Fairly Decent Movie
on August 10, 2011

Over all not a bad movie at all. Pretty funny actually. Catching it during release week for 29.99 is a bargain for sure. I don't regret adding it to my collection.
To respond to the review below, I disagree that the fault is on Blu Sky or 20th Century . Your tv is a LG after all, not the best of the 3d TVs. In fact they are a tad behind Samsung, Sony and Panasonic. If there is unatural white along with too much color, obviously the tv isn't calibrated, not up to the task or further adjustments to the settings are needed. I have a 55" 729 Sony Bravia, S580 Sony Blu, STR- DN1010 Sony Amp and PS3 all going thru HDMI cables only. The pic shows beautifully on my setup. Very natural. The only problem the film has is the slight ghosting/ double imaging here and there on some scenes.
These 3d movies are replicas from the actual movies. We do not have the theatrical technology so there will be minor issues. In fact all 7 of my 3d movies suffer from the slight ghosting on some scenes. But you have to be looking for it or you wouldn't notice it. If a 3d movies shows horribly thru the whole movie the viewing setup itself is to blame, not the movie. Don't get it confused with a poor 3d production.
Remember all movies and tvs are created differently. Different technologies brings different results. All in all this movie is worth the sale price for sure. The plot is okay. Not the best and not he worst.

Great Movie in 3d

I took a chance on this title based on the reviews I read as usually. I knew nothing of it and I was skeptical about it in fact. This was a great movie to invest in. This was one of my first 3d movies purchased. This was a completely different plotted movie considering its characters. The models were great along with the 3d, the environments and the plot itself. Money well spent. It even has a bit of moral value to it. It has 4 viewing formats so it definitely makes the price worth it. I am convinced that if you purchase these 3d movies during its release week, it will save you at least 10 bucks and makes these 3d movies a bargain considering they have multiple formats.
What's great about it: its cast of characters is something different
What's not so great: i didn't get it sooner

Overall descent movie

I went ahead and purchased this based on the reviews here as well. Not to bad of a movie. 3d wasn't to bad. At times it did seem like the 3d was busy on screen and causes a lil out of focusing. The plot was very similar to "You got Served" ( where dancing movies started). The dacing was okay, nothing much I haven't really seen. There is depth to the 3d which is what this format should be about.
Am I disappointed in the purchase, no. Do I think its a fantastic movie, no. It was a tad above par at best overall. $34.99 is a better suited price. Its not up there with the 3d animation movies I own. Obviously it is easier to make a 100% animation movie shot for 3d near perfect compared to live footage. Alice in wonderland and Avatar are at the top of the list for live 3D however they do contain a large percentage of CG.
What's great about it: the vibe
What's not so great: price

Okay Effect

This was one of my first 3d movies/videos. I love discovery / nature type documentaries so this was right up my alley. The narration wasn't the best but I wanted it primarily for its 3d so I can look over that part. The narrator is an actor not a speaker for senate. I wish we could have gotten at least another 15 mins out of it to make a full hr long show but oh well. The length is given on the Blu ray and on this web site so no one can really complain about that. I will have to check out all the other sea 3d movies to compare in more detail.

Nice 3d

If I am not mistaking, this was converted to 3d for blu. Not a bad job though. It had some nice depth to it. I really only bought it for the 3d. I saw it when it was released years ago on dvd so I knew the storyline. I can't down it for the story because I already knew it. Considering its an old movie that is now in 3d the price is reduce a tad bit. Could be a few bucks cheaper though. Eventually it will. I am just building up my 3d library. There is no regret on the purchase so its a keeper.

Cute and Entertaining

I enjoyed this movie very much. Glad I gambled and took the chance. I never read any books or knew anything about the main character besides her name. The 3d was nice. Its not reaching out the screen but it has nice depth. Nice and crisp on my Sony Bravia. The sound was great as well. It had alot of cute funny parts that I didn't expect. A few double image spot here and there but you don't notice it really. Of coarse it will vary from tv to tv along with the settings you have it on.
No reason to down this movie at all Plus it has all the other formats as well so the price it worth it. I gave the dvd version to my kids and I retained the rest. I typically don't care much for Disney movies due to all the singing but this one wasn't bad at all. I am happy that I added to my collection.
What's great about it: Keeps your attention
What's not so great: its not free, lol

Good ole Fun

This review is solely based on offline gameplay. I like this game and I really wanted it to blow away the first installment. For me it didn't though. The story mode was a bit weaker and not as challenging as LBP 1. I believe my girlfriend and I had beaten story mode in less than 1.5 weeks playing about 2 hrs a night here and there. In LBP it took us about a good 1-2 months to finish storymode, playing about the same amount of hrs if not more.
There are some really cool additions here thoguh. What you can do vs LBP 1 is by far a jump ahead. I am sure once I go online there will be some real cool levels that people have made. The best part about this game though, is that its compatible with the first game. Levels and items can be used in LBP 2 and will utilize the new features LBP offers.

