I have had previous good experiences with other Café Del Mar collections and trusted that this “The Very Best of Café Del Mar” compilation would be just as high quality or even better. One of my first Café Del Mar compilations is Café Del Mar Vol. 9. I had purchased it in December 2005 and reviewed it on August 8, 2011. “The Very Best of Café Del Mar” is even better and includes among some of the following satisfying songs: “Beautiful Strange” by Bedrock, “Breather” (Arithunda Mix) by Afterlife, “Get Back To Serenity” by Vargo, “Sun Is Shining” by Reunited, “Holding On” by Miro, “Transmit Liberation” by Single Cell Orchestra, “Art Noveau” by Jens Gad, “Desire” (Ambient Mix) by Blank & Jones, and “Morning Light” by Swen. The Very Best of Café Del Mar is a three cd set containing 13 songs each by various artists and is best for those who like lounge and/or chillout music compilations.
I was first introduced to the music from Justin Timberlake’s solo career around late 2002. I was hanging out with a group of friends inside of a shopping center in Yokosuka, Japan and heard the song “Like I Love You.” I also own his 2006 music collection and had to check “ The 20/20 Experience” in order to compare musical sounds. “The 20/20 Experience” is definitely a music departure from his previous music creation. However, many of the songs are remarkable and there is something for various men and women in this compilation. Currently, I greatly enjoy the musical tracks “Pusher Love Girl”, “Suit &Tie”, “Spaceship Coupe”, “Let The Groove In”, and “Mirror”. Obviously, the most favorite songs are going to vary from person to person, but “The 20/20 Experience” by Justin Timberlake is a suitable collection for those who are open to listening to romantic R&B music with subtle hints of pop music.
“Shout-The Very Best of Tears For Fears” by Tears For Fears highlights classic hits of their music careers. “Mad World”, “Shout”, “Everybody Wants To Rule The World”,”Head Over Heels”, “Sowing The Seeds Of Love” “Woman In Chains” (feat. Oleta Adams) and “Break It Down Again” are some of the satisfactory tracks available on this collection. “Shout-The Very Best of Tears For Fears” is best for those who like 80’s to 90’s greatest hits compilations of synth-pop music genres.
I am fortunate to be familiar with Garbage stemming from my teenage years of living in Illinois. The band’s music was frequently featured on the Chicago, Illinois alternative rock station Q101 during the mid to late 1990’s. I also caught some of their music videos on MTV and VH1. For some strange reason, I even heard their music in one of my dreams around 6-7 years ago. Due to these listed circumstances, I am most familiar with the following solemn but catchy songs:”Vow”, ”Only Happy When It Rains”,”Stupid Girl”, “#1 Crush (featured on the soundtrack for the 1996 Romeo and Juliet movie), “Push It”, “I Think I’m Paranoid”, “Special”, “When I Grow Up”, and “The World Is Not Enough”. I also enjoy that this edition also includes some of the songs as featured remixes. “The World Is Not Enough” (U.N.K.L.E Remix), “Cherry Lips” (Go Baby Go), and “You Look So Fine” are currently some of the songs that I currently enjoy on this collection. However, there are many other notable songs on this alternative rock set due to the pleasant vocals, multiform mixes of music, and musical tracks that contain unadulterated emotions. “Absolute Garbage” (Special Edition) by Garbage is best for those who like greatest hits collections containing industrial rock and/or electronica rock.

There are also many more good artists available from the three cds.“Ministry Of Sound: Pump It Up 2013” is a rousing compilation for those who enjoy various artist collections from high energy trance, dance, and electronica music genres.
“I Am The Club Rocker” by Inna is a lighthearted and exhilarating cd that includes bright songs such as “Sun Is Up”, “No Limit”, and “Put Your Hands Up”. The festive melodies do capture the club theme of her cd. “I Am The Club Rocker” by Inna is best those who like dance cds that invoke an elevating atmosphere.
I was curious to hear more songs from Alexandra Stan after hearing the “Mr Saxobeat” song from the Future Trance Vol. 56 compilation. “Show Me The Way”, “Crazy”, and “Get Back Asap” are some of the multiple electrifying dance songs that are on “Saxobeats”. I only wish that there would have been more songs, but there are at least a few of the songs that were remixed. “Saxobeats” by Alexandra Stan is best for those who like daring and energetic dance music.
“The Next Day” by David Bowie features songs that touch on a wide range of human conditions. This cd has elements of new-wave, 80’s rock, and modern rock combined in many of the songs. “Dancing Out In Space”, “You Will Set The World On Fite”, “Plan”, and “I’ll Take You There” are some of the multiple strong songs on “Next Day” that capture the panorama of life experiences. “The Next Day” by David Bowie would most likely resonate with those who are open to listening to music that carefully blends 80’s romantic rock with modern day rock music elements.
Luckily, I found out about the “Sound City: Reel To Reel” through the Foo Fighters e-mail mailing list. I decided to take a chance on them because I previously enjoyed the Foo Fighters greatest hits collection (reviewed it on January 14, 2011), their Wasting Light cd (reviewed on May 14, 2011), and had much fun at one of the Foo Fighters concerts back in November 11, 2011. As with millions of others, I have been aware of Foo Fighters since the 1990’s thanks to MTV. Additionally, I have been familiar with the Foo Fighters and this genre of music because my two older brothers frequently listened to rock music. I like the diverse music collaborations on the cd. I also completely understand that it is going to vary with each man or woman on personal favorites on this cd. However, I have to admit that the following are among the songs that caught my attention: “Heaven And All” (Robert Levon Been, Dave Grohl, Peter Hayes), “You Can’t Fix This” (Stevie Nicks, Dave Grohl, Taylor Hawkins, & Rami Jaffee), “The Man That Never Was” (Rick Springfield,Dave Grohl, Taylor Hawkins, Nate Mendel& Pete Smear), “From Can To Can’t” (Corey Taylor, Dave Grohl, Rick Nielsen, & Scott Reeder), “Cut Me Some Slack” (Paul McCartney, Dave Grohl, Krist Novoselic, & Pat Smear), and “Mantra” (Dave Grohl, Joshua Homme, & Trent Reznor). “Sound City: Reel To Reel” is a great music choice for those who like rock music featuring an eclectic range of musicians.
