I'm a huge fan of the original Mass Effect trilogy with Mass Effect 2 being my favorite.
When Mass Effect Andromeda was announced, I was excited. The closer the game got to release, there were worries among other Mass Effect fans.
Without giving away plot spoilers, I can admit that Andromeda has its faults and issues (just google the game) but these issues can be ignored and probably wouldn't even be an issue if certain game sites constantly overloaded us with said issues.
At the end of the day, Andromeda is fun and a good looking game. It takes a few hours for you the player to get the story going but once it does a solid job of entertaining. The visuals on the newer Frost Bite Engine really pop and compliment certain moments of the story.
Much like the original Mass Effect game, there are bigger things to come with the potential sequels.
And if you were a fan of the multiplayer that was in Mass Effect 3 then you'll be at home with the new version of the fun online experience.

I've been a Resident Evil fan since the 90's which means that I've seen the high and lows of the series.
After the dismal experience of Resident Evil 6, I didn't have high expectations for Resident Evil 7. Capcom delivered in aces! I know that the First Person view might seem discouraging to some gamers but let me tell you that this game might not have worked if it was done in the traditional Resident Evil camera angles.
The jump scares are random and fun along with some really messed up gore.
And the story! This game starts off with a horror movie vibe that gets better the further the player goes. I won't reveal spoilers but I can say that the plot has you guessing until the end.

When the previous Deus Ex came out in 2011, I was impressed by the detail and choices that were given when approaching missions. Mankind Divided delivers all of that and more.
Let me say that the visuals are so much better and that's beyond the reasoning of it being on current gen systems. There is detail in everything which makes the game more immersive from my point of view.
If you haven't played the previous Deus Ex Human Revolution then not to worry, there's a 12 minute summary video within the game that brings you up to date on the plot (which is too much detail for me to get into for a review like this).
Voice acting is great and the controls are far more improved than the previous game which allows more ease for the player and focusing on other methods of playing certain missions.
If you are looking for a futuristic game that feels like it's grounded in a plausible reality, then Mankind Divided is your answer.

I've been a Call Of Duty player since 2007 when Modern Warfare came out. Since then, I've stuck with the series despite the odd choices of themes they have been using as of late.
I got myself hyped for Infinite Warfare and was excited for the campaign mostly since the multiplayer looked more of the same but I was hoping that it would feel different from what we were seeing in previews.
It seems that all the efforts went into the story and multiplayer was an afterthought. I won't get into the plot details but I can say that it's one of the better COD plots of recent years. However, there was much hype with Kit Harrington from Game of Thrones being in the game and in truth, he barely has ten minutes of screen time.
I played the multiplayer for three weeks before I threw in the towel because if felt like it was a poor version of Black Ops 3 from the previous year but far less inventive. The maps were poorly executed and the scorestreaks were pointless in a lot of matches. Now, if you're looking for more of the same that Black Ops 3 offered then you'll probably enjoy this game but keep in mind, there are a lot of features that are STILL NOT WORKING at the time of me writing this. Leaderboards, custom emblems, and some other features are still awaiting activation.
Bottom line is that this game does not feel that it was in production for the past three years, in truth, it feels like the campaign was worked on for two and the online was slapped together in one year.
As for Moder Warfare Remastered, it looks gorgeous and plays exactly like I remember it years ago. It's unfortunate that Activision decided to throw in micro transactions into that game as well.

As a longtime DC fan, I was anxious to see this movie come together.
I think this movie could've been better on two levels. There could've been a better villain than the one chosen. It was a missed opportunity to volley the ball into the upcoming JLA film much like how the Marvel movies are connected in regards to the Avengers and the Infinity Stones.
Second, this movie was screaming for an R rating since we are dealing with bad guys that have no regard for being nice. An R rating worked just fine for Deadpool, Rumor is that Warner Bros got cold feet and changed it to a wider audience.
With all the controversy about Jared Leto's Joker performance on and off the screen, we were all expecting a Joker that would rival the late Heath Ledger but instead, we got ten minutes of a Joker that isn't really memorable.

I've been waiting for FFVX ever since it was announced back in 2006. Finally, the release date was in sight in 2016.
Let me firstly say that you don't have to have played the others games to remotely understand this installment.
It's a gorgeous game and the play mechanics are smooth once you learn them. However, despite the great visuals, solid voice acting that might seem a tad over the top, the story feels disjointed. There is A LOT going on with the plot. In fact, I would highly suggest watching the companion movie to this game, Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV since the movie deepens the events that transpire in the game.
But even with the movie, there are parts of the game that happen off camera leaving the player feeling robbed of certain events. I can't give an example since that's spoiler territory.
This game is fun at the end of the day and it is rich. You won't be overly disappointed.

The original Gears Of war was my very first Xbox 360 game purchase and I fell in love with the series since. It was what Halo did for the original Xbox.
After what was thought to be the finale, Gears Of War 3, the story came to a close albeit a mediocre story in my opinion. When Gears 4 was announced, I was hesitant and thought Microsoft was milking the franchise.
I was wrong.
This installment is fresh but still feels familiar in gameplay. The story is FANTASTIC! And that ending!
The graphics are brilliant and the game mechanics are smooth. The multiplayer is a lot of fun and addictive and plays 60 frames per second which is nice. I just wished that the campaign played in 60fps too.