You grip the wheel of your tricked-out GTR, feeling the pressure of the race weigh down on you. The driver behind you taps your bumper and, for a second, you can't see anything but your lap. You're forced to the right and scrape the guardrail. You cringe, wondering how bad it looks. This is the last race before the FIA GT1 world championship. It's your chance to prove you have the ultimate racing machine and the mettle to defeat all those who oppose you. Shift 2 Unleashed puts you directly in the driver's seat with the all-new helmet cam that simulates driver head movements for the most realistic driving experience yet. You feel every impact, every bump, every scrape, and the scars stick with you — and your car. In this exciting installment from the critically acclaimed Shift franchise, you aren't limited to one type of racing. Choose to race muscle cars, compete in endurance races, trick out retro cars and more. Keep your friends posted through it all with the new Autolog system that lets you compare driver profiles and career statuses, share and comment on pictures and video, send challenges and much more. The battle won't end at the finish line — are you ready for a racing game this realistic and this intense?

Very exciting racing experience

I am a long time Grand Turismo fan. Been one since GT1. With its newest title GT5 I was so displeased with it that I ventured out and took a chance with Shift 2. Glad I did.
I missed out on the buzz for Shift 1 so I don't know exactly what improvements they made. But I do however know that the fun factor is definitely in vs GT5. The problem with this title is 1) Shift 1 left a bad taste in some people with its gameplay. Physics, A.I. and glitches primarily. People also expected the Need for Speed type action. The title is Shift, not Need for Speed. 2)That everyone that doesn't like Shift, expects the physics to be what GT is. Guess what, its a different game.
For what its worth, this game is awesome in my opinion. The fun factor and longevity is there. I stopped playing GT5 after a month of its release do to its lack of content. GT4 is still the better game if you ask me. I don't know what the guy below me is hating on the menus for but the Menus are great. They are straight to the point without excess button pressing. This game in no such form competes with GT3. It will compete with GT5 and Forza 4 when it comes out. Its not the best and its far from the worst. Just like GT5, they can patch and add DLC.
Depending on what platform your getting this, the graphics here are decent and on par for the most part. Running at 720p looks good on my LCD. With everything that goes on in the races 720p is the best option because it does not sacrifice the gameplay as much. Run at 1080 and you get screen tearing and other compromises that the game can not do because of higher resolution.
The only complaint I see over in the car forums for this game that is valid IMHO, are the physics. I play with a G27 and with most wheels they feel a bit loose when you loose traction in the corners. No biggie really. You can compensate for this by changing your driving style. I approached this game with a GT driving approach. You can not do this. It has its own physics system in which either you like or you don't. Practice it, give it a chance and if you Master it, the game only gets better. The fun factor goes up. Autolog is great. Its a competition in itself with your friends and the rest of the world.
Bottom line, this is a better racing experience than GT5 currently IMO. If you want a race, a challenge to push your skill and an A.I. that actually competes with you, this is a title to give a go. If you want to hot lap or just drive tracks with little to no competition then this game isn't for you. There are difficulty setting as well controller level setting to aid/challenge you. Overall, I am having a blast with this than GT5.
What's great about it: The fun factor
What's not so great: Loose wheel control support

i picked this up day one and played for 6+7 hrs straight. lots of trophies that don't seem to hard to get. i didn't get the first installment of the series for i didn't know about it til 3 months ago prior to the new release. mainly due to me just getting a ps3. reading reviews and comments i decided to go straight to the new installment. game is a blast. storyline is great. i didn't expect the story to flow into the character like it did. nice job. graphics are awesome. so far game play is sweet. i haven't run into any glitches or difficult spots other than roof top races, lol. took me a little bit of time to get use to the gameplay since i didn't play ASI but i am getting there. there is an exclusive code for a map that comes with the game when bought from best buy. not sure is all stores have the same thing going on. each code is specific to that particular bought copy. so no sharing guys, lol. overall i am thrilled to have this game in my inventory. i couldn't wait til the 17th. i waiting for weeks for this game along with GOW 1&2.
What's great about it: open environment, everything is interactive
What's not so great: waiting for the release date

i have never played a metal gear solid game and i wanted to experience it. i picked this one up on a buy 2 get one free deal. this was my free one. glad i got it. the demo was decent and it pulled me in. i am pleased. great graphics, gameplay and story. i can't play fast paced shooter games because they toy with my head. this is more of a behind the scenes type game so its slow enough for me to be playable. plus i am not great at shooter games so this gives me a bit of a challenge as well. I wish it had trophies though. sometimes i feel like i am watching a movies because some of the cinematics are so long. oh well, part of the game that you don't really want to miss.
What's great about it: the storyline, weapon choices
What's not so great: lonnggggg story telling scenes, no trophies

was there an exclusive content code for preordering assassin's creed 2

when i looked at the gaming insider booklet that is given free at best buy, on the back said "reserve assassin's creed 2 today and receive a best buy exclusive code to unlock the arsenal shipyard." and i pre-ordered it and also receaved a hard copy preorder box. however when i picked up the game itself there was no code. and this promotion was also up on the best buy site and it showed up when i searched "best buy exclusive assassin's creed 2 arsenal shipyard"

what im wondering is if there is in fact a code for just preordering this or was i supposed to go to the midnight opening? and also if i should call the best buy i bought it from seeing as when i called they said there was nothing about an exclusive code.
i didn't preorder but i got the game on release day and the code was inside with the game manual. its a single piece of paper that came inside the case. if your case cover has the best buy logo on it, it should be inside. thing about the code is, it only works on one machine. the codes are different per game case. the paper will tell you how to activate the code.
