphasize a completely minimalistic approach can invoke any actual emotion from the gamer, but TGC has managed to do it with these titles. When playing Flower and swirling through the air while bringing old windmills to life and reviving fields, a peaceful happiness took over me and all the stresses of the world temporarily melted away. In Journey, I've never felt so desperate in wanting a character to succeed and watching microorganism evolution in flOw left me in a zen-like state of focus and fascination.
Simply put: If you own a PS3, do yourself a favor and take some time to appreciate these three incredible pieces of art.

A solid keyboard and great accessory for the iMac

As an everyday keyboard, this more than does the trick. Typing and navigation of the keys are both very smooth, and button response time is great as well. The color scheme is also easy on the eyes and matches perfectly with the iMac computers. For those who work with data entry, having the numeric keypad is a very useful tool.
Also featured is a backspace key which deletes characters to the cursor's left; a useful function not found on the Apple wireless keyboard.
For some, this keyboard being wired may be a deal-breaker, but I don't mind it at all. I will never have to worry about replacing or recharging separate batteries to operate it, and as someone who only types at the desk, being connected to the iMac doesn't restrict or bother me. As it is connected to the actual iMac, you won't be able to power on the computer using the keyboard, but this doesn't really matter for me personally.
Overall, the Apple keyboard with numeric keypad is a great accessory for the iMac.

One of the best games of 2011 at a bargain price

When Batman: Arkham City was released in late 2011, it took the gaming world by storm and offered up not only a fantastic sequel to 2009's breakout "Arkham Asylum", but one of the best games of the year.
In May 2012, the Game Of The Year (GOTY) edition of Arkham City was released loaded with bonus content. With it being at such a great price now, there is no reason not to give it a try and see what all the hype is about.
The gameplay is butter smooth, and racking up bone-breaking combos while playing as The Dark Knight is one of the highlights of the Arkham City experience. Furthermore, there is a massive open world to explore, complete with loads of fan service and surprises around every corner. A multitude of puzzles and unlocks scattered throughout the dystopian city give the game a healthy amount of replay value in lieu of an online multiplayer component.
The story is very easy to follow, even for gamers who don't know much at all about Batman. However, there are plenty of little nods and winks that hardcore caped crusader fans will appreciate. Throughout the single player campaign you'll experience ups, downs, twists and turns which ultimately lead to a satisfying conclusion.
Like its predecessor, the graphics, audio and overall presentation here are unmatched when it comes to superhero games. Aside from having a remarkable level of polish, Arkham City also has a very grimy, gritty feel that creates an ambiance that brings the environments to life.
In an unfortunate era of quick movie tie-in cash grabs, it's hard to find a decent superhero game these days, let alone one that ranks as one of the best releases of this generation. However, Arkham City GOTY Edition was up to the challenge, and passed with high marks.
