What else is there to say? You meet zany residents and get randomly generated items. If you want even more rewards, you have to drive around town with your 3DS on. Now you can go to other players' houses over the internet, and you get to wear pants!
There's a certain audience for these types of sim games, so if you enjoy small rewards, fishing, bugs, collections, and item diversity, this is a great series for you. If you prefer heavy combat, plot and spectacle, this is NOT a series for you. AC takes the mundane and makes it appreciable.

This four-disc set brings together a number of films from director Tim Burton including three of his collaborations with Johnny Depp - Sleepy Hollow, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, and Tim Burton's Corpse Bride - as well as his supernatural comedy Beetlejuice.

I'm going to be perfectly honest, I got this because of the ghostest with the mostest. Bettlejuice is just as incredible and funny as it was back in the Eighties. It needs no introduction. There's a little but of DNR in this presentation, evident during the outdoor landscape sequences. But it looks fantastic with it's eerie green lighting and meandering white and black set pieces.
I re-watched Corpse Bride last night, and it's OK. It's no Nightmare Before Christmas, which unfortunately it's always going to be contrasted with. And I have yet to watch Sleepy Hollow again, but it's apparent that Burton has picked Depp as his muse through out the years for good reason.
- I have no intention of watching Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. -
I definitely recommend this to people who want the first three movies, especially that Bettlejuice. Anybody remember the cartoon show on Nickelodeon?....

Everyone loves Keanu. An entire generation wanted to be Neo after The Matrix and Reloaded came out, or did you avoid every shopping mall in America from 1999 to 2005? So it's a wonder how he stayed low key between 2004 and 2014 with things like Constantine, Scanner Darkly and Street Kings.
Well, John Wick ended the hiatus, and Reeves came back in a movie that bumped Reloaded's choreography off the top. John Wick is a simple revenge story, a by the numbers killing spree of a former hit man seeking revenge on a mob family who slighted him during lamentation. The result is a cacophony of point blank gunshots, people getting thrown through windows, thrown through tables, thrown over balconies, thrown while being thrown! And it is awesome.
This is the Blu-ray release, and while the golden years of Blu-ray are upon us as the premier definition type, the blacks in this release are like those found in plasma sets. That is to say they are the best darks and blacks I can think of, similar to Riddick (a movie adored for its black levels). The primary track is in Dolby Atmos, but my setup is Dolby True HD 5.1 and handles it just fine. If you have an Atmos setup, prepare to do foundation work on your house. The audio from John Wick could vibrate the fillings out of your skull. Release has DVD, BD, and digital w/ code, and the packaging is two sided 40% reduced plastic.
For any action fan who likes movies like Jack Reacher, Drive, or the Transporter, I recommend John Wick. And for my fellow Keanu Reeves mancrushers, the guy just doesn't age! Definitely recommended.

This hard hitting release for fans of the Matrix film franchise includes all three films from the series, The Matrix, The Matrix Reloaded, and The Matrix Revolutions, plus the collection of animated shorts created in conjunction with the trilogy, The Animatrix.

That this is the best purchase you made all year? There is no Red Pill/Blue Pill resolve here, if you want to own a timeless piece of cinematic excellence that COMPLETELY changed the industry, this is The One.
The Matrix is unfortunately going to suffer a little bit because of its reliance on CGI, and as we know CGI creeps out of date year to year. Reloaded and Revelations are no exception. The Mr. Smith battles and mech suits are showing their age as the 2000's approach fifteen years ago. And that's telling you just how unabashedly detailed these films are. Fishbrune's visage has gone from iconic to landscape in these movies. There is clear distinction between types of black in the actors' wardrobes. That's right, different types of blacks! So these are incredibly well detailed. Sound is 5.1 and for my setup I can here everything that needs to be heard while still not missing a second of background audio fidelity.
The package is like a standard two winged Blu-ray package, with thicker n*pples for two discs on each cover side. A thing to note about this entire series is the Blu-ray automatically starts playing when you put it in, and doesn't default to the main menu. But there is a main menu and a pop-up menu.
For the main movies this isn't a problem, but for the Animatrix this causes just a little grief. The Animatrix is nine shorts from various artists that focus on the ethos of the Matrix each with their own mini plot. So if you just want to watch one particular short and not all nine in a row, you have to select them from the pop-up menu at which point it'll go through the movie, then the credits, then they 20 (!) intellectual property rights warnings. This a little extreme and a slight oversight by Warner Bros.
The Animatrix is why I re-purchased this series again on BR, because previously it was DVD only. It was worth the re-purchase. If you are a fan of Aeon Flux, Cowboy Bebop, Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust, Evangelion, the studio Madhouse, IG, the shorts in Memories or an absurd number of various other artists and studios that have been in the biz for multiple decades, you will want to get The Animatrix in this set. It's the best it has ever looked with clean frame rates, crisp audio, deep colors, and no static, artifacts, or unsightly objects.
On top of all of this is a gargantuan amount of behind the scenes for each film and each of the Animatrix shorts. I don't see the reason to get the collector's edition beyond superfluous packaging because these have almost too much for special features, director's commentary, spoofs, the list goes on. The extras menu is a little small when you access it, but the amount of things to view is something like half a day between all four discs! Also, the movies are Region Free!!! Considering the number of subtitle options, the passive region restrictions, and the audio options, the series is accessible to just about anyone.
I got this during the holidays with a (5) certificate and I wound up spending like eight clams on the whole series. Really, there's no reason why you shouldn't have THIS version release in your library. It's just too good and too easy to get everything you could possibly want from these movies. Not only HIGHLY RECOMMENDED, it's a requisite purchase.

