Beautifully crafted headphones.

I don't believe I have written an over the top positive review of Bose products. However, that is going to change now. The Bose QuietComfort 35 II headphones are amazing. They are well designed and comfortable enough to wear for an extended period of time. The sound is pure and delicious. You will hear the highs and the lows, clarity of the flute, piano keys, and screech of the guitar. The active noise canceling works fairly well, I used these while mowing the lawn, which is not the best way to try ANC. Battery life is excellent, slated to last 20 hours. The main difference between the first version of the QC 35 and the QC 35 II is the addition of Google Voice support and overall improvements. You buy Bose for quality and there is a good build quality in the QC 35 II. I did not try taking calls but again Bose indicates that the sound quality is crystal clear. In the box you get a charging cable, nice looking case, and audio cable.

I have tried a few Linksys routers, including the newer and higher end routers. This one is just phenomenal! It looks a lot like the other Linksys routers but under the hood is pure-bred router made specifically for gamers. The stipulation is that you need hardware equipped with Killer network hardware. These are machine designed by Alienware, Gigabyte, MIS or Razer. However, even using a regular PC, Mac, or PS4/Xbox you can configure the router to prioritize traffic. For example, if you are downloading and watching videos at the same time, the router can slow down the download to reduce lag. Same concept applies to gaming. While I don't have a specific need for this type of router, I did configure traffic prioritization to test and it works as designed. Ahem...wouldn't it be great to configure so that your kids gaming activities are slowed down a little.

Its seems that the only selection for Windows machines these days are "2in1" laptops. A laptop and tablet all in one. The Dell Inspiron was the most attractive and offered the most for your dollar. The display is bright and the laptop is well constructed. Overall its a good value for home/college student use. Ended up with a Macbook.

After researching and trying various windows machines, the HP looked most attractive and offered most bang for the buck. The i7, 16gb, and 1TB HD are great features. The only drawback is that the display is not bright and you can see lines in the video. However, I think most machines at this price range have issues. Ended up with a Macbook instead.

Love hate with Shark Products

I am not kidding when I say that the wife and I have a love hate relationship with vacuum cleaners and Shark Products. My honest experience with Shark products is that they have nice features but the quality is not there. With past Shark products that we have had, they lasted a year. The Shark - APEX DuoClean AX951 Bagless Upright Vacuum appears to be a nice product. There are many features that we like:
Easy to switch between bare floor, high and low carpet.
The dust canister is easy to release but not quite as easy to empty.
Has a long cord.

A couple of drawbacks - does not feel solidly built and a tad heavy.
We compared this again another vacuum that we like very much. Starts with the letter "D". The Apex Duoclean is certainly heavier, has many parts to it. Our crazy simple test was to vacuum two rooms of equal size, your basic modern low pile carpet. We found the D to simply work better and that D is used...not new. So while Shark offers many amenities, in our book its still not a "D".

The weBoost DRIVE SLEEK 4G cellular booster is an interesting thing. It is debatable if this really helps boost your cellular signal. Right out of the box, I would say that it does not. However, with a longer antenna it may work better. With my work phone on the Verizon network, it did not do much. With my personal phone on the Sprint network, it helped (we are talking about Sprint). I have heard from RV owners that using the incorrect power inverter can ruin the weBoost signal booster. I find these types of things to be more gimmicky but Wilson/Weboost do make some serious hardware. I just don't think the weBoost DRIVE SLEEK 4G cellular booster is their best option.

Apple has gone a little haywire with their offerings. This particular MBP is a 2016 model and certainly not a bad machine by any means. However, it is not the best value. With only 8gb RAM, I don't think its a future proof as some of the other MB Pro machines. The "touch bar" is more like a gimmick. In store, Best Buy does not carry this particular model since it is "not current". Based on features, there is a definitely a better value out there.

I miss the old school deskjets! After using color laser printers, inkjet printers seem so 80's. My experience with newer inkjets is that they don't last long and replacement ink is crazy expensive! The HP ENVY Photo 6255 is a nice little printer, easy to setup and configure. I had no issues between Mac OSX or Windows 10. I don't print from my phone or tablets very often but the printer easily connects to both. At full resolution using photo paper, it prints reasonably fast. The printer is by no means a professional quality photo printer, intended for home use. Quality wise...time will tell but I am not holding my breath. Overall for the price it''s not a bad printer.
