It's the Generic alternative to Google home

The Insignia portable speaker is basically the Generic alternative to the original Google Home. It is very similar size and a very close design. The Google Home and Insignia are pretty much fraternal twins.... what sets the Insignia apart is the permanent clock display and intermittent temperature display which is a great added bonus for a smart home assistant.
The sound is great for the size of the speaker, the far field voice detection works very well, and it is aesthetically pleasing as a décor piece. I love that I am able to connect the Insignia to my Google Home group to play music throughout the house on all the speakers.
The touch sensitive controls on top of the speaker also are very nice as they light up when you get close to pressing before you actually touch the speaker.
Overall, this is a great option to add to your Google home accessories to control lights, thermostat, smart plugs, stream music, and be a quick informative assistant in your smart home.

Another great hue light

The e12 bulb is another great addition if you have a Phillip hue entourage in your home. I use it for the bedroom reading lamps and adds a great versatile mood and Instant light setting. The bulb however is a little larger than the traditional candelera bulb but I can live with that because of the functionality with my google home. Makes for a futuristic feel of a smart home. Truly love it. Just wish the price point was a little lower.

It's Adobe, never disappointed...

Ok, it's another Adobe video editing product... Adobe never disappoints in my honest opinion. With this new Elements 2018 software you can expect the usual video editing tools and timeline. It provides all the basics for the novice video editor or weekend hobbyist. Just make sure you have all the required specs on your PC or Mac to handle all the editing or you will get lag or bogged down while making an extended story line. It does provide a new organizational feature for your videos but it is very similar to the iPhoto library with dates, albums, favorites, ect...
The one thing that I really like is the guided edits which there are several to choose to from which makes creating a quick story line to share very easy and pretty much does the work for you. Some may think that takes the fun out of it, but its nice to for someone that takes hundreds of clips and photos of their growing toddler to share with family.
Speaking of sharing, it has the option to share directly onto social media outlets such as Facebook, and it also has the GIF creator that is becoming increasingly popular. That is a cool and fun feature to use to make silly GIFs to send to loved ones to spice up the casual text or social media banter.
Overall, a good software and you can never go wrong with any Adobe products. I am a fan of the new Elements product.

Good bluetooth speaker but left me wanting more

This Blast speaker is a good everyday take with you Bluetooth speaker for casual listening and added sound for movie streaming, but it left me wanting more overall. The initial setup was a little frustrating because you have to download the app before you can connect the speaker. The Alexa feature is a bit underwhelming because she does not pick up my voice very well and it feels like I have to yell to get a response sometimes. I listen to Pandora as one of my feature music apps and connected it thru the Alexa app for this speaker. Every time I asked Alexa to play one of my radio stations, it acted as if it was going to start playing, but then every time would respond with "I am having trouble playing that station for you". Maybe there is an update that will fix the issues with the Alexa app, but for now I am just using the Bluetooth feature to play music and connect to my laptop for streammg movies.
For the size of the speaker I was expecting a lot more power with a full dynamic range. It does have full sound but seems to lack on the deep rich lows, mids and highs are great. The 360 degree profile I think only refers to the design of the speaker body, because if you listen closely while rotating the speaker, you can hear the change in sound from the different drivers built into the speaker.
I have experienced several drop signals while using the Bluetooth which is kind of frustrating. I will be playing music and then ask Alexa to turn volume up or down, then the music would stop and not start playing again. I would have to disconnect the speaker and reconnect it.
I love the look and feel of the speaker and really love that it is waterproof. It is the perfect companion for the shower and medley of songs. I can comfortably take this speaker in the shower or to the pool without the stress of worrying about it getting wet.
Overall, this is a decent Bluetooth speaker but still needs a little work to iron out all the quirks with the wifi and Alexa. I have not used the multi connection with other UE speakers because I have no one with one to try it out. But I'm sure that would be really cool to share music and make a surround sound party at the beach or pool.

