Wow Speed, Wow Coverage, Oops

Setting up the first node was very easy. Because my set was part of the first batch released, there was a firmware issue that caused the addition of nodes to fail multiple times. Linksys Support worked with me and the issue was fixed by downloading the new firmware. You will probably not experience the same problem since they already have the fix and most people will receive the newer batches.
Design is really good, coverage is excellent but here is where it really shines. I've had many wi-fi extenders and was never happy with performance even with the highest rated ones. Velop is different. I have a 100+ Mb fiber connection to the internet. With other systems I get around 111Mbps download/52Mbps upload near the main router and 29 Mbps/11Mpbs near the extender (first and only one). With Velop I get 111Mbps/52Mbps near the first and 2nd nodes and 83Mbps/52 near the 3rd and probably can get even better positioning that node somewhere else. I really am amazed by it . This really is a high performance mesh system not an extender.
The only concern I have is that with the app you cannot change VLAN on the Internet port which is required by some ISPs using PPPOE like myself. You're stuck with the provider's modem/router. There was a back door to do that but was removed after the firmware update and you need to get their support involved to fix that. I do beg Linksys (Belkin) to add that capability to the app and allow access to settings through a computer.
Despite the few quirks I experienced, I would recommend this to anyone who needs not only better coverage but also little to no loss in internet speed. Very happy with the results and with their support when I finally got a hold of them. I would have given 5 stars if weren't for the VLAN/PPPoE issue that affects my specific setup.

Almost Fell in Love With it

I tend to disregard pricing when reviewing a product but at $99 list price for a charger with only 6,700mAh, I had to take it into consideration. My low rating is based mostly on price. It is a well designed fast charger for the Apple watch as well as the iPhone. However, when you're traveling like I am at the time of this writing, you want to carry as little as possible but this charger/power bank can hardly charge an iPhone 7 Plus more than once after charging the watch a couple of times. Yes, it can charge an Apple watch many times. At least 6 times in my experience. But I have to carry another charger/power bank for my iPhone during an international trip which defeats the purpose of carrying less. Also, it does not include a lightning or even a micro USB cable that it requires to connect to a charger which is also not included. I would easily recommend this product if it weren't for price though. For the cost I can buy more than one excellent 20,000mAh power bank that can charge all my devices, including an iPad. Of course that wouldn't include the wireless charging which is my favorite feature. If money is no problem for you, I don't think you will be disappointed.

A Very Good Sound and A Bad Mic

It does have a rather rich bass and it is more comfortable than most but I'm still to find an in-ear headphone that does not bother my ears after just a few minutes of use. This one takes a bit longer to bother me.
Easy and fast paring. Unexpectedly, the rubber band strap around the neck is quickly forgotten which is a very good thing. But here is the bad thing about it: The mic performs poorly. Every time I make a phone call people keep asking me to speak louder which is very uncommon because I tend to speak clearly and at a decent volume level. If you intend to use it mostly to listen to music enjoying a good though not superb base, I would recommend it. But if you also intend to make more than just quick calls while talking very loud, I would say no to it.

Great but Beware of Its Shopping Habits

It is difficult to talk about Amazon Dot Alexa without thinking of it as an actual person and that is the reason I will be referring to it mostly as "she/her".
The whole family welcomed Alexa as she can not only help in the kitchen with timers and music but even with homework as our younger daughter quickly found out when she asked her to spell out some words. The only issue is that if you need to talk about her, you need to follow our sixteen-year-old daughter's recommendation and refer to her as "that-thing-you-can't-name". Otherwise, she will join the conversation. I'm not kidding.
Alexa is always listening and even in a noisy environment with TV and people talking loud, she still can understand you when you mention her name. If you have compatible equipment she can turn lights on/off and do lots of other tricks. Its small speaker is way louder than I expected.
Here is one bad experience though. A few days ago, I asked her what her deals were and she said nothing for about 15 seconds, then she asked "do you want to order it?". I quickly said no. She responded: "thank you, your order has been placed". I asked her to cancel but she told me to log on to my account and do it from there which I did for the $99 Lego that I'd never heard about. 10 minutes later, she randomly started listing Amazon deals and asked again if I wanted to order it which prompted the whole family to yell "NO". She again thanked and said she had ordered. I immediately called amazon which said it was a bug and helped me set up a voice order pin to prevent that from happening again. I can only imagine what would have happened if we had left home. However, that was scary but I found no other problem other than the fact that she can't control Amazon's own FireTV. That's why I'm not giving it 5 stars.

