If I could get my money back...I would

I have not done a review on here in along time but this movie made me do one. This review hopefully will save someone some money.
If you loved the first few Scary Movies in which the Wayans where in/produced you loved what the title stood for. If you disliked Scary Movie 4 (without the Wayans) you will absolutely hate Scary movie 5. If you love slapstick comedy then this movie is for you. Scary Movie 1-3 was pure enjoyment and hilarious. What they are putting out now is a joke. Most of it makes no sense. I should have learned my lesson from part 4 but I took a gamble hoping they would redeem themselves. I gambled and I lost big. I wish I could return it. Out of the 400+ movies I own, this one is in the bottom 5 disliked that I will never watch again. Some may love this slapstick comedy but as mentioned if you thought the first 3 were funny but not the 4th, don't bother with this one. I am turned off from the franchise for life now even if the Wayans returned as they did in the first few.
A side note. Don't let all the A listers in this movie fool you. They have several but they only have 2-3 minute roles and you never see them again in the movie. What producer does that and has a successful movie to keep people coming back.
What's great about it: the title
What's not so great: the whole movie

A long 10 yr wait

I don't play PC games much, I am a PS3 guy. I also don't play games online and this long awaited release of SimCity clarifies why I haven't tried played online. The release is going horribly wrong from being an online only game. The servers are packed and there are massive issues with even getting to the game setup screen. They may smooth it out later in due time but its ruining the game for me already.
The Cons. Way overpriced for what we get. If SimCity 4 was up to date like this new release, it would be perfect., and deserving of a game of the year title. So much freedom is taken away with this new release. Limited transportation, can't control highways, restricted building space no farming and no offline play just to name a few. I should have listened to others to boycott. If I could get a refund I would. Its worth 39.99 but not 59.99. I hope they drop the price within 60 days (silver member) so that I can get something back from the game
The pros. The product itself is okay. I like the modular upgrades for buildings. No need for multiple buildings. The addition of bus stop placement and adding garages for different buildings, extend services to limit multiple buildings as well. The region share is cool sharing from city to city. This is only because they restrict you to very small city parameters though. The road building tools, density buildup system and zoning are great. No cost to zone now. I do like the interface. Easy to view and make changes as needed. Its more visual than having graphs now. Although minor, I do like the weather system and the night and day addition even though its automatic.
I hope there are patches to gives us more, add some leftout things that was in SimCity 4, give us larger cities or give us unrestricted building perimeters. To be a 10 year wait, they sort of went backwards if you ask me. All the detail they put in the game is cool but it forces us to play restricted. Alot of us have really good cpu's that can handle the game's graphic/detail offline. Being online only, this game is at the mercy of server limitations so we are restricted big time. Apparently they were more concerned about piracy than giving fans a good product. I think they failed unless patches give us back freedom.
What's great about it: Has some very nice features and upgrades
What's not so great: They took away alot of freedom

Mario Kart Who?

I picked this up opening day and I must say its a blast to play. Once you grasp what's going on. Its very challenging and rewarding. Its no cake walk which is great. I enjoyed Mario Kart on the SNES back in the day and if you take that game and put it in today's gaming world, LBP Karting is what you should get.
They did a great job on the track controls. I am sure the controls are far beyond any in its class and will be for quite some time. I looked at the in game tutorials and went in and quickly tinkered with track creation and it has soooooo much control. There are more options here than in the platform series.
Getting stickers can be a challenge as well as finishing the races. Expect to replay boards several times. If you can ace a board on the first or even second shot, this isn't the game for you. There are two levels of difficulty at least. I am setup on normal and I couldn't imagine a higher level. My girlfriend and I have logged time nearly everyday since its release and we are having a blast. I must warn those that get motion sickness after playing quick motion video games. I can only play so long but I definitely have a blast playing it. Take breaks after every race or so. You will want more after one or two tracks.
The replay value on this will be just as good as the two LBP platform games. If you liked LBP 1 & 2 and you like racing games, this is a must pick up. I can't wait to see some of the ideas many of you come up with. I have alot of GT4 tracks in my head to create LBP style. This should be the game of the year IMO. Don't wait to purchase, hone your skills now, and let those imaginations go wild and maybe I will see you on the tracks.
What's great about it: Its a LBP series
What's not so great: it didn't come out sooner

