The Way Way Back is a nice coming of age story with a great setting. All the performances are well done and it's nice to see Steve Carell take on a dramatic role every once in awhile. Recommended.

I originally saw Tusk in theaters after not trying to read too much about it. After viewing, I wasn't quite sure about what I watched, but I needed to see it again. Once the Blu-Ray came out, I picked it up on release date and went home to watch It. Upon second viewing, I can easily say that Tusk is a very enjoyable and unique film. The only bits that bring it down for me are the longer scenes with Depp's character. If you are on the fence, think Misery meets the Human Centipede.

I will be completely honest, i hated this movie when i saw it in theaters. I was bothered that after seeing previews showcasing a large amount of Godzilla and battles, the film itself is very thin on monster action and the big buy. The characters/acting were uninteresting, except for one Bryan Cranston, and nothing else seemed to blow me away. After taking some time and seeing friends love the movie, I decided to give Godzilla another shot on 3D Blu-Ray.
I am happy to say that I did enjoy Godzilla more the second time, but it still has its problems. The somewhat lackluster performances and hidden Godzilla still bother me a little bit, but overall now I see the film in a positive light. The 3D was incredibe during well lit scenes and just good during darker ones.
If you were disappointed with Godzilla on first viewing I recommend giving it another chance.

The People Under the Stairs is a crazy, twisted, funny, and very enjoyable film that may be over looked by most. Released in 1991, the film was a modest success and easily won me over. After having not watched it in over 15 years, I ordered the Blu-Ray and can say that it has actually held up quite well. Their will always be a certain cheesiness about it, but in comparing this to other films of the time, it doesn't feel old. The picture quality is quite good also and I would assign a rating of 4/5. If you enjoy crazy horror/comedies, you owe it to yourself to give The People Under the Stairs a watch.

Growing up on Scooby-Doo episodes and the many movies, I decided to give Frankencreepy a shot after the disappointing (but slightly likeable) live action films and following direct to video animated films. While I passed on recent ones such as the wrestling feature, I found enough to like out of this outing to give future films a shot. The voice work was well done and some of the gags were quite funny. It was enjoyable to see influences of Edgar Wright thrown in there too. The story didn't always work, but it wasn't terrible. Hopefully, Frankencreepy will be the jump start Scooby-Doo needs to return to form.

The Raid 2 is without a doubt my favorite martial arts film ever created. When it was announced, I was intrigued, but did not think it could top the original. After seeing it in theaters, this was one of the best theatrical experiences in recent years. While the first film was one giant fight scene, the second is truly a complete package. Everything from the story to the acting was fantastic. Did I mention the fight scenes? Out of this world amazing. While it's tough to pick a favorite, I would have to go with the Kitchen fight and car chase as marquee moments. Do yourself a favor and watch this immediately. You won't regret it.

Before Stage Fright, Director Jerome Sable made the hilarious and bloody short film The Legend of Beaver dam. Beaver Dam had me highly interested in seeing Stage Fright, and although it did not become an instant favorite, I still enjoyed Sable's first full length film. The performances are well done and the death scenes are creative and fun, but the story could have been better. A few of the songs are also catchy. The inclusion of The Legend of Beaver Dam on a separate disc elevated my rating from 3 and a half stars to 4. Bonus points for Meatloaf also.

Although I have never read the graphic novel, I enjoyed Batman: Year One, short run time and all. An up and coming Jim Gordon takes top billing in this origin story and is fantastically voiced by Bryan Cranston. It was nice to see a young Batman appear vulnerable, but the voice actor choice seemed a bit off. Short by even DCU animated standard, the runtime is around a mere hour. An extra 10 or so minutes could have made this story truly great. Video quality was also just standard for an earlier DCU movie. Minus a couple complaints, I would still recommend this film to a Batman fan.

I have been a Battlefield fan since 1943, but Battlefield 4 has changed my opinion. I bought this for he ps3 and then used the digital upgrade to get the PS4 version and I can say that both versions had plenty of issues. From being dropped online to an enemies health being 0 and not dying, the issues turned into game breaking bugs. Another issue with the game is the decision to change how you join games with your friends. It is not friendly to say the least. I woukd avoid this game until a few months from now when things are completely fixed.

She's out of my League is a film that went mostly unnoticed in theaters and that is disappointing. Everything from the acting to the story and writing are highly enjoyable and deserving of a watch. The film is rated R for a reason so for those who are adverse to a lot of swearing would probably need to avoid this. Other than that, I highly recommend giving She's out of my League a chance.