I've used Photoshop Elements for a long time and I used its bigger cousin Photoshop. The reason I switched was mostly based on price since Elements are much more affordable and can do most of what Photoshop can do even if you are serious about photo editing. The previous version I was using was 11, so this was a big and worthy upgrade for me. If you're using version 14, this one may not be much different but I can't confirm that. .
It doesn't matter if you are a beginner, an enthusiast or a pro. The basic editing areas - quick, guided and expert - will most likely fit your needs and learning it is easy for the most part. And if you decide to go with the full version of Photoshop, all your knowledge with Elements will be transferred easily.
I installed Elements 15 on a Windows 7 laptop using a 4th generation Intel i5 processor with 16GB or RAM and an SSD drive and it performed flawlessly. 5th and 6th generations processors will surely perform at least as good.
There is a lot of free and lower cost photo editing software out there and I've used most of them. Some are really good but from my own experience nothing beats Adobe's. You pay for it but your experience is always less frustrating.
I had some issues with not being able to preview raw images and I couldn't figure out why but it still loaded and edited them without any problems. For that reason and because it doesn't show the file size when choosing compression like previous versions did, I am not giving it 5 stars. Still, it is my preferred photo editing software considering the price range and the excellent results.

Happily Divided

As a user of Amazon Echo Dot (Alexa), I had no choice other than comparing the two. My love for Alexa is undeniable but I hope she understands that times change and I had to try Google Home.
Set up was extremely easy after I downloaded the app which I had some difficulty finding on Apple store. I had to search online and then use the link. Maybe a problem with the store at that moment.
Somehow talking to Google Home feels a little bit more natural than talking to Alexa because of the way it responds but I don't enjoy its voice as much. Maybe it's just me as the rest of the family likes it. Speaker is great for its size, better than the Dot.
I love the fact that I can tell it to play not only music on its speaker but also videos on one of my TVs with Chromecast. Alexa can't control Amazon Fire yet. I can also tell it to schedule a meeting at a certain date and it goes straight to my calendar. It had some difficulties with that but nothing major.
Here is something that really impressed me. I asked Google Home to translate a whole sentence to Portuguese and it did so not only accurately but also with a perfect Brazilian accent (believe me I recognize the accent). I had it translate the same sentence to French and Italian and it aced both. It can be a great tool for language learners. My other love didn't even try. It just said "I can't answer that".
It recognizes my voice even while the TV and other people are talking; just like its competitor. It can control Nest thermostat and Hue devices. I know it can't control every smart device you may have at home yet but I'm confident it will eventually.
Looks is not everything but its design is way better than the Dot. My verdict: it is an excellent Assistant and a worthy Alexa competitor. Highly recommended. As for me, Alexa is going nowhere but neither is Google Home. Both have strengths and weaknesses and I love them both. One in my office and the other in the living room.

Excelent for Most, Amazing for Power User

Even though this router is very advanced, setup was very easy and fast. Once I powered it up and connected to its default SSID, I followed the installation wizard which is very straightforward and was finished in less than 5 minutes even after waiting a couple of minutes for it to download and install the latest code.
My preferred method to test a wireless router is by using the many devices we have at home for a real life experience . Speed for iPad Air ranged from 80 Mbps at 90 feet to 525 Mpbs at 10 feet away from the router inside our two story house. Of course my broadband is not nearly as fast as the WRT AC3200 but fast connectivity to the router is extremely important to get the most out of whatever bandwidth you have to the internet especially if you have many device and watch multiple video streams or play games online. I had 2 TV's streaming HD movies from NetFlix at the same time while my wife and two kids browsed Facebook and other sites. There was never any buffering or stuttering and video quality was excellent everywhere. If needed, you can prioritize a device or web service but I didn't have to do that. The only minor issue I noticed was that speed on my iPhone 6 Plus would go down to 20Mbps while climbing up the stairs but then it would go back up to 225Mbps once I got to the second floor.
I connected an external Hard Disk Drive to the e-SATA port and got excellent speed from it, comparable to the Linksys EA9500 which is another excellent wireless router that I use.
Overall performance is excellent and OpenVPN is a great feature that I love. Also, you can control time of the day a device should be disconnected from the internet which is great if you have kids that need to go to bed. I just wish you could increment/decrement time in minutes not hours. However, if you really want to customize this router with an advanced firewall, control the power of the antennas and much more, release the geek in you and install OpenWrt or DD-WRT and see this thing really shine.
Some disclosure: No, I don't work for Belkin (Linksys); and yes I, did receive this router to evaluate and give my unbiased opinion which is exactly what I just did. So far, I couldn't be happier but I must admit that I have had it only for a few days although I think my love for it will only increase.