Overall great entertainment

I think this was a pretty good movie overall. I wish I had gone back and watched the other two for I don't remember were it left off. I was going to buy regardless thought to add to the collection.
The energy in this one is pretty high I must say. It has its typical humor from Marty and crew. I like how it tied in with the circus. What I wasn't fond of was some of the unrealistic things that went on. I understand its animation and they can do anything, but keep it somewhat realistic. I won't go into detail for it doesn't really take much away from the movie. The Superwoman Animal Hunter was in a league of her own. She added some humor for sure but at the same time, I scratched my head a few times, lol.
I like the message in this one that it presented. Kids may be able to relate to it. My kids loved it for its a really loud, active and colorful movie. They are pre-school age so that's what a movie needs to capture the attention of kiddos nowadays.
I'd say give it a go. I attempted to watch it on release day and ended up falling asleep after 30mins. I didn't give it a fair judgment at first. Then I realized that I was just flat out tired and I tried to watch it after 9pm. So I gave it another go mid-day a few days later when I was wide awake. Glad I did for I had missed a very entertaining movie.
What's great about it: Lots of energy
What's not so great: Some parts were a bit too unrealistic

The King of 3d

Finally, its on the market for everyone. Panasonic, shame on you. The exclusive rights was dragged out far too long. I waited patiently for its home release for years. I refused to buy a panasonic or purchase the overpriced ebay copies. I saw the 3d version in 09 in the theaters so I got my viewing of it already. I also already purchased the regular Blu Ray on its release day. The 3d release was an automatic buy for me when it hit home release.
This is the movie to which all are judged by. This is the standard in which all 3d movies are trying to achieve. This movie is the reason why I invested in my entire 3d setup. I am a computer animation grad so I am highly into 3d in all forms.
The plot, the scenery, the detail, the concept the.....so much to praise for with this historic title. Numero Uno all time on the gross charts. Its number one for a reason is all I can say without spoiling the movie for anyone. If you have a 3d tv, this is a must. You CAN NOT just buy the regular Blu Ray and convert it. This is not one of those titles that you want to go this route. Buy the real thing and you won't regret it. Now the anticipation is really on for the other Avatars to follow.
What's great about it: Its Avatar
What's not so great: We have to wait a few more years for the other releases

Pure Awesomeness

I saw this in the theater in 3d and was not overly impressed so I just got the regular blu ray version. I can convert it to 3d on my own and get close to what I saw in the theater. But the 3d isn't the topic here.
This movie was great in the aspect that it combined multiple super heroes in which all had their own movies. The plot was great. I can't believe how well they were able to cram 4 lead characters in. I am sure there will be another 2 or 3 Avenger movies. If not, someone had a brainfart, lol. It landed in the top 50 grossing movies of all time so there is no excuse not to.
Without ruining the plot for some, this is a must have movie for action hero lovers. Whether your bias towards Marvel or DC, that mindset should be tossed out the door. There is some good humor in it and its action packed thru the whole movie. This movie is also longer than 2 hrs. It's rare to get a good movie in length nowadays. It will keep you glued to your seat that's for sure. You will anticipate the sequel. I guarantee it.
If you have a blu ray player, definitely get this version. Actually I recommend any movie made in this time and age, to get Blu Ray especially if you have a Hi Def TV. If you don't have a Hi Def TV, eventually one day you will and you.
What's great about it: Unison of super heros
What's not so great: ....did you say something

I am a movie buff. I look for new releases here at Best Buy weekly. Whether I missed the movie in the theater or loved it at the theater, if the advertisements seemed okay, I will chance it. Out of my 400+ titles of movies owned, I have to admit that this one is one of them in the lower ranks.
I will admit that the movie did keep me interested and on edge due to the okay, what's going to happen next moment. I was looking for that something to really jump start the movie but it never happened for me. Too little action and not enough development in the plot. The direction I thought it was going did not happen. I looked and wanted more but it wasn't there. They never got answers and pretty much had very little interaction when they thought they found what they were looking for. It didn't appear to be open to a sequel. If there is one, I will be surprised and not interested. I compare this to Cocoon but in Cocoon the plot went somewhere. I can not say that about this one.
Overall it was a C- in my book. I think its more of a rental type movie.
What's great about it: It was blu ray
What's not so great: Long time to develop