Feature packed security camera system

I've only had this Arlo camera system for a short time but it is awesome and packed with usability features to help you feel a little safer where ever you place the cameras. The initial set up was a little slow considering it is a plug and play system after downloading the app. It took several minutes to notice any action after I connected the power adapter and Ethernet cable. But once connected it was amazing from the start. The video clarity is amazing and the audio from the small camera is pretty impressive. During the set up you have to choose a cloud recording plan one of which is the Basic free 7 day plan which is suffice although I would have liked to have a hard DVR included. But the cloud systems works just fine for what I use it for. The cameras have a decent battery which allow them to be placed anywhere in range wirelessly or you connect to a power adapter. The nice feature that I like about mounting them is the included powerful magnetic mount. I was very impressed by this mount as you can mount it inside or outdoors with 3 screws and simply place the camera on the globe shaped magnetic mount. It is strong enough to securely hold the camera in place and allows for easy adjustment. I would not recommend using this mount outdoors unless it is placed out of reach because it can be easily stolen.
The cameras have a built in mic and speaker system that allow you to listen to and speak to the person or your pet in range of the camera. The mic also allows for sound detection to initiate recording along with motion detection, awesome for if someone notices the camera and attempts to sneak by but makes noise.
The high decibel alarm is another great feature that will alert anyone to a unwarranted presence. You can activate the alarm with the simple push of a button on the mobile app. The app itself is fairly user friendly and allows for live view of your cameras. I did notice a bit of lag when I was using my app while I was out and about and tested the mic speaker phone talking to my wife while she was at home. It appeared that I was able to see and hear her during live view in real time, but when I was talking to her, she did not hear me for several seconds after I spoke. Not a major turn off because all of the other features make it worthwhile the purchase.
You can snap pictures, share video, save video all from the app. There are so many features packed into this camera system that I could go on forever. If you are looking for a reasonably priced and easy to use/install camera system, this is it. Do not hesitate to get this if you are looking for one. You will not be disappointed.

Surprisingly good and comfortable

These earbuds are surprisingly good in all aspects. They come with the standard amount of 3 interchangeable ear tips that appear a little awkward in shape but actually work. The square wing tips seemed unconventional but are comfortable when seated correct. The ear bud tips are very soft and block out about 90 to 95 percent of ambient noise so you can get that deep sound from all your music. The volume doesn't get very high, I turned up to max volume and I could comfortably listen to my music. The cord is made of that nylon type material that is used on the new age charger cords. It seems pretty durable but not sure how long it will last. The only gripe I have is the huge control module for the power/sync button and volume control. It seems a bit big for the earbuds and is made of a cheap feeling plastic but it does not add any weight to the already very light earbuds. I can comfortably wear these buds for an extended period time without feeling pain in my ears or being annoyed with the cord. Overall this is a great purchase worthy set of earbuds.