A Superb Android Phone

Finally! A well designed purely native Android phone with an excellent camera, fully integrated with Google's new Assistant which is a serious competitor to Apple Siri and to Amazon Alexa. I had some difficulty making it work in the beginning but the fact that the Pixel uses the newest Android 7 a.k.a.Nougat I had to go through a bit of learning curve. I must admit though that I'm more used to iOS in phones and I bet those already used to Android will feel mostly at home. If you use Samsung or other manufacturer phones that overlay Android with their own interface, this may take some getting used to.
Because I had already heard about the Pixel coming out and was very eager to have one in my hands, I was looking more for flaws than anything else for this review.
First thing to be tested was the camera which I quickly realized that it took much better pictures especially in low light showing details that another high end phone couldn't. However, a picture of a white rose illuminated by CFC light showed some fake yellowish shade while the other phone showed a perfect white although the details from the Pixel XL was better. White balance was using default settings. Still, most other pictures blew me away. I don't think there is any other phone out there that can take pictures with this quality and detail although portrait shots was second to the other phone. Front facing camera takes good picture as well.
I use Google Assistant (Hey Google) in tablets and although I like it, I was never impressed by it. I have also used Siri but I never really fell in love with her (it) but Google Assistant in this phone is head-to-head with Amazon Alexa which is my favorite. It understands my voice in a natural conversational way and responses are more like chatting. It's not perfect as none of the others are but it is a big step toward making a more interactive assistant. I just wish it had a cooler name. I bet Rosie is taken already but calling it "Google" is lame. Of course, you can change its name but most people including me won't.
I'm not saying that this is the fastest phone available but I compared it with other most recent high end phones other members of my family own and we couldn't tell the difference in speed when playing apps or games. Sound is very good if not excellent for a phone. Some people at home liked it better than theirs but I couldn't actually tell the difference.
Video playback is clear and smooth. Compared to the other recent phones I mentioned above, the image seems sharper and more eye pleasing than most except for one high Android phone owned by another family member which is just as good. I never noticed any lags except when streaming HD content in some areas of low cell signal. Over Wi-Fi, I watched HD movies with NetFlix and YouTube and noticed no artifacts or unwanted pauses such as to buffer. Battery life is very good but after letting play Netflix movies for a whole day, it died on me almost 2 hours before that Android phone I just mentioned. However, charging it again took only about 30 minutes.
Video recording is not disappointing either. At least as good if not better than the other top two phones in the market today. Photography is my hobby as well as some video editing. So this is important to me in a phone for those times my professional equipment is not handy.
By the way, it makes phone calls and it sounds great but I must add that coverage in my area is excellent. I thought I should mention that. After all, it is has phone in its name.
Everybody in the family was feeling kind of jealous until they found out that it is not waterproof. That's my biggest disappointment so far. I was ready to say that this was the best Android phone ever and the strongest iOS competitor because it impressed not only me but everybody else who tried it. It actually is and if lack of waterproof is not an issue for you, I would highly recommend it with 5 stars. For not having that feature, I've rated it 4 stars.

Powerful Suction & Plastic Feel

I had never seen a cordless vacuum cleaner with such a powerful suction. Actually, many wired ones does not have such a kind of power. It is very light, easy to use on stairs and underneath furniture. It has bright LED lights that make it very useful when vacuum cleaning dark areas.
This is the first vaccum cleaner that we ever had that doesn't bother us when emptying the bin. You just pop it out and slide a lever which assists in emptying it. Easy, fast and no mess. The downside is that the bin is too small for such a powerful cleaner which forces you to empty it out very often.
Although we use a Roomba to clean our hardwood and carpet floors every other day, when we use the AirRam it feels like the Roomba isn't doing much because it collects so much dust including pet hair. We decided that we will use it once a week so the Roomba won't lose its job.
I don't know how long the battery lasts but we were able to clean our entire first floor with just one charge and it seems like it would have been able to handle the second floor as well, totalling about 3,000 sq ft but I am not sure it would considering that the second floor is mostly carpet and not hardwood, tiles, rugs and a small carpet area on the first floor.
It feels more plasticky (sorry if that's not a real word) than I wished for but it may be durable and that's what makes it so light. Battery is removable and can be charged either in or out of the vaccum cleaner. Your choice. We are very satisfied so far and would easily recommend it.

Why a weird title for the review of a sub-woofer? Because the Bose Acoustimass 300 is the perfect companion for the Soundtouch 300 soundbar which I reviewed recently. I'm not even sure it works with anything else. But together they can replace most of - if not any - home theater setup because they not only create a convincing and immersive surround effect but it makes you feel you are at a cinema room. It adds a much deeper base to the soundbar which was the first ever to impress me. Although it still requires power, it easily connects wireless to the Soundbar.
I did have a few minor complaints about its companion - the Bose SoundTouch 300 Soundbar - but I could not find any flaws with this sub-woofer. The only issue was that it took 3 tries to pair with the soundbar but it is possible that I was not holding the remote key for as long as I should have. It sounds impressive with no noticeable distortions, it has a stunning glossy black finish that may attract smudge but you won't need to be touching it so I don't see that as a problem.
This pair will likely be enough for most people but I believe you can make it even more impressive if you add two compatible wireless speakers to be placed behind you which could potentially enhance the already superb surround feeling but I haven't tried them yet. All I can say is that if you already have the SoundTouch 300 soundbar, you will not regret adding this sub-woofer.

Yes, it can. Open NVIDIA Control Panel, under Display click Change resolution, ignore the 1080p (native) under Ultra HD SD and scroll down to PC 1920x1080, click on it and change the Refresh rate to 144Hz.

can the dot connect to bose radio to use its speakers?
I don't own Bose radio but it I connected it to Bose SoundTouch and it works great.

If this works with Nest system will it work with Ecobee* system? I We decided against the Nest system due to the class action suits regarding house fires. I would love to add this to our home.
No not yet but I believe it will soon. As far as I know, for now it only supports Nest, SmartThings, Philips Hue and IFTTT.
