Fully featured and attractive on your counter

The Delonghi Magnifica Evo had me excited from the minute the box arrived at my door. I’ve been looking for an updated replacement for a competitor’s product and I wanted something nicer than their current line. I’ve always associated the Delonghi brand with great coffee so I figured there was no way the Evo could disappoint.
Thankfully I was completely right! Unboxing and setup is very simple and kudos to Delonghi for having a useful, detailed setup guide in the box. I had the unit up and running within a matter of minutes. Once I brewed out the first few pulls of espresso it was making excellent tasting coffee drinks.
The first feature that had me excited was the ‘over ice’ mode since I drink iced coffee 90% of the time. With the adjustable spouts you’ll find most glasses fit easily under the dispenser. You can choose your strength and off it goes, grinding and brewing and making a pretty awesome iced coffee without melting the ice and watering things down. You also have a chute to add pre-ground coffee for a quick cup as needed.
The milk container allows you to fill up with cow milk or a plant based option and is easy to clean up when you’re done. I like that you can easily keep it in the fridge until you’re ready instead of constantly having to fill a separate container or frother every morning.
All in all I’d say this is an easy to use unit that accomplishes the task at hand - making excellent coffee. Well worth the money.

A cool charging station for all your Apple items

I’ve had a similar product for years and it was time to replace due to it being super slow to charge the latest mobile devices. I was excited to pick up this Insignia product since it charges my iPhone 14 Pro, AirPods, and Apple Watch Ultra all at the same time. One of the unique things about this product is the ‘turbo charge’ option that physically cools all devices on the charger to optimize the wattage that can be delivered to them. I might have thought this was a gimmick when I read it, but after putting my hand on my phone after a charge it was quite cold!
The design of this product makes it easy to see the devices on your nightstand - especially useful now that the 14 Pro has the always on screen. It’s also pretty stylish with the stainless steel supports and heavy plastic base. One small nag is that it’s difficult to see the led light on the turbo charge button to know whether or not it has activated. My solution is to turn off the light in my bedroom, but it should be an easy fix to make the light around the button brighter.
All in all I would say this product is a great buy for the price and does everything I needed in an attractive package.

Stellar performance - instructions not so stellar

I recently broke my previous headset on a trip and needed a replacement that would survive a busy day of Teams calls and be very comfortable to wear. My corporate laptop is a Mac and is software restricted so I also needed something that would work right out of the box without a lot of configuration.
The Plantronics Poly Voyager is UC certified and should worj right out of the box with teams. The device comes with a Bluetooth USB dongle for those who need it, but is capable of being paired without it. This ended up being an important distinction, as i didn’t figure out until after I ran into some installation challenges because I’d plugged in the dongle and paired the Bluetooth directly. This caused the computer (and me) to be confused and was easily resolved by unplugging the dongle.
The reason i take off a star has nothing to do with battery performance, comfort, or sound quality. It has everything to do with the lack of a real setup guide. Since i can’t install their software and probably many other corporate users can’t either, there should at least be a setup diagram of that doesn’t consist of three pictures that imply all will work immediately with no further programs.
Will you love the comfort and the battery performance? Without a doubt. I’d buy it again and so should you.

I’ve been looking for a Mac layout Bluetooth keyboard for some time now that was perfectly sized, didn’t require a separate Bluetooth adapter, and from a trusted brand.
Thankfully the opportunity to pick up this new model from Logitech presented itself because it checks all of these boxes and then some.
Right out of the box it’s extremely simple to set up. Turn on the power switch, scan Bluetooth devices, and you’re connected. Helpful hint - if the F1 key isn’t blinking fast when you turn on the switch, hold it for 3 seconds to put in pairing mode for your first device. Not only can you pair to your primary device, you can also pair your iPhone and/or iPad, allowing up to 3 sync’d devices. This feature is something i find super useful as I can type a reply to a message on my phone with a quick key press, only needing to hit the send button on the phone or iPad once complete.
Not only is this keyboard full featured in a compact size, typing on it is GREAT. The key throw is just right, and you get the great resistance that mechanical keyboards are sought for.
All in all I’d say this is a must buy and I’m happy to have a keyboard that finally works with my Mac.

I had been looking for a new headset for my Series X for a while now when the opportunity to pick up the RIG 800 wireless model came up. I was immediately impressed by the reported battery life and Dolby Atmos sound built in, so this seemed like the right choice for the money.
On the positives side - the headset is relatively light given the size of the ear cups. Some weight loss was achieved through removing the adjustable sliders and replacing them with a manual set of holes to choose from. This might present some challenges if you can’t get a good fit from one of the choices, but at least once it’s done you don’t have to adjust them again.
The base works well and is easy to seat the headset into. It has this unusual design where the wireless dongle plugs into the base, then the base into the Xbox. It didn’t make sense at the time so I was struggling to get connected initially but finally figured it out.
Sound performance is great - actually really good for a product at this price point. The cups are comfortable and can be worn for long periods of time without head fatigue.
Where i took off a point is the on-headset controls. I’d have preferred they used both sides and larger, more clear controls than have everything on one side and trying to discern which button or knob does what thing. It’s a distraction when you’re trying to play and need to adjust something. More than once i hit the volume instead of the game/chat mix knob.
All in all, for the money I’d say these are a great way to keep your kids (or adults) connected to the action.

