GALAXY TAB A RANDOM REBOOT MYSTERY! BUYER BEWARE!
on February 9, 2017

This tablet was working great for the first few weeks. Then it started randomly rebooting when streaming movies from Crackle and Netflix. It has gotten to the point where it reboots 1 to 2 times a day! I have a new 128gb Sandisk SDXC card in it. Movies downloaded from Netflix are saved on the SD card. What a huge disappointment Samsung!

Well balance sound. Comfortable earpads.
on September 17, 2016

You will get well balanced sound from these JBL 300's. Not a muddy overload of bass but just enough for any type of music. Good mid-range for vocals, horns, etc. The highs are descent but could be a little brighter. By comparison, the lower priced JBL Synchos E40BT headphones sound a little brighter but don't have as much bass. The Everest 300's ear cushions are thicker and extremely soft and comfortable. They are cushioned more than the JBL Synchos line. The headband is padded but when it presses the top of my head long enough, I get a mild headache. I have worn these in the gym and even though they aren't noise cancelling, they manage to cut out a lot of surrounding noise. One potential annoyance...the headphones creak a little as the earpieces pivot/adjust to your jaw movements. You can hear the creaks. Note that the headphones do stick out a bit since they made the earpieces with the ability to move independently from the headband. Another possible annoyance...it's easy to hit the pair button accidentally. You have to remember the volume/pause is on the left while pairing/power is on the right. For $149, not a bad product. Better than the overpriced Beats Solo 2 for the money.

Seriously Overpriced 3D Bluray
on June 20, 2016

The 3D effects are great using James Camron's 3D cameras BUT there is no excuse for this 3D bluray being as expensive as it is considering it's not even an hour long. It seems Cirque du Soleil is trying to make up for the people that don't go see the live show by seeing this instead. They get away with it by putting Camron's name on it. I would recommend it only if you can find it heavily discounted.

WiFi Light Out! No Signal!
on December 13, 2015
Posted by: ron111
from San Diego
I started having connection issues about 1 week after flawless usage in my home. I noticed the WiFi icon on my phone was off as well as the computer which showed a blank network settings box. I then looked on the router and noticed the WiFi light was OFF. How could this happen on a brand new router? I had to cycle the power on the router to fix it (until it happens again). I will be returning the product ASAP.

Colors Not Accurate & No 5.1 Via Optical Out
on November 13, 2015
Posted by: ron111
from San Diego
I have a currently working 8 year old Sony 720p flat screen LCD which I used to compare side by side with the Roku Insignia 55". Here's what I found. When it comes to colors, shades of red, yellow, and ocean blue are a bit off. There's a hint of blue in the red. You can see this example on the VW Jetta Christmas commercial featuring a red car. Also look at the Buffalo Bills red uniforms. The Tivo DVR's menu yellow text that says "My Shows" look greenish. The Tivo circular record light looks bluish red. The Netflix opening red screen is another example. Additionally, certain shades of yellow can have a hint of green in them. Example would be the Green Bay Packers colors. Lastly, look at ocean colors. This is one of the best color accuracy tests. On this set, the ocean leans towards an unnatural blue hue, not real life greenish blue.
When it comes to sound, note that the optical out does not output 5.1 audio even if you're on Netflix streaming a 5.1 movie. I found this out when I connected the optical cable to my Onkyo receiver and it showed Pro Logic II only.
As far as motion blur, I watched a half dozen football games and didn't notice anything that stood out. Everything seems acceptable when it comes to motion.
The colors wash out and look off hue when watching from an angle and not at eye level. Like most low to mid line LED TVs, you need to be right in the center which is very unfortunate.
Will be taking back before the short 15 day return period ends.

Poor Battery Charging
on July 27, 2015

A poorly charging battery ruined the 20 minutes of good, powerful sound I was able to get from the TDK Trek 360 sound cube. Out of the box, I charged it until the red light went out. I noticed it took only about 15 minutes to charge. It played music for about 20 minutes and then it died. No power. No after a 2nd recharge attempt, power doesn't come on at all. What's worse, you can't use it while it's charging.

Great Picture When Settings Are Right! Here's Mine
on December 6, 2014
Posted by: ron111
from San Diego
It took me a few days to get the settings just right and what a difference it makes! I'm not using game mode since it greys out some of the settings from being adjusted. The picture is rich in color with deep contrast range. I found that turning on Live Color (low setting) and turning Gamma down to -2 made a huge difference too. If you don't want to ruin the settings you already have, try them on another input since each one can have its own separate settings. I'm not seeing motion blur or a tail on the end of the football in sports (mainly because motionflow and cinemotion are off and the scene selection is sports). I've found that everything looks good with these settings whether I'm watching movies, sports or video files via DLNA.
Like most LCD/LED screens these days, optimum viewing angle is limited to about 30 degrees to either side before you notice the picture washing out. This is different from my old 2007 Sony S series flat screen which has about a 50 degree angle of acceptable view. If you can catch this TV on sale like I did, it's totally worth it.