Pretty Descent

Overall, I really liked the movie. I didn't get the chance to watch it in the theater so I was waiting til it came out. Got it day one and watched it that evening.
As far as the 3d version goes if you are building your collection, make sure you get it release week. The price is only a few dollars more than the regular blu ray. If you wait after, stick with the regular Blu Ray. Majority of the movie did not appear 3dish. And no I am not referring to pop out. I am very much into 3d and this lacked even depth thru out the movie. A few scenes were good but overall very mediocre. Appeared that it wasn't shot for 3d. I own more than a dozen 3d titles and this one is sub-par on the 3d level.
On the positive side, I liked the storyline. I wish there was a bit more with the main weapon of the movie though. Good movie to add to your collection if you liked movies like 300, Troy, and even Gladiator.
What's great about it: fight scences

Better than the Polarized 3d

I bought this to replace the old paper 3d dvd I purchased when the movie was first released years back. The real 3d is a night and day difference. The paper glasses destroyed the movie for me so I only watched it once. When I saw that the true 3d version released I purchased it as soon as I could and I trashed the other.
I was skeptical on the purchase but I am glad I did. The 3d was pretty good. Especially the pop outs. Its a Final Destination movie so it needed to have pop outs at the right moments and they delivered. The non CG 3d is as good as Step Up 3d. if you liked that title. At $42.99 its a bit pricey so you may want to what til the price drops. I had some reward zone certificates to lower my price. $42 is a bit too much for such an old movie, 3d or not.
What's great about it: It's Final Destination in 3d
What's not so great: the price

Fairly Decent Movie

I had to repost my original review from the regular DVD version. For some reason, Best Buy moved my review to the wrong title I purchased.
Over all not a bad movie at all. Pretty funny actually. Catching it during release week for 29.99 is a bargain for sure. I don't regret adding it to my collection.
To respond to the review below, I disagree that the fault is on Blu Sky or 20th Century . Your tv is a LG after all, not the best of the 3d TVs. In fact they are a tad behind Samsung, Sony and Panasonic. If there is unnatural white along with too much color, obviously the tv isn't calibrated, not up to the task or further adjustments to the settings are needed. I have a 55" 729 Sony Bravia, S580 Sony Blu, STR- DN1010 Sony Amp and PS3 all going thru HDMI cables only. The pic shows beautifully on my setup. Very natural. The only problem the film has is the slight ghosting/ double imaging here and there on some scenes.
These 3d movies are replicas from the actual movies. We do not have the theatrical technology so there will be minor issues. In fact all 7 of my 3d movies suffer from the slight ghosting on some scenes. But you have to be looking for it or you wouldn't notice it. If a 3d movies shows horribly thru the whole movie the viewing setup itself is to blame, not the movie. Don't get it confused with a poor 3d production.
Remember all movies and tvs are created differently. Different technologies brings different results. All in all this movie is worth the sale price for sure. The plot is okay. Not the best and not he worst.

was there an exclusive content code for preordering assassin's creed 2

when i looked at the gaming insider booklet that is given free at best buy, on the back said "reserve assassin's creed 2 today and receive a best buy exclusive code to unlock the arsenal shipyard." and i pre-ordered it and also receaved a hard copy preorder box. however when i picked up the game itself there was no code. and this promotion was also up on the best buy site and it showed up when i searched "best buy exclusive assassin's creed 2 arsenal shipyard"

what im wondering is if there is in fact a code for just preordering this or was i supposed to go to the midnight opening? and also if i should call the best buy i bought it from seeing as when i called they said there was nothing about an exclusive code.
i didn't preorder but i got the game on release day and the code was inside with the game manual. its a single piece of paper that came inside the case. if your case cover has the best buy logo on it, it should be inside. thing about the code is, it only works on one machine. the codes are different per game case. the paper will tell you how to activate the code.