I’ve been wanting a bigger air fryer since getting a smaller model from a name brand a couple of years ago. I use mine very regularly as a way of getting things done quickly in the kitchen, so I’m pretty picky about what I wanted.
Having selected this unit sight unseen, I had high hopes given its larger capacity and touch screen control display. When it arrived I quickly realized we were going to be in average territory at best.
First - while larger than average, the overall quality of the unit left me missing my old one. The pull out basket is not smooth, nor is it made of the kind of plastic that gives you confidence you’re going to be OK shoving it in when it doesn’t go on its own. The touch screen - well that’s a bit of an exaggeration, since a couple of the controls are touch, but the process of switching through the various cooking modes requires pressing a button repeatedly instead of touching the actual function.
Pro tip - if you want to turn off the unit for any reason, you’ll need to know that you have to hold down on the start button on the touch screen for at least 3 seconds. The fan itself will run a little while longer and then it finally shuts down. This posed an interesting exploration of the instruction manual because it wasn’t obvious to me how to shut it off.
For cooking - it did a pretty decent job with the few things I’ve thrown at it so far. The basket design doesn’t lend itself to piling anything in, which makes me wonder what the point of the added capacity is.
Ultimately I’d call this an average air fryer for an average family. I may or may not be pulling my old one back out from under the counter before long.

I am actively training in the gym 5-6 days a week and have been looking for a solution for the dreaded “day after leg day” aches that i typically experience after a hard workout. I own other Hyperice products and have been extremely pleased with the brand so far, which made picking up the Normatec Go an easy decision.
The first thing you’ll enjoy is the absolute simplicity of the product. Both legs had a charge right out of the box and were already synced with each other. The cuffs are easy to put on and with the press of a button I was off and running for a 15 minute cycle. The devices have multiple intensity settings which I definitely underestimated and quickly dialed back from the heaviest one. To be completely portable, no hoses and no wires - these are in one word INCREDIBLE for what they do. Charging is very simple - one very small wall adapter with two usb slots included.
The one thing I paused on to question was why the design was only for lower legs. For the price I’d say the flexibility to use on upper legs would be nice provided the cuffs fit. I haven’t experimented yet but the directions are quite specific. This may change your feelings about what you are getting for the price, but the flexibility of taking these with me anywhere without the hassle of the full leg boots makes them a worthwhile investment for me.

The thing you didn’t know you really needed

This definitely turned into the product that I never knew I needed in my house until I actually got one. I’d seen them in a few different places but none were actually working. After watching a video online I took a chance and ordered one!
There’s something great to be said for anything that can pull me in and make me practice mindfulness even for a few minutes. The Drift does just that - and you’ll quickly be mesmerized by the array of patterns and colors this unit has to offer.
Once you’re connected using the app - of which the process itself is a little unintuitive until you learn what name your Drift goes by in the list of detectable Bluetooth devices around your house - you’ll be presented with a lot of options to customize the device. This includes everything from downloading new patterns for it to “draw”, color configuration, and even timers so that you don’t have to run it 24/7. I have mine set for evenings when I’m most likely to be in the living room, and it automatically turns itself off before I go to bed.
Because it’s constantly being upgraded with new designs and is really just a fun thing to watch, my rating started at a 5. I took away a point for the unintuitive pairing process and lack of clear directions.
Side note - HoMedics customer service was great and jumped right in to help with the pairing; I’d just prefer better instructions than the ones provided.

I've been in the habit of replacing the laptop computer that manages my business every year for the last few years. With the speed at which technology progresses these days, I feel like every time I open a new computer up I'll see marked performance increases across the board.
The Dell XPS 15 definitely did not disappoint when it comes to performance and design. Starting with the design, I'd say that the 15" edge to edge display is crisp, with vivid colors and even backlighting that makes working for hours less difficult on the eyes. The touchpad is absolutely huge and does an excellent job ignoring the heels of my hand dragging across it while typing. All in all I'd say this form factor is excellent if you're going to spend as much time using the screen as you would docked to a larger monitor; otherwise one of the smaller XPS models might be a better solution for you. I couldn't find anywhere at all that Dell skimped on the quality of materials or overall build, which lines up with the quality you should expect of anything with the XPS brand on it.
From a performance standpoint I've been very impressed so far with both processing power and battery life. I work back and forth across multiple applications all day, and I especially like the latest Windows functionality that allows you to set up multiple virtual desktops and swap between them as needed.
Be prepared for a large number of software updates right out of the box, but once they are done you'll find a solid performing computer that will be able to handle all of your productivity and entertainment needs.

Powerful photo and video tool for novice to pro

I’ve been wanting to take my photography and video skills to the next level and when I heard about the significant upgrades the DJI Mini 3 Pro had over the previous generation drone. The one I felt most beneficial was the inclusion of the controller with the built in screen and DJI app. This is a huge improvement over the whole cumbersome task of using your phone as the display and works great outdoors unless you’re in direct sunlight.
Flight operation is very simple even for a beginner and with the number of automated shot features built in I was able to create some pretty awesome video clips on my second time in the air. Whether it be locking onto a target and the drone automatically following (think going for a run) or sending it out on a mission to capture prime angles of the Dallas skyline, I’m already seeing a lot of ways to put it to use.
Downloading your content from the done SD to your phone is a super easy process with a direct wireless connection between the two. Other features require a little digging - like connecting the Wi-Fi to your phone as a hotspot so the internal maps work.
All in all I found this an incredible tool for jumping into the world of drone flight and I’m excited to keep learning how to push my skills forward.

Is it normal for this mouse to make clicking noises when the computer boots up? It clicks as if I were toggling the scroll mode, but I'm not touching the mouse.
I don’t know about whether or not it’s normal but mine does it too. Didn’t even put two and two together until i read your question. It sounds like the clutch on the scroll wheel engaging and disengaging as the power to the USB port changes.
