The One...

Presentation
The Dyson - V11 Torque Drive is packaged in a diminutive box with clear instructions on how to assemble and operate. Having owned a V7 and the V10 for several years, this unit feels just as solid as any Dyson product we’ve owned but with one major caveat… this design is a major step forward on the cord-free front.
Initial Setup
Setup was quick, simple and straightforward. Assembling the few components of the system required little effort and went together firmly. The unit comes with an internal battery pack that is rated to run up to 1 full hour on the lowest or automatic power settings. If there is an Achilles heel to Dyson stick products it is the mere fact that the batteries are concealed and non-removable. Assembly took less than 5 minutes and we proceeded to top off the battery. This system comes with a full array of attachments which should please most owners. It is a full featured vacuum. The color palette is also pleasing and very modern. The design changes to the filtration system are also a welcomed improvement. Some will notice the added weight straight away but considering the bump in power, it’s to be expected and there’s no impact on maneuverability or use.
Performance
The controls and display on the handle are easy to read and easy to use. The display is a big & bright, the one-touch control button intuitive to use and the remaining run-time gauge is a welcomed & valuable advancement. No more guessing as to “what’s left in the tank …”.
At its lowest speed, Eco Mode, this unit is whisper quiet and still does an excellent job of cleaning hardwood floors, runners and area rugs. For carpeted areas in our home, we found ourselves sticking with the medium speed. Frankly speaking, we’ve not found any reason to drive this cord-less Dyson at its highest speed. But compared to the V10, the high-speed sound of the V11 is smoother and more pleasant.
Our biggest traffic area is a 12 x 9 area run in our great room and when we retraced our cleaning efforts after first using our trusty V10 we were surprised to find that the V11 extracted another 1/3 of dust bin capacity – on the lowest speed setting (due to the density of the pile). That was proof enough to us that this new model was vastly improved over its predecessors – where it counts most – extraction. Whatever the improvements were – the increased suction or improvement in the cleaning head – they all add up to a huge bump in performance.
Summary
The V11 demonstrates a major advancement across all Dyson design points.
On a large 12 x 9 area rug, this vacuum picked up a significant amount of dust, dander and dirt left behind by our V10. Truly amazing.
Pros:
Ease of setup.
Extremely quiet at the lowest speed and much quieter at high speed vs. the V10 line.
Does an excellent job of cleaning, compared to the previous generation – even at the lowest setting.
Plenty of reserve battery power and a run time gauge that is second to none.
Excellent balance and comfortable to use, even with the added battery weight.
Larger capacity dust bin that is easier to empty.
Cons:
Non-removable battery tech.
We cannot recommend this product enough – even at the full retail price.
It’s just that good.

Not quite perfect ...

