From Steve Purcell of 'Brave' ; Sam & Max: Freelance Police is the funniest action cartoon with plenty of sublime humor and action jokes involving a hardboiled detective dog-Sam- and the hyperactive rabbit Max as they adventure weird cases from giant cockroaches on the moon, obsessed fans, miniature aliens, fast-food henchmen, psychic kids, pet alligators, Greek god marriage counseling, and talking fish mobsters. Equipped with an interactive computer game, short CGI cartoon, comments by the creator, and plenty of in-jokes. Latter fans of the computer game will enjoy this joyfully silly cartoon that suspends the normal from under your feet. Great for all ages, but smart enough for adults.
Fans of the Atari Teenage Riot in their heyday of the 1990s will enjoy this new release that has more smoother sound than 'Burn Berlin Burn' and the tunes 'Codebreaker' and 'The Collapse of History' will be replayed over & over at any dance you see fit. Industrial-techno-punk- thrash metal mash-up; not an album for pop music fans by any means.
What's great about it: Fair album for Atari Teenage Riot fans. Great techno-core
What's not so great: Familiar techno dance music, but still good.
After 'Pretty Hate Machine' Trent Reznor followed up with 1992's two albums which were 'Broken' and its polished "twin" 'Fixed' in this grinding metal escapade that would later lead to 'The Downward Spiral.' in '94. The Adam Ant cover of 'Physical' is the sole sample to this otherwise energetic album. Timeless metal, but its got less than 10 songs. A fan of Nine Inch Nails would truly appreciate this album.
What's great about it: Early NIN in '92. More metal than techno.
This release from the critically acclaimed animated series Batman Beyond includes all 52 episodes of the show, following the story of a teenager named Terry McGinnis, who loses his father and devotes himself to following in the footsteps of his hero, Bruce Wayne.

A cyberpunk depiction of a teen who takes the mantle of an elderly Batman in the future is great for fans but its overpackaging puts the price too high. Doesn't contain the movie 'Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker' in either its edited or unedited versions. 9 discs play well with a commentary history disc on DC Comic industries. Holds a 15 page booklet of sketches that's so-so on your tastes. The set is a box placated with a DVD case of stated discs for all 3 seasons. Fairly priced than to buy all seasons at once, but could gone for less. With French/ English dubs, captioned for Spanish/English/ French.
What's great about it: For Batman fans. 2-D animation.
What's not so great: Overpackaged. Unneccesary extras. For 7 and up.
Released in 1989, the Ramones staple as fast hard-rock punk first timers make their stake on an album certified to wake you up. ' I Believe in Miracles', 'Zero Zero UFO', and 'Come Back Baby' demand attention and replays. Timeless to any rock fan or fan of the Ramones bar none. If Elvis Prestley was on a faster rockabilly kick, it would be this album.
What's great about it: A must-have for Ramones fans. Excellent price.
Keanu Reeves did this 1995 sci-fi action flick before 'The Matrix' and after 'Speed'. Playing a tech- delivery man with a microchip in his brain to a future where human minds connect with internet, computers, and cyber-spies kill - the movie predates human dependency on technology so far. Scripted by 'Neuromancer' author William Gibson, the movie is a sci-fi cult fix with some bored acting and low grade CGI. Musicians Ice-T and Henry Rollins cameo, plus Dolph Lundgren plays an evil assassin preacher well on over-the-top. A movie worth seeing once or more if your fans of the actors.
What's great about it: Cult science fiction flick.
What's not so great: So-so special effects, bland acting.
The Cardigans- hitmakers to the song 'Lovefool'- would shoot this next light pop rock album with plenty of heart and slide guitars until their hiatus. 'Losing A Friend', 'Drip Drop Teardrop', ' Diamonds' and 'Overload' are draws that should get more airplay on the radio for what they're worth. If you burned out on pop shlock like Spears, Aguilera, and Jessica Simpson over the years- this refreshing album will have more to offer . An album for your girlfriend if she's into smooth bluesy guitar rock.
What's great about it: Great album for a girlfriend.
Henry Rollins of Black Flag would lead his own charge with a solo band, Rollins' Band, to this 1994 album. Not as groundbreaking as Nirvana, Soundgarden or the grunge acts to follow, this album holds more sincerity to its sound than most albums in the last decade. Heavy on grinding bass and monotone blunt lyrics - this album blends hard rock, punk, and jazz undertones well. 'Shine' alone is worth a single listen.
What's great about it: A hard rock album that stands out.
Michelle Monaghan was the only good thing to this other wise breakneck plot of a crime comedy. Val Kilmer and Robert Downey, Jr. play up with sarcastic talk, but the story is so fast-paced and vague- you don't get it until the third viewing if your still up to the mystery. Problem with this mystery film is that when the mystery unfolds it loses its edge but your too confused with the pace to care.
What's great about it: Downey, Kilmer and Monaghan.
The DVD version of Comic Book Villains is surprisingly very nice for what is essentially a low-budget, direct-to-video release. The anamorphic widescreen image is bright and clear, vital to the design of the film, which features a lot of comic book-ish primary colors. The Dolby 5.1 sound is another swell plus, and the rear speakers are given plenty to do in this splendidly noisy movie. The disc also includes the theatrical trailer, interactive menus, and subtitles in English and Spanish.

Rival comic shops kill to claim a million dollar comic collection from a dead collectors mother. Danny Smith, Monet Mazur, DJ Qualls and Carey Elwes slide into predictable crime stereotypes in a dark criminal caper of 'Big Bang Theory'. By the time the movie ends, your already done with wanting to get a life of your own.
