SynopsisCash is king in one of the most famous games ever played — Monopoly. Based on its board-game counterpart, this thoroughly up-to-date version of a beloved classic rewards players who know what to do with their dough. Choose from First-Time Buyer, Entrepreneur or Tycoon difficulty levels that suit players with varying abilities. You'll still see the signature gameplay features that encourage you to own properties and amass wealth, only now at a faster pace. Only those with more money than their competitors can claim to be the big winner.Unlike playing on a traditional game board, this version of Monopoly features cleverly animated tokens. You'll also love feasting your eyes on the bright 3D graphics. In addition, new music makes this PC version even more exciting than its predecessors. Buy and develop your properties and snicker as your unlucky opponents are forced to pay you rent. Play on your own with up to three computer opponents or join three friends in fun multiplayer rounds. Increase your riches, make your opponents go broke and prove that it pays to have money.

Back to the Basics

The 2007 version of Monopoly for PC is the same game you can download from Yahoo or MSN Games, which means this is a very basic, stripped-down version of the classic board game. There are no city-themed boards, no bonus tokens, no extra tycoon rules. But given that this focuses just on the classic gameplay, it makes for a very fun and bug-free experience. Simplistic, but yet that is one of this version's biggest selling points.
What's great about it: The game you remember
What's not so great: no extras

Best Virgin Mobile Flip Phone

The newest flip phone from Virgin Mobile is the Arc, sporting a vga camera, bluetooth and other standard features such as Mobile IM and Mobile Email, downloadable games and ringtones, etc. I am using this as an upgrade to my year-old Cyclops, and it is a nice phone with good voice quality and features. Not too much as far as extras on this phone, but you can't argue for the price.
What's great about it: Great lightweight phone
What's not so great: a tad on the basic side

20th Anniversary of one of the Best
on July 28, 2008

"Lead Me On" has been listed among the top Christian albums of our generation. And, hard as it is to believe, this marks the 20th anniversary of its initial release.
The first CD in this two-disc set is identical to the one that EMI released in remastered form last fall. The second CD houses all the additional content, such as a few accustic and live versions of the hits from the album, as well as a newly conducted audio interview with Amy and her thoughts on this milestone of her career.
Its a good package, but you would have to weigh the fact that if you have repurchased the remastered release last year, you are paying $15 or so just for a bonus cd. If you are an Amy fan, its worth it, but otherwise, it would be something to consider.
What's great about it: Additional bonus content
What's not so great: First CD already released

High Tension

A movie very similiar in theme to "The Strangers", this film is heavy on suspense and low on gore. Therefore, it will not appeal to everyone if you are looking for a "popcorn flick".
The movie itself loses a bit of steam toward the end, but if you are looking for something more than torture horror like "Saw" or "Hostel", then "Them" is for you.
What's great about it: Great suspense
What's not so great: not for everyone

Mixed bag

The lead-off single to Ace Young's over delayed debut album "Addicted" is one of two very strong tracks on the CD -- the other being the power ballad "You Redeem Me". But the rest of the quality hovers between mediocre to filler. A worthy effort with two really good songs (and recommended for that fact), but I expected more after waiting three years for this release.
What's great about it: Addicted, You Redeem Me
What's not so great: About everything else

Bubblegum Fun

Who would have guessed the phenom that High School Musical would become? Predicatble story, overproduced songs, squeeky clean teens... typical Disney fare. But its harmless fun. About roughly eight new songs are highlighted as the group takes a summer job and tries to cope with working their vacation away.
The blu-ray sports a crystal clear 1080 picture and great sound... but the extras are on the lacking side considering the suggested retail price.
What's great about it: Innocent
What's not so great: Maybe too Innocent

Solid Chills

A vacation from school turns into a nightmare for two young college students.
A lot of people have ripped on this gritty, raw horror film because of the twist towards the end -- it either makes or breaks the movie experience. And its one of those plot points that one cannot discuss without giving it away. All I can say is that a good number of people don't get it, and that it completely calls into question everything that came before it. Just pay attention to whom the narrative comes from in the get go and how it all turns out.
As far as the movie goes, it bares a lot of similarities to a TV-movie called "Intensity" (and from the book of the same name), but its horror and suspense that is so real that its tough to look away.
The DVD itself has a wealth of extras, including an all new commentary track for this release, and snipplets of the original track from the overseas DVD release. Lots of behind the scene stuff round out a great bargain for horror fans.
What's great about it: Great DVD Package
What's not so great: not for everyone

Life imitates art when evil personified takes horrifying form in this chilling fantasy-horror thriller from acclaimed master of the macabre Wes Craven. Viewable in either 1.85:1 widescreen (enhanced for 16 x 9 TVs) or standard 1.33:1 full-screen pan-and-scan, this frightful feature is accompanied by a bone-chilling closed-captioned English Dolby Digital 5.1 soundtrack, an additional closed-captioned English Dolby Digital Surround track, and optional English subtitles. Journey into the mind of a frightening creative visionary with a director's audio commentary track, fear the "Jump to a Nightmare" scene navigation, and witness the terrifying theatrical trailer. DVD-ROM features include the ability to view the script while watching the film, a chance to test your nightmare knowledge with the "New Dream World Trivia Game," up-to-the-minute cast and crew info, trivia, and more.

One of the Best Nightmares
on July 17, 2008

Who ever wrote the synopsis on the main page of this movie is almost completely wrong. Wes Craven did co-write the original treatment for "Dream Warriors", which is regarded by many fans of the series as one of the best of the sequels. Also, the review has spoilers all in it.
But nonetheless, "Wes Craven's New Nightmare" is a great entry in the original "Nightmare on Elm Street" series. Boldly original, and ahead of its time... this one takes place in "reality" with the stars and makers of the series being haunted by Freddy himself. It successfully pushes Freddy back into the shadows, and while after the hijinks of the sequels makes it impossible to make him scary again, Craven does a fine effort of at least making him a serious threat again.
A lot of parallels are drawn between this one and the original, and the presence of original stars Heather Langenkamp and John Saxon make it feel like old homecoming week. While its tone and seriousness may disappoint fans of the sequels, this one was clearly made with fans of the original in mind -- a more mature horror film for those who grew up with the original.
The DVD package itself is disappointing, but most of the extra features for this movie are on the eighth disc of the mega boxset that came out in 1999. All thats left is a pretty good director's commentary and trailer.
Overall, this is a fine movie, and one of the best "Nightmares" to be had.
What's great about it: Imaginative and Bold
What's not so great: Weak DVD package

Great history
on July 15, 2008

At three discs, its tough to say that a compliation is too short. But with so many great matches and storylines in Raw's 15 year history, that is exactly the case. There is plenty to enjoy here, but this will undoubtedly leave many fans wanting more.
The single biggest highlight for me with the inclusion of the 2000 match between then-WWE Champion Triple H and Chris Jericho... one of the biggest pops in Raw history that has to be seen to be believed.
What's great about it: HHH vs. Chris Jericho
What's not so great: Too short

A Superior Album

Anyone who is familiar with Opeth knows basically what to expect. This CD, however, throws a slight curve ball, which can be somewhat expected with the small change in personel.
Not to say there isn't any of the trademark metal that Opeth is known and loved for, but expect a little more mellow sound overall... including some female vocals that really add a new haunting dimension.
I believe it will take a couple listens, but both old and new fans will find much to love about this new project.
What's great about it: Most mature Opeth sound to date
What's not so great: May take some time to warm up to