The Marshall - MONITOR's are a really nice attempt at 'high end' wireless blue tooth headphone. From the moment you take them out of the box, you'll feel the quality of the materials, the attention to detail and the solid construction. Unfortunately, the complete experience was anything but perfect and I'm not entirely sold.
First off, Marshall states that these are 'over-the-ear' monitors but the ear cups are surprisingly too small (and I have average to smallish ears...) and are really more like an on-the-ear/over-the-ear hybrid. The comfort factor is definitely strong from a materials and shape standpoint but the fact that the ear cups press down upon the circumference of the entire ear is an odd, intrusive feeling. I truly wish Marshall would have made the ear cups larger... to accommodate average to larger ears.
The overall structure does lend itself to a moderate amount of flex, so with that and the comfortable head band (the head band construction doesn't look comfortable but in fact it is...), these are generally a snug fitting, well-balanced pair of headphones. Weight is good in that they feel solidly constructed for their size but not painfully heavy. If only the ear cups were just a tad bit bigger...
The single brass finished control joystick is kind of cool but does take some time to figure out. More importantly, and my biggest complaint about these headphones, is the horrible pairing arrangement. The user manual explicitly states that you need to hold down the button for a mere 5 seconds when pairing these to your phone or other device. I struggled with this set up step for a long time and became rather frustrated. Leaving nothing to chance, I contacted their support line and was directed to hold down the button for 20+ seconds to actually get the headphones to pair with my Android phone. Wait. What? There's a big difference between 5 seconds stated in the manual and the 20 some seconds it actually took for these to become visible to my device. The customer service agent at Marshall was polite enough and explained that they were aware of the issue and "working on it".
Wait. What? Hasn't this product been around since 2017? What more do they have to do to "work on it". Simply update the user manual on the website and strategically place a customer notification somewhere on the website's product page. I see this as a glaring oversight, especially with nearly 2 years of product availability.
Moving on, I can say that the fidelity is stunning. Sound is highly subjective but a good set of headphones, with a favorable response to on-board equalization, is a thing to behold. And the Marshall - MONITORs don't disappoint. These headphones sound just as good as many other wired sets I've owned or demo'd. There is plenty of volume output, solid bass response and smooth clarity from the mid range to the top end. It is these redeeming qualities that kept this review from tanking hard. It should be noted that using the included cable also produced excellent results - almost indistinguishable to their wireless operation. That's a rarity.
Battery life is also outstanding for their size and for the full bodied sound that these headphones produce. I averaged 25 to 35 hours depending on the content, distance and overall volume. Now that's pretty impressive.
So in a nutshell, if the comfort is suited for your particular head (you'll know right away upon trying them on...) and you're already aware that the pairing step takes 20 seconds instead of 5 - thereby avoiding the frustration of no connection/no device found - then these headphones have a lot to offer.
I can only recommend these to some folks.... as fit & comfort is the make or break for headphones, no matter how well they sound.

One of the best ...

The Logitech G935 is a solid offering. The design has clean lines and just enough accent lighting. I was pleasantly surprised with the ease of set up. Although I am not a fan of Logitech migrating to their G Hub software exclusively for this product, everything still went smoothly. The wireless range is strong and I didn't experience any spurious disconnection issues.
The audio and microphone performance of this headset is top-shelf and it's strongest attributes. Having purchased, owned or otherwise reviewed a wide range of wireless headsets, I personally find the Logitech G935 to be the 'best of breed' regarding range of volume, clarity and overall fidelity. The 50mm drivers do an outstanding job of reproducing the full spectrum, most notably in the mid-range and bass frequencies. Treble is also very smooth and not overly bright. This headset has the best overall sound of any wireless offering I've heard over the past several years. And having that little bit of extra gain with respect to max volume is very important to me. So many wireless headsets these days just don't get loud enough for me.
The onboard controls are logically placed and easy to adapt to, another high point for this design. Overall comfort is good although the ear pads are not as comfortable as cloth/micro fiber material and since the geometry of the human head can very so much, I suspect there will be those that dislike wearing them for extended periods of time ... or at all. For me, the comfort is good and the compliant foam is just right.
Battery life is solid, beating the specifications by a little bit, but it remains to be seen if it can consistently provide this type of reliable power between charges at the 6 month, 12 month and longer age-points. No matter, Logitech stands behind this product with a 2-year warranty, so I'm not really concerned. I would recommend using these with the lighting disabled for serious game-play to maximize game time without worry. Or if it's a marathon session, just use the cable.
Overall I would highly recommend this headset.
Individuals will need to decide on the comfort level by trying them out personally, but I believe few (if any) can & will complain about the operation and the outstanding audio performance.
Give them a try !