At this point, Kill Bill is a trope definer. It's a nod to just about every major film in the Kung Fu or Japanese Western drama while staying completely American. And the Blu-rays make it all the more satisfying.
Volume 1 IS stronger than Volume 2. There's waaaaaaaaay more fighting, it's extremely edgy, Lucy Lui is a tough lady to compete with. Volume 2 shows you the struggle that the Bride had to endure to get to her status as the number one lady assassin, and the culmination is heart warming.
From a director who's renowned for making characters (and memes) with big personalities, Kill Bill has the biggest of them all. EVERY main character in this movie is a scene stealer. That's hard to beat. I'm not sure why she wasn't even nominated for an Oscar in '04 or '05, but her definitive racer bike attire has already cemented her a genre icon.
As for DVD vs. Blu-ray differences...There's no contest. Miramax did their homework. So buy the Blu-ray. This version has a solid Blu-ray cover (not 40% reduced plastic) and nips for both discs on each cover. It's not a separate two package bundle.
Apparently Volume 3 is "seriously" in the works as of this writing, so catch up with all the blatant bloody squibs and kitschy choreographed fighting in this two volume staple from the glory days of the 2000's.

Saw the roadshow on X-Mas last year, and like everyone else during intermission I was engrossed. So naturally when it came to Blu-ray, it was only a matter of time before I picked it up. Thank you Black Friday!
It's hard to tell that it's a Panavision 70 transfer because the scenic portions are one) few and far between, and two) we've seen so much gratuitous scenery p*** with movies from the past two years that it gets lost behind The Revenant and Good Dinosaur! But rest assured if you love the cinematography in Kill Bill, with its glowing spotlight bloom on surfaces, or the same lighting techniques used in Kill Bill and Inglorious, H8teful will not disappoint.
It's important to mention that this outing is similar to Reservoir Dogs and Inglorious where the main shots are intimate and in a single, centralized setting. So if you need variety, I recommend another Tarantino film.
Violent, unabashedly swanky, BIG personalities, and star studded cast make this an affair to not miss.

This release collects every episode from season three of the popular Netflix original series about Piper Chapman (Taylor Schilling), a classy woman in her thirties who is sentenced to prison after being convicted of a ten-year-old crime of trafficking money for her drug-dealer girlfriend.

Still on a roll. I prefer this season over the second season, but I think the first season set the bar really, really high. All your favorites are back, and some are sadly leaving.
This season primarily deals with all the other inmates issues more so than Piper Chapman. Not to spoil things, but Piper is digging herself further and further into the darkness, which we've seen happen since Season One's brutal finale. Everyone else is pretty much turning a new leaf with new rivals and budding friendships, all the while drawing more and more sympathy for the inmates at Litchfield.
I'm simply elated by Ruby Rose. I'm pretty sure most everyone is in love with this new aspiring model, and if you were hoping to see more of her... tattoos, you will. ;) However, I felt like her character was shoehorned in this season.
Definitely a great show, and Netflix is going to be around for a long time.