Powerful laptop in a compact package

After having some time to interact with this Spectre x360 which I am actually using to write this review, I am pretty satisfied and impressed with it as a laptop and the ease to transition to it from my wife's MacBook. I've been using IOS on the MacBook primarily and was concerned about changing over to Windows 10 OS but it has been an enjoyable journey. The Cortana windows assistant has also helped with making things easier.
This HP came in a beautiful packaged box so I expected the device to be just as beautiful, it was. This is a very sleek, clean lined, and compact convertible laptop. It feels very nice but a bit fragile because it is so thin and tapered which is not really a drawback because that is one of the reasons I like it for its portability to be able carry it anywhere I go. The screen has very minimal vertical bezels on the screen and the common bezels horizontally to accommodate the web cam, mics, and to give a sturdy mount for the 360 hinges. The hinges seem to be sturdy enough to withstand the vigor of rotating the screen thru all of the modes (laptop, tent, display, and tablet).
The concept and capability of the convertible laptop is nice but I don't see myself using this as a tablet. It does not feel comfortable to hold as a tablet as I am constantly pushing the buttons of the keyboard which are open to the back when in tablet mode. To watch movies in display mode or tent mode is nice but the sound from the speakers is directed away from you. Watching movies in laptop mode provides the best experience for both sound and picture.
The speakers are really nice and the best I've experienced from a laptop. This HP comes with Bang & Olufsen sound system which provide a full sound with great volume with little to no distortion at the highest level. I'm listening to the Pandora app as I write this review and it sounds great. There is also a simplistic audio equalizer that you can use to make slight adjustments but I felt no need as it sounds good to me. It does not have that overwhelming tinny sound that is common from laptop computers.
The video is full HD and the resolution is very pleasing to the eye. I watched Rogue One from the Netflix app and was very pleased with video and graphics performance. The on board fan and ventilation of this laptop keep the heat to a minimum and I can't even hear the fan operating when it is on. Very good for plane flights or road trips to have this laptop sitting on your lap without getting over heated.
The keyboard is very satisfying in the way it feels when typing. The keys are a good size and spaced very well even though the overall size of keyboard seems a little tight but nothing to complain about. The backlight feature for they keys is a one push button on/off with no brightness adjustment. In certain lighting when the backlight is on it makes the keys difficult to see because of silver color of the keys and the led color of the lights, but if you know how to type well that will not be an issue if you are familiar with your keyboard.
I continuously used the term laptop because that is what I see myself primarily using this for. I will most likely not use my wife's MacBook anymore since getting this and it will quickly become my favorite go to device for laptop duties and movie streaming on trips. This HP is very powerful and much quicker than I expected. On startup it takes seconds to power-up and be ready to sign on. It has fingerprint and facial recognition as a security sign-on feature which is somewhat accurate even-though not perfect. But it also offers a pin as a back-up in case of misreads. Everything I have done to try and bog down the cpu it has passed with flying colors. It works fast at loading and opening every app and web page while multi-tasking of streaming video or music. It also comes with a stylus which I do not use much as I am still getting accustomed to writing on a screen. The screen is touch enabled which is really nice when I am being lazy and do not want to use the touch pad which is wide and very nice.
The things that I find to picky about are just because I'm transitioning from and a MacBook to this windows HP and it is just an adjustment period that I am sure I will overcome. I can say that I definitely prefer the HP Spectre over the MacBook for performance visually, speed, and in audio. It comes with 2 usb-c (thunderbolt) ports and a two length charging cable, 1 usb-a port, micro sd slot, and 3.5mm headphone jack. The battery life is very good although I do not know the exact hours that I've used this laptop. I charged it fully and have used it for 3 days streaming videos, music, web browsing, and a little word processing. I still have 23% battery life remaining on day three with intermittent use without charging.
Overall the HP Spectre x360 is a power packed, beautiful, universal machine that will quickly become a favorite in your smart electronic device collection. We will see how it withstands the everyday use of the bump and grind. It does come with a leather-like notebook carry case that will help protect it. Definitely a worth while purchase.