Fans of Rotary Head designs should like ...
on January 9, 2019
Posted by: YourMainDude
from The South
The S9000 Prestige Electric Shaver with the Qi-Charge base is a good product for fans of rotary head designs over the years but it does have some shortcomings and the 'linear' crowd will probably not be enticed to make the switch.
The S9000 Prestige Electric Shaver with the Qi-Charging comes in an efficient package with a trimmer attachment and a wonderful premium carrying case. My sample arrived with about a 50% battery level and I was pleased to see how quickly it charged to 100% sitting on the Qi base. Unfortunately, the first noticeable downside to this design is the rapid discharge experienced after approximately 5 minutes of shave time - which I will cover in more detail later.
The shaver is attractive in it's design and color scheme. It is much lighter in-hand than I had anticipated, almost a bit too light, which detracts from the perception of a solid - quality design (when compared to my experience with Norelco shavers of the past). The grips are good and the overall ergonomics are sound, with a big display and easily used controls.
In operation, the shaver is amazingly quiet at all three speeds which was unexpected. I'm not quite sure the real benefit to having three rotational speeds after trying them all on different days didn't produce any appreciable qualities differences to the results. Nonetheless, even at this shaver's highest speed the 'sound quality' is pretty nice.
What I did find rather disappointing was the shavers battery performance and this probably has a lot to do with the fact that the internal battery is small in capacity. On average, using the middle speed setting, the battery capacity would routinely drop by 12 to 16 percent for a 5 minute shaving session. I personally find this amount of drain unacceptable with respect to traveling without the charging base. I routinely get 7+ days of solid usage from a competing 'linear' based competitor and find confidence in knowing that I can go a solid week without worrying about recharging while on the road. I don't have that same confidence with this shaver. It seems to me that at this price-point, designing in a larger capacity battery would enhance this facet of usage whilst at the same time increasing the weight of the unit - thereby enhancing the perception of quality. YMMV
With respect to the quality of the shave, I found this shaver to give a nice and comfortable close shave over the course of a week or so. My only gripe would be that I personally achieve a better quality of shave in the neck region from a linear design. I was hoping that after many years of not owning a Norelco rotary design that by now they would have come closer to perfecting overall performance no matter what region was being tackled - but for me - this shaver takes much effort to achieve an effective neck shave.
Overall, I think this design is a big win for established customers of Norelco rotary designs and will appeal to many of them at that point where they are upgrading. It looks stylish, is ergonomically designed without any big variance from previous Norelco designs in terms of structure and from what I can tell - is notably quieter than older designs. But it stills feels a bit light and cheap in the hand for my tastes.

Performs Quite Well For a Little Guy ...
on December 26, 2018

The Epson WorkForce ES-55R portable scanner is a solid performer for it's diminutive size. I was honestly quite shocked how well this super compact device performed and how easy it was to setup. Epson went the extra mile here supplying all the necessary tools and direction to quickly configure this scanner and the Software Updater Utility is straight forward and intuitive to use.
Although small, this scanner auto feeds precisely and it does it quick. Running through a series of differing document types I was amazed how clear and readable the resulting PDF's were. Speaking of PDFs, Epson includes Nuance Stanard PDF software which has all the necessary & fundamental functions more everyone will require. The EPSON Smart Scan Utility also includes the necessary integration into Quickbooks, Quicken and Turbo Tax. It was too early to give the Turbo Tax integration a test drive - being December and all - but I look forward to testing that part out in the coming New Year. Regardless, kudos to Epson for including these business/home office enhancements into the product solution.
Pros:
Small, quiet and precise.
Excellent 600 DPI hardware resolution that keeps pace with much larger scanner products or All-in-ones.
A complete set of software tools and extra 'accounting' software integration features.
Easy to store in a computer bag or drawer when not in use.
Simple, single-cable connectivity - as it's powered off USB.
It's about as small as you can get yet feels solid and reliable in hand and in use. So in other words, it doesn't feel cheaply constructed like a toy...
Cons:
Absolutely none!
I highly recommend the Epson WorkForce ES-55R for anyone wanting a portable scanner for home or business. Epson has a long history of providing quality scanner products over the decades and the Epson WorkForce ES-55R is no exception. It's a winner with proven pedigree.