Not the standard edit. Like the black box version of The Wolverine, The Rogue Cut is the better draw of DoFP. It has both versions, and in my mind the Rogue Cut is more thorough.
Sadly, theatre versions and misc. cuts exist. (I personally deem it a grand premeditated marketing scheme). Typically, the Director's Cut of a film is definitive and this one is no exception. It has a little more sentinel battle action and includes a welcome comeback of a familiar alum to the franchise, just in case you were tired of having Jackman's and Lawrence's current celebrity status smeared on every other scene.
7.1 Audio for people concerned about this. For my setup, I miss a little bit of low channel frequency during these types of playback, and dialogue seems quitter than when in 5.1 channel. But the picture will blow your mind, especially the digital effects for the future sentinels. Actually, get this over the 4K version as well, until they release the Rogue Cut on 4K Blu-ray.

Straight Outta the Distortion World...

A bolt out of the blue, from thin air, use whatever analogy you want, this set miraculously just popped up in Best Buy this week! And the results are simply spectacular! We had fair warning with the Limited Edition 1-3 Movie set released in February, but this tetralogy sets a new bar (and hope!) for future Pokémon movies.
I bought this set specifically for Rise of Darkrai. It's my fave of the matter trio Trilogy because it starts the Dialga/Palkia conflict, a shared storyline that spans two other movies and pits multiple Sinnoh legendaries in the battle versus the two hotheads. But I had forgotten just how detailed RoD, and Giratina and the Sky Warrior both are! Sinnoh's niche was more Ice-types and colder regions, and it shows in this set with huge cascades of mountains with snow pack, glaciers, pines, these two are the most scenic of any of the Pokémon movies I can remember. The Blu-ray transfer only makes them livelier.
But at one point you'll notice the pattern in the set; huge production value and awe inspiring detail, but the plots are starting to look similar. Enter Arceus (pronounced R-K-S) and the Jewel of Life to shake up the routine. This entry concludes the Dialga/Palkia (and Giratina) ark by throwing the God Pokémon himself into the fray. The Arceus movie is one of two of the movies in this set that I honestly believe have better plots than most children's movies. There's foreshadowing, well done time traveling, very well done assimilation of the content from the Pokemon and their abilities straight from the games, and for both, emotional content of multiple parties. Arceus and the Jewel of Life is also BEYOND psychedelic. It is the most colorful outing in the set, and possibly in all of the movies. Period. It may not have the scenery p*** of RoD or GatSW, but it is lush in its sequences.
Zoroark Master of Illusion is a very filling dollop of icing on an overly filled cake, and it's unfortunately bittersweet. Like I said, very good plot, foreshadowing, great emotion, but something happened during production. At about the 1:05 mark and through out the third act the drawn animation just looks horrid. You can tell the animators reduced frames and used their sidelined animators to finish up the movie. This is unfortunate, and it happens for nearly 20 minutes! Even the credits are better done than this movie's finale! It very well could have been the perfect Pokémon movie as well because it isn't some world saving calamity. It's small scale and intimate with some very likable promotional Pokémon, Zorua and Zoroark. It also had the star power of classic Generation 2 characters backing it such as Celebi, Totodile, Chikorita, Cyndaquil, the Legendary Gerbils, a duo of Scizors, this movie was so good until the end. Ulgh!
This set is honestly better than both the Gen 1 set, and the 2nd rate Miramax release of movies 4-7. The cover is glossy steelbook, the discs are region A, the sound is 5.1 or stereo (2.0) and there's English subs. However, there are no Pikachu shorts, and there are no original Japanese audio tracks. Also, all the movies each have their own Blu-ray disc. If I were you, I'd get this as a nice stocking stuffer to coincide with the Sun and Moon release this holiday season. For the beaming Pokémon fan in all of us.

Essential. There is no alternative, there is no substitute. This is the Cohen Bros.' 5th Symphony. Take the whacky humor Raising Arizona, the iconography of Fargo, the huge characters of No Country, and the meandering convoluted yet simply awesome storyline of O' Brother and you have the best comedy of our Generation. And it's only gotten better with time. Every sentence in this movie is quotable, more so than Rocky Horror Picture Show.
This release is unique in that it also has the DVD. There's been like four releases of Big Lebowski on Blu-ray, but this one has both formats still available. The picture (like all of Universal's outings) is incredible, even the CGI dream sequences which are over 15 years old now. Audio is great and very easy to hear.
The special features are pretty lengthy in this release. You can check them individually on Bluray.com for specificity, but rest assured this is a comprehensive look back at the movie's success. You have to get this if you haven't picked it up already. There's a word for people who don't own The Big Lebowski yet. "Amateurs."