I actually saw this LG frig next to a Maytag 20.6 cu.ft. frig M1TXEGMYS in Home Depot. I couldn't believe the difference in quality inside and out. Solid shelves in the freezer and refirgerator. A glass shelf in the freezer, not flimsy thin wire shelving like the Maytag M1TXEGMYS. Racks in the doors that don't easily pop off like the Maytag. Nice thick doors. I also love the no-handle doors which are nicely arch shaped.
What's great about it: High quality parts. High quality feel.

NO CHANGE IN SPEED NOTICED YET
on May 27, 2010

I UPGRADED MY MODEM FROM A MOTOROLA SB5120 DOCSIS 2.0 TO THE SB6120 WITH DOCSIS 3.0. I'M IN A COX SAN DIEGO AREA THAT HAS SUPPOSEDLY BEEN UPGRADED TO 3.0, YET WHEN I DID A SPEED TEST, THE DOWNLOAD SPEED IS THE SAME AS THE OLDER MODEM (ABOUT 25 Mbps). THERE HAS BEEN A INCREASE IN THE UPLOAD SPEED (TO 6Mbps) WITH THE NEW MODEM BUT THAT'S IT FOR NOW.
IT SEEMS THAT DOWNLOAD SPEEDS DEPEND ON WHAT TIME OF DAY THE TEST IS RUN BUT THAT'S A CABLE SERVICE ISSUE, NOT MOTOROLA ISSUE. SLOWER SPEEDS OF ABOUT 15Mbps IN THE MIDDLE OF THE DAY WITH FASTER SPEEDS IN THE LATE NIGHT HOURS. THESE SPEED CHANGES ARE NOT NOTICEABLE DURING NORMAL WEB USAGE HOWEVER.
I CONNECTED THE MODEM DIRECTLY TO THE COMPUTER WITH NO ROUTER IN BETWEEN. IT DOES SHOW THE NETWORK CONNECTION AS Gbps WITH A BLUE ACTIVITY LIGHT. WHEN I CONNECT THE MODEM TO THE WIRELESS N 300 ROUTER, THE NET STATUS CHANGES TO Mbps WITH A ORANGE ACTIVITY LIGHT.
THERE IS NO USB CONNECTION BUT I THINK THAT'S BECAUSE ETHERNET MAY BE FASTER BUT THE OLDER MODEM HAD BOTH. I DIDN'T USE USB ANYWAY IN PREVIOUS YEARS.
AT LEAST I'M FUTURE PROOF IN THE EVENT THERE IS A CHANGE IN THE SERVICE THAT ALLOWS THE 3.0 MODEM TO REALLY SHOW ITS STUFF. I'LL PROBABLY KEEP THIS MODEM FOR THE NEXT 10 YEARS UNLESS I DISCONTINUE SERVICE DUE TO EVER-RISING CABLE PRICES.
What's great about it: N/A
What's not so great: NO DOCSIS 3.0 PERFORMANCE INCREASE NOTICED YET

Great affordable 4k
By ThePhrenchRev from MD
I bought this LG less than a week ago after returning a Sony 1080p that was having some video/audio delay. To be honest up until today I was going to return this tv because the picture quality when upscaling my Atlantic Broadband cable was not nearly as clear as on the 1080p Sony I just returned. Everything appeared a bit out of focus and the coloring wasn't right no matter how I adjusted the picture settings.
But then I rented Jurassic World on Blu-ray Disc and saw the full beauty of this set. The video quality was insane. The colors were vivid. The blacks were very black. It was exactly what I had expected out of the box.
After watching the movie I wondered why the quality of picture was so different between my Blu-ray Disc (played through my Xbox one) and the video feed from my cable provider. I decided to try the hdmi cable from my Xbox with my cable box. Instantly the picture was crisp, the colors were vivid, the blacks were black.
I've always subscribed to the thought that all hdmi cables are the same, but in this case it just did not prove true. I'm wondering if higher quality hdmi cables do better with upscaling to 4k- my initial research had indicated that all hdmi cables would work equally well no matter what so I didn't think to look too deeply into this subject matter when making my purchase. If you are having trouble with picture quality and are using a cheap hdmi you may want to invest into a higher quality hdmi cable- at this point I'm just alternating my hdmi cable between my Xbox one and my cable box, but will be looking into what kind of hdmi cable I should buy so I don't have to unplug it every time I switch between inputs.
I am so happy I did not return this tv and found a solution to the picture quality issues I was having. I would highly recommend this product if you're looking for a large 4k TV at below 4k price.