A great step up from the previous Generation ...
on December 5, 2018

The Ninja – Smart Screen 72-Oz. Blender DUO with FreshVac is massive unit with a generously sized pitcher, plenty of power for any demanding task and easy conversion to a nutritional shake station thereby eliminating the need for two different appliances. Anyone with a small kitchen and limited counter space should love this this appliance.
Over the course of a few weeks of using the Blender DUO, it conquered every task we threw at it. From crushing ice, to blending down soups, to preparing frozen smoothie or veggie nutritional drinks – this thing worked flawlessly. Having three speeds is very handy, especially when you want to slow things down to add ingredients. The controls are pretty straightforward and after a simple read of the user’s manual, everything should be pretty easy to master.
The inclusion of the Auto-IQ feature is a really nice touch and makes the final results near perfect every time. The automatic pulsing and stops to let things settle pretty much eliminates any need for the operator to pop the lid and use a spoon to move ingredients around.
The frozen drink mode worked like a charm. The main pitcher is generous although a tad bit smaller in capacity compared to the previous generation and comes with a solid lid and a reassuring interlocking system. We really can’t imagine anyone needing more capacity that this thing provides.
The big ‘new’ feature of this model beyond its stealthier looks and the smart-touch display is the inclusion of the FreshVac air removal component. Using it is simple and connects to the top of the pitcher with ease and solid snap-in action. It does make a world of difference in the consistency and smoothness of the blended product. An added bonus in the ability to use the FreshVac module with either batteries or by way of purchasing an external wall plug. Nice touch!
The unit is pretty large overall which should be expected considering the size of the motor and the generous capacity but keep in mind that this thing gets moderately loud, even at the low speed. Also, on standard height counter tops – this beast stands tall which may feel awkward to some with prolonged periods of use. So again, it is large – heavy and because of the amount of power this thing harnesses, there are suction cup feet on the bottom that keep it in one position. This may present itself as a bit of an inconvenience for those that like to move things around. Just keep in mind that on a clean, smooth surface, these feet will grab with authority and you’ll need to free them up before moving the base to another spot on the counter or to another surface in your kitchen. In the simplest of terms, this blender should not be considered portable.
If you’re thinking about paring down to one appliance for your various blending needs and nutritional drink endeavors, this system just may be the solution you’ve been waiting for.
Pros:
Plenty of power for every task.
Well-designed touch display that is bright & easy to master after reading the manual.
The FreshVac feature is pretty ingenious and it makes a big difference.
Combines two essential appliances in one, both functioning beautifully.
Solid Ninja construction & quality and plenty of included accessories.
Cons:
Premium price.
A slight reduction in the pitcher capacity vs. the previous Blendmax Duo with Auto-IQ model.
Moderately loud even at low speeds.
May stand too tall on standard countertops for some folks.
Suction cup feet can make moving this beast around a bit awkward.
As a side note:
From the included recipe book, the Mango Tango smoothie is our favorite!

Great product for a particular customer segment...
on November 16, 2018

Rowkin offers some of the best engineered products in the segment. I personally find that the Surge Charge are my favorite due to their extended battery life, comfort, phenomenal sound fidelity and their ability to 'stay put' when physically active. With that said, the Ascent Charge+ in ear wireless buds are a great, highly engineered product for those wanting the smallest possible design and the conveniences of a charging station/storage container along with hassle-free usability.
The modules charge fast which is important as the battery life is much shorter than their larger siblings. Bluetooth connectivity was quick and precise with the Rowkin mobile app.
Sound quality - as to be expected - is a bitter thinner, brighter and lacking full bass response - along with somewhat limited top-end volume gain. But again, most customers looking for the most compact solution should be OK with these limitations. A comfortable fit should be attainable by most with the assortment of sleeves/tips provided and the capacitive touch functionality is amazing.
I still prefer the Surge platform over these but can still wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone looking for a compact design that exudes trouble-free performance.

Exceeded My Expectations
on November 1, 2018
Posted by: YourMainDude
from The South
Climbing aboard the 'subscription based' platform was much easier than I had anticipated. I own copies of the persistent license products across a few machines but opted to install 365 Personal on my newest laptop. A few years back I tried the Personal edition and wasn't very satisfied with the 'click-to-run' processes but I can say that with the most current platform, things do seem to be more seamless.
I'll outline several bullets of my observations:
- Following the simple directions to install from the /setup webpage was much easier this time around, where the selection of the 64bit version was clear and precise.
-The entire installation process was pretty quick and without hiccups.
-The introduction of the new dark theme is very appealing on a laptop platform.
-Having the core programs plus Outlook, Access and Publisher over the basic Home key card product is a tremendous value for the annual renewal price. I use Publisher quite a lot for personal projects, it's quick & intuitive and I've very happy it is included.
Access on the other hand ... I probably won't use.
-The added benefit of having new features readily available throughout the subscription period is a big bonus vs. the persistent license route.
-It's still too early to tell but I am hopeful that the ongoing update path will be smooth & painless ... unlike the bungled Windows 10 twice-a-year updates for 2018.
If you have a lot of computers in your arsenal/home, the $99 plan is even a better value.

