Virtual Rental.

A predictable sci-fi action thriller for 1995 with all the action and explosions that mirrored after 'Speed' and played with VR ideas after 'Lawnmower Man'. A movie for Denzel Washington or Russell Crowe fans when Denzel's jailed cop is imprisoned for killing the murderer of his family, Denzel is released to capture a criminal A.I. program in a silicon-body terrorizing the city with his prior enemies memories simulated within. Over the top, high energy but an action film with some predictable outcomes. Rent before buying, corny and violent.

Street Smarts

Not vulgar in humor on a 'South Park' level of infantile sincerity, but fans of Doug Stanhope will love this album and non-familiars will be treading unfamiliar ground. Listen to this comedian before buying. Dark, sincere, blunt, inebriated, and low-brow- but honest. EXPLICIT CONTENT. You're likely buying this album for yourself.

Polish Pop Rocks

Iggy Pop and David Bowie collaborate in this New Wave rock album that is about as 80's as 'The Goonies' or techno. It's forefront hit, 'Real Wild Child', is radio staple- but I recommend 'Fire Girl', 'Shades' and 'Isolation' to this 1986-era gem. Mainstream for Iggy Pop apart from his punk-rock roots, if anything, an album for David Bowie fans and 80's lovers. New, original, and no sampling. Give it a shot.

Play with this 'Dollhouse'.

From Joss Whedon of 'Avengers', 'Firefly', 'Serenity', and the series known as 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer'- Eliza Dushku is a woman tied to a multinational organization, the Dollhouse, capable of creating programmable minded people to do the intricate at the price of the very rich. A short-lived but brilliant series of 2009, Dollhouse is a comedy, action-series, science fiction series, and dramatic love story involving the complexities of human thought and the concept of people's perceptions of themselves, smart and captivating. Perfect for the science fiction fan or fans of 'Buffy'. Viewer discretion advised.

Bad 'Crash'

Don't confuse this movie for the 2006 'Crash' movie of same name, if you liked 'A History of Violence', 'Eastern Promises' and 'The Fly' - this movie is worth a look but not a movie for those of families or kids. Rent this movie before you buy or offer as a gift.

Two-Hit Wonder House

This 1986 debut album of Crowded House features their hits 'Don't Dream until It's Over' and 'Something So Strong' on top of a set of new-wave/ rock/ alternative pieces that feels on edge between synthesized folk music. Great for any 80's fans and great music for long car trips.

Monster Blast for Kids.

Between 'The Goonies' and 'The Lost Boys' - The Monster Squad was a club of horror loving kids caught in a mystical conspiracy to stop classic horror monsters from destroying humanity. The nostalgic level is to the roof and the jokes are goofy, though some language not appropriate for younger viewers as PG-13. Grew up on the movie and loved it like 'The Goonies'.

Twisted for Suckers.

Record executives put a 'Twisted Sister' mark on this intended Dee Snider solo album minus the original band mates which would lead to the band break-up in 1990. Not a bad album for hard rock fans of eighties hair metal, 'Wake Up', 'Hot Love', and the added 4 bonus tracks makes it great for the price of purchase. Dee Snider still has plenty of energy in all the tracks.

Mellow Comedy.

Based on the play of the same name, directed by Roman Polanski, 'Carnage' is a dry comedy to a pair of parents set to make peace after their children get into a fight only to later get into a fight themselves. Worth seeing once and not a slapstick comedy by any means. Rent it.

Directed by Spike Lee cinematographer Ernest Dickerson, this biting horror flick from the makers of the HBO anthology series Tales From the Crypt stars Billy Zane and Jada Pinkett. The film centers on a battle between good and evil as the inhabitants of an old hotel attempt to keep an otherworldly villain and his army of ghouls from unleashing a demonic apocalypse on the world. This second DVD treatment of the film improves slightly on the first, but remains an essentially bare-bones offering. The film has been transferred in widescreen with the original English soundtrack mastered in Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround Sound. Additionally, there is a dubbed French audio track and subtitles in Spanish and French.

Shlock Knight Fright

Billy Zane, Jada Pinkett-Smith, William Sadler plus Thomas Haden Church would star in this horror tale of a demonic man-hunter set to claim a Biblical relic from an immortal yet cursed drifter set preventing Armageddon. Derived from the 'Tales of the Crypt' series of HBO then Fox from the 1990's, this twisted horror comedy will be a scare, shock and surprise to watch if you can tolerate the corny jokes and rim shot action. Definitely NOT for small children or haters of gore, the rocking soundtrack is superb for horror and metal fans alike.