Great competition for the big name Brands

I didn't know or hear much about this brand Hisense to start out with so I did a little research before diving in. Come to find out that this particular brand is one of the most popular overseas in Asia. So I figured since I am an avid Samsung t.v. fan why not give it a chance. Upon getting this 65" beast home (very heavy), I made sure to be very careful unpacking it from the box since it has a thin LED screen. After getting it out of the box, it was a much thinner screen than I realized. This t.v is beautiful!!!! There is almost nothing to it.... it is all screen (very thin) with speaker enclosures towards the bottom back. Other than that I could not see how this t.v. was going to perform with little to no extra visible hardware. There are very thin bezels hugging the 65"'s of LED so what you see is what you get. I'm not going over the specs because there are too many to list and they are easy found on the box and enclosed booklet. But it has more than enough inputs for all your devices. Something that I always felt lacked on the other big brands.
Now, like I said before this t.v. is beautiful aesthetically so I hoped the same for the image.... I was not disappointed! First powering it on the Hisense logo comes on very underwhelming, but the menu seems crisp and bright. Went thru the setup and it was a breeze. Now time to play. I cut the cable awhile ago and use streaming services with my Amazon Firestick. This is the standard Alexa FireStick so I'm not sure if it has true 4K capabilities coming from it. Anyways, I fire up my live t.v. streaming service and was truly amazed of the quality of both the picture and sound. First I must say, I thought nothing compared to my previous Samsung but this Hisense is definitely giving it a run and quite possibly surpassed it! The Hisense has vibrant rich colors and deep rich blacks. I never understood why people always talked about deep black colors on the t.v. before but now I understand. I was watching a movie with dark tunnel scenes and I could see details that I never could before. I was in awe and wondered why I they would make movie scenes so dark that we could see what was going on. It was so good that the widescreen black bars on the top and bottom screen blended perfectly with the portions of black from the scenes intended to be borders or whatever. There was no faded look or grey blacks. Truly amazing to be able to tell the difference now. The resolution being streamed from my firestick looked ultra HD and was blur free during fast motion scenes. It felt as if I was thrown into the movie and action.
Now I have a sound bar but wanted to hear the sound from those enclosed speakers on the back of this thing. I know we have all been disappointed by tinny undeveloped sound from big screen t.v.'s. The sound from this Hisense has been the most satisfying from any big screen t.v. I've owned. If I didn't have my sound bar prior to hooking this Hisense up, I probably could've waited to purchase one. It has clear deep sound, although still has that small hint of tin sound. It has an adjustable equalizer in the settings to fine tune to your preference but I didn't feel the need to mess with that. It also offers a true surround feature for desk mount or wall mount to direct the sound depending on how it is set up. Mine is wall mounted and I turned this feature on, then cranked the volume.... it held its own and the speakers produced a loud full surround like feeling. I was truly impressed and happy with everything with the Hisense so far.
Now to test the smart features and wifi connectivity. I do use my firestick for most of the apps that are available with the Hisense but the remote that is included comes with dedicated buttons to Netflix, Amazon, Youtube and a few others so why not try it out. I pushed the Netflix button while watching a movie and it immediately switched over with no delay or circling clock. I signed in and it worked flawlessly, no buffering, no waiting, no errors. Not sure if it is my wifi but I had the same wifi with other smart t.v.'s and they did not work this fast. I searched for 4K movies and started playing one. Wow. The picture, the colors, the motion, the sound, all impressive for a Brand of t.v. I know nothing about. I then pressed the YouTube button on the remote, again a flawless transition into this app. Started playing 4k test videos from YouTube.... all I can say is Hisense may be a game changer for the other big Brands at the box stores real soon. This 65" 4K Hisense will not break the bank and will get you into the 4K revolution. I cant speak for the durability of this this t.v. and how long it will last compared to the other brands such as Samsung, because my Samsungs lasted a very long time, but only time will tell. The Hisense is very thin and feels fragile when handling so you will have to be very careful when mounting to the wall. But it looks amazing once mounted! Do not hesitate to make a change if you want to try another Brand like this, I did and I'm happy that I did so far.

We already have a line up of Ninja products because we love the craftsmanship, aesthetics, and performance, but definitely wanted something in a smaller size that could get the job done without sacrificing. This precision processor does just that. When we first took everything out of the box it was a bit overwhelming because of the accessories and attachments. It seemed a bit much for such a small appliance and I couldn't really figure it out perfectly without reading the instructions. I am not one for reading instructions because I'm one of those people.... But after taking the time to do things right I was quite impressed and had my wife put this thru her full kitchen test. She immediately fell in love with it and says that it makes cooking that much easier and fun.
The spiralizer was better than I expected as I have never used one and was quite skeptical at first. After placing some squash and cucumbers into the spiralizer I was excited to get a fresh and appetizing looking salad of vegatables. It was so easy, quick, and made it fun. We then chopped some fresh onions in the chopper attachment and did not shed one tear. Amazing!
It has simple controls with only two buttons, Start/Stop and Pulse which need no explanation. It comes equipped with suction cups on the bottom to hold it in place while in use and is small enough to leave on the countertop if you so wish. It has multiple blade attachments for both the chop and spiralizer accessories. The chopper has an opening flip up to add liquids while chopping, blending, or pureeing which I have yet to use but am looking forward to this when I start my liquid fast. So excited to have something so convenient and practical to use for everyday in the kitchen. Definitely lives up to the Ninja standard and worth every penny....

Good HD widescreen monitor

This is a good widescreen HD monitor with decent brightness and clear colors. There is nothing spectacular to say about this monitor that will put way above the rest. It does have small bezels so almost your entire front surface is visible screen. It is very thin with a basic stand that tilts slightly. I do wish it came with a better stand that could adjust both vertically in height and more of a tilt for better viewing angles. It only comes with a VGA and hdmi input and nothing more. I am using it for a security camera system so it fits the bill perfectly.