HDMI cables
November 29, 2015
Any descent HDMI cable should work. It's a digital signal so you can't see a difference in picture quality. Since there is no actual pure 4k content via a 4k bluray player yet, you don't need the special 4k HDMI cable.

TV Surpassed ALL Expectations. (True Review)
By Nick
Let's be real, this is the lowest price you will find on an awesome brand, UHD 4K, large 55"-65" display, Smart TV. I purchased this TV under the impression it would be black on the edges (which it isn't it's silver like the higher end models), 5" thick (it's about 2" thick at most like the higher end models), and with low brightness high input lag/latency, with slow apps and faulty software/hardware (none of which were accurate.) No, it does not have the same quality as a TV in a seperate classe sold for twice the amount. However, this TV is nothing short of a technological masterpiece for the price. No, I don't believe Trumotion 120Hz is equivalent to a set just advertising 120Hz, do I care and can I tell? Absolutely not. It is definitely a true 60Hz TV if not more. On game mode Input lag is not a problem whatsoever and the picture still looks magnificent with a little settings tweaking. For truer black turn down brightness but leave the backlight all the way up, mine is on 27 out of 100 for brightness and it still looks great so perhaps those complaining about grey blacks need to tweak further and accept that it isn't a $2000 model. For gaming it is brilliant on fast paced FPS games I have no problem no scoping folks. I primarily use it as a secondary monitor, it is a tad latent as I'm displaying in 4k and I can almost notice it, but it's fine, better than I could have expected. I would recommend this to anyone and everyone, I can't believe some of the negative reviews on here, it's UNREAL what you can get for the money. Speakers on it sound great and it has optical 96k fiber optic output on the back which I use and it works perfectly. I've had this TV for weeks now and love it. Still not over it, I couldn't be more satisfied. Don't listen to the hater reviews basically saying it's not a $4000 model, it isn't but in a way that's what makes it great. Best value, Great quality. All software works great with fast internet. Wifi gets best connection of all my devices. The pictures on this site don't accurately represent the product. Anti reflective layer works good too so you dont get reflections and stuff. Anyway.

Good picture but question the 120hz
By earthtech from Over, there
The 4k picture is great after adjusting to get the black level right the color and tint are easy. I question the 120Hz rate best buy and Wal-Mart claim it has. I think it's 60hz with a 120hz motion rate technology to help smooth out the choppy blur. I looked up this model 55UF6450 and it says 60 frames per sec near the bottom of page. Now I see why LG left the specs off the box.

I don't know what some of these negative reviews are talking about. This TV is amazing. Granted, I'm coming from a 26" Vizio, but I think this TV is still great by any standards, especially at the sale price. Great color and crisp images. Easy setup. Never had a smart TV before and I'm loving it. And, yes, it IS 120hz. I could easily see this being my TV for the next decade, so my only complaint will be if it doesn't last that long!

Amazing TV! And mine has 120hz refresh
By Skylerwalker
I purchased this tv this weekend. At BB there was another LG for the same price that was 60hz but 1080p only. This model just arrived that day. Not sure if the other review bought the wrong tv but the box says 120hz refresh and when going directly to lg's site and searching this model, it also states 120hz. Only gave 4 stars due to what appeared as a crack in the screen, after 24 hours this blemish disappeared but I'm nervous it will reappear one day... The picture is amazing. I'm in shock at how it picks up actors blemishes! Wow amazing details are seen and the football game we watched so far was great. Refresh rate was perfect! Right out of the box the picture quality was great! Wish the remote was a bit better designed. Entering network passwords are a pita! For the price this is one fantastic TV!

Not What I Expected
By Pinkylady from Fairfield, OHIO
This is the first waffle maker I've ever used. I picked this one because of the positive reviews but I regret it. While it heats up fast and cooks fairly fast (I need to cook waffles longer to get them brown though) I didn't realize the baking grids aren't removable. Cleaning the baking grids is a pain when you can't take them out and run under water, directions say to just wipe clean. That means the grids never get properly cleaned. Do you know how long that takes trying to wipe between each groove. I'm very happy with the many other Oster appliances I have but this waffle maker fell short.

NOT true Ultra HD!
By MrCoop
Bought this TV and it lasted less than an hour at my house. No audio outputs for surround sound system other than optical! Very few inputs overall. But worse was that the picture simply does NOT look like 4k UHD. My 10 year old Aquos 1080p had a better picture. And no way this is a 120hz refresh rate. Only 60hz. I'm returning this tomorrow.

Audio Output
January 31, 2016
Welcome to the year 2016. RCA audio outputs are a bonus but very old school by today's standards. You aren't going to get Dolby Digital 5.1 surround unless it's from the HDMI or optical connector anyway. RCA outputs put out stereo only which is then turned into Pro Logic old fashioned surround.