Great performance for those on a budget.
on October 26, 2018

The Dell - S2419NX 24" IPS LED FHD Monitor is a solid choice for those on a budget. It touts a 5ms refresh rate ( I would assume a G-to-G timing ), is Energy Star rated and comes in markedly below a 20 watt rating, has a slim bezel and has clean design lines.
I'm especially happy about the Energy Star rating as this monitor replaces an older Dell 23" model which scores a higher power consumption than this 24".
Straight out of the box, the picture was phenomenal, with good depth of color and solid dynamic range. I have it paired with a Dell XPS 8910 which came with a GTX 750i graphics card and I didn't need to readjust any of the picture settings. Games, photos and videos all look great for a monitor at this price point. I was also keen to see how much light bleed would emit from the edges and I am happy to report that in addition to the absence of light bleed, the overall corner-to-corner picture uniformity is outstanding.
My only gripes about this model is the lack of vertical height adjustment and more importantly, the omission of built-in speakers. There's a model just above this one - not offered by Best Buy - that has full adjust-ability and it isn't much more expensive. I knew what I was opting for with this monitor choice so I won't count these two nits against my rating although built-in speakers should really have been part of the deal.
I can recommend this to gamer types and casual users on a budget alike. Tremendous value for Dell quality.

My first Alienware accessory ...
on September 19, 2018
Posted by: YourMainDude
from The South
This headset is truly amazing. The are solidly constructed with comfortable mesh ear cups, a fairly balanced amount of tension on the head (YMMV) and easy setup.
I was surprised to find that immediately upon plugging in the wireless adapter, Windows 10 Pro made quick work of recognizing the new hardware and promptly installing the Alienware Headset Center software. I wasn't expecting any type of simulated surround mode with this model but low-and-behold, the 'stereo' in the name is deceiving. Within the app there is a ton of custom configuration options including the lighting features and surround mode. Kudos to Dell Alienware team for constructing such a well organized control panel. I've seen other companies completely FAIL on the software side of things and it thoroughly ruins the user experience.
The integrated power button underneath the Alien logo on the left ear piece is centered and easy to activate. Wireless performance with my X470 Hero II motherboard is generally solid although I did notice some dropped sound packets early on. I'm not going to ding this review for what I expect to experience with most 'dedicated' wireless headsets that don't simply use Bluetooth.
I've not noticed any appreciable hit to battery life while using the lighting compared to other products in the same segment. Pretty typical performance on that front.
My only real gripes about this headset is the lack of comfort for very 'extended' periods of use and the limited gain with respect to the overall sound level. They don't breathe as well as my Steelcase wired headphones, even with their mesh cups. And the crown area of my skull does become a tad bit sore after 2+ hours of wear. But nuanced comfort attributes is an area that I feel is highly subjective and dependent upon a person's geometry ... so I'm not going to levy any demerits on the overall rating. This wireless headset pretty much caps out at a moderate listening level - bordering almost loud enough - equal to most other wireless gaming headsets I've tried. Sound fidelity and low-end (bass) performance is solid. I've not experienced any rattles or distortions across many games and a wide variety of music types. I'd prefer a maximum level roughly about 20% higher but again, this is another subjective area and I won't count it against the overall rating. I'm also certain that governed SpL (sound pressure levels) is something more and more companies are paying close attention to for hearing preservation reasons.
All said - I still think this headset is built & performs to the expected level for an Alienware product at this price point.
I can confidently recommend these to others!
- The design style & lines are very unique... and cool looking.
- The lighting bits are 'in line' with the design and not over-the-top.
- The integrated controls are easy to find and use without looking.
- The Alienware Headset Center app is solid all the way around !
- Battery performance on-par with the segment - near as I can tell.
Check them out for yourself and see what you think !
