This set compiles all the episodes from the first season of the ABC drama series Scandal, starring Kerry Washington as a high-powered legal mind who uses her immense skills to get high-profile clients out of difficult public relations situations.
Kerry Washington and Tony Goldwynn persuasively create the characters of Olivia Pope and President Fitzgerald Grant having a strong rapport with each other. There are other talented actors and actresses in this series as well and it is hard for me to narrow it down to just one favorite. However, I admit that I also greatly enjoyed the characters of Abby Whelan (played in a passionate way by Darby Stanchfield) and Huck (played in a natural way by Guillermo Diaz). There is a scene in the series where the character of Abby Whelan speaks up in regards to protecting the wife of a client. You then have the character of Huck who carefully and discreetly carries out certain dealings for Olivia. However, a viewer would also get the feeling that he is doing this from the noble intent to help out Olivia in the best way he can. There is a scene that is really funny when the character of Olivia Pope is urging Huck to avoid using violence in his dealings. There is so much more that I can share about this series, but I must leave unlisted out of consideration for those who would be seeing this series for the first time. “Scandal Season One” is good for those who would enjoy watching spontaneous and unique political tv shows that are set in the Washington D.C. area.
This release contains every episode from the fifth season of Merlin, a run of shows that finds Morgana enlisting Mordred in efforts to dethrone King Arthur, while supernatural dangers lurk just outside the kingdom.
“Merlin Season Five” definitely ends differently than I expected. However, I can see why it ended the way it did in keeping with the series theme. The bonuses included on this dvd collection are the deleted scenes, outtakes, making of Merlin, and the storyboards (where different sketches of the Merlin scenes are displayed). “Merlin Season Five” is great for those who have watched any of the other Merlin Seasons and for those who enjoy watching fantasy themed television.
“Hotel Costes: Decade 1999-2009” (mixed by Stephane Pompougnac)is a two disc set of 14 songs on each cd. “Emotional Rescue” by Freedom Dub, “Sound of Silence” by Trinity FM, “Adore” by 1:Cube, and “Broken Wings” by Villablack Feat. Juanita Grande are among the multiple chillout/lounge hits in this collection.
“Hed Kandi Classics 2” is a three cd set with 15 songs on each cd. Armand Van Helden, Ultra Nate, Calvin Harris, and Supermode are some of the multiple artists included in this collection. This compilation is a various artist set of dance, disco, and trance music elements.
“Passion Lounge” is a two cd set that has 13 songs on each cd. There are various artists on this collection and many of these songs embody a quiet vibe. Others may like this cd more, but I felt that many of the songs invoked more of a background music type of vibe rather than the passionate themed music that I was hoping for. This compilation is more suited to those who are fine with elevator type music.
“Café Del Mar Vol. 16” (Café Del Mar Volumen Dieciseis) is a two cd set with 16 various artists on each set. This compilation features a mix of mystical and chillout music. For instance, “Sky In Your Eyes” by Elmara, “Inner Music” by Alexander Vogelle feat. Jillene Luce, and “Atlantis” by Rue Du Soleil are some of the chillout songs in this compilation that have a mystical element to them.
“Café Del Mar 30 Years”(1980-2010) is a two cd set that has 16 songs on the first cd and 15 songs on the second. This is a various artist collection that combines elements of chillout, lounge, and café music. I have had this collection since August 2011. However, I have also been familiar with chillout/lounge music since 2005. My husband introduced me to this genre during our first year of marriage and I purchased my first Café Del Mar set in December 2005 (Café Del Mar. Vol. 9).
“100 Hits Chilled” is a various artist compilation with 20 songs on each of the five cds. The “100 Hits Chilled” compilation includes the following music artists: Royksopp, Fatboy Slim Feat. Macy Gray, Moloko, Groove Armada, The Karminsky Experience, Moloko, Iio, Chicane, Jakatta, Angel City, DJ Sammy & Yanou, Deepest Blue, Afterlife, Akasha, The Sabres of Paradise, Boards of Canada, Bliss, The Herbaliser, and Hybrid. “100 Hits Chilled” is a good five cd set that is good for those who enjoy peaceful and lounge like chillout tunes.
“Dreamchaser” by Sarah Brightman contains musical melodies that blend chillout and classical elements. “Angel”, “On A Day Like This”, “Breath Me”, and “Venus and Mars” showcase the soul of her singing behind the songs. “Dream Chaser” by Sarah Brightman is good for those who are already familiar with her music and/or those who like classical music with hints of chillout and pop melodies.
“Best of Club Hits Volume 1 Mixed by DJ Geoffe” is a two cd set that contains 13 songs on each cd. Sonique, Amber, Daft Punk, Deborah Cox, Samantha Mumba, Eiffel 65, Alice Deejay, Moby, Ian Van Dahl, Darude, Fragma, ATB, and Delerium Feat. Sarah McLachlan are among some of the musical artists that are featured on this compilation. I originally discovered and enjoyed this collection back in 2004 (evokes multiple memories that are positive). “Best of Club Hits Volume 1 Mixed by DJ Geoffe” is great for those who like dance/trance music with a club theme.
