Another Immaculate Criterion Release

This is a must own classic for Western fans that chronicles the struggle of a Rancher driven into financial ruin by drought which forces him to take on a dangerous job for a bit of cash. He must escort a dangerous outlaw by the name of Ben Wade to a train bound for Yuma while being hunted and persued by the rest of Wade's gang. It's a suspenseful tale and this original film adaptation of Elmore Leonard's story is devoid of the action set pieces and superfluous drama that the 2007 remake featured.
Criterion presents 3:10 to Yuma with one of it's most stunning transfers--perfectly showcasing the beauty of black and white photography. It also features a nice even grain that keeps the picture looking natural and provides a nice texture. A lossless mono soundtrack is available for purists and a 5.1 audio option is also available. The package is rounded off with several interviews an essay and beautiful cover art. It's a bit pricy, but Criterion's films are always a cut above.

The United States has a military presence in two-thirds of countries around the world. A group of 12 have had enough and initiate a terror ultimatum called the Blacklist — a deadly countdown of escalating terrorist attacks on U.S. interests. Sam Fisher is the leader of the newly formed 4th Echelon unit: a clandestine unit that answers solely to the president of the United States. Sam and his team must hunt down these terrorists by any means necessary and stop the Blacklist countdown before it reaches zero.

Splinter Cell Double Agent and conviction weren't so great, but Fisher has made a comeback in Blacklist. Spies Vs. Mercs is back, the compaign features some classic missions and co-op is enjoyable and rewarding. All of these modes are strung together by allowing you to earn cash for upgrades and make the game very repayable. Visuals are solid (the PC version is extra nice with DX11 features) and Xbox players should know that there is a 3gb texture install. Textures can look muddy on the Xbox at times in spite of this. Fans of Spies Vs. Mercs will want to stick with classic mode to enjoy perfectly balanced classes since blacklist now allows spies to carry guns. Check out the full video review of a more thorough look at Blacklist!
My Best Buy number: 2208119638
What's great about it: Great singleplayer, co-op and Multiplayer, Exploring the Paladin, stand out campaign moments
What's not so great: Easy, No Michael Ironside, upgrades in Spies Vs Mercs, Story lacks a social conscience

While Life of Brian may be my personal favorite Monty Python film, it's hard to argue against Holy Grail being the quintessential MP classic. Ridiculous, quotable and hilarious, this is essential comedy. This blu ray offers the best presentation of this classic to date with all of the special features that your DVD offers.

This film is perhaps one of the most relevant and heart wrenching films centered around the Vietnam War. DeNiro and Walken deliver excellent performances and are truly memorable in this classic film. The Picture is clean and crisp and audio is solid.

For Comic Book and Fighting Game Fans Alike

On the heels of NetherRealms 2011 release of Mortal Kombat, Injustice is a DC centric fighting game boasting 24 characters and several modes to ensure hours of playtime. While the story is a campy affair and littered with campy dialog, the structure is a major step forward for games in the genre. Following Mortal Kombat's lead it passes you between several characters who tell their part in the tale. Graphically the cutscenes are not impressive as they tend to be sparse. After finishing the campaign (it's a 4 to 6 hour affair) you can climb arcade ladders in Battle mode, take up mini games and challenges in S.T.A.R. Labs and of course duke it out online. Online modes are stable and allow players to spectate lobbies as well as bet experience on matches, reducing the tedium between bouts. There are hundreds of unlockables and plenty of reasons to continue playing. The clash mechanic, which allows you to gamble your super meter for health is rather annoying as it disrupts the flow of combat and is often abused by the AI. Likewise a special power button feel out of place for some characters. Using this button allows someone like Green Arrow to fire arrows and Batman can summon mechanical bats but a majority of the characters receive a bit of a speed and power buff. These flaws are comparatively minor and Injustice ultimately impresses.
My Best Buy number: 2208119638
What's great about it: Excellent campaign, loads of unlockable content, S.T.A.R. Labs
What's not so great: Lame cutscenes, Silly story with cheesy dialogue, Some combat features just don't work

Lawrence of Arabia is an undisputed cinema classic and as such some iteration of it should probably be in your film library. Boasting a glorious high definition transfer and a comprehensive list of special features this is the preferred version. It's two discs of cinema history that can be had for $10.
