I had seen this on the shelf several times during my visits to Best Buy. I had initially passed on it but finally gave it a try. I had not read the comic from which this was based so I went in with no preconceived thoughts. I liked the movie very much. It is watch worthy with some twists I didn't see coming. I'm not sure if I would watch it over and over again but it is definitely a good SciFi utopian story with ideas an imagery unlike many other movies in the genre.

I have all of ZBB's cd's. So I wasn't sure about this greatest hits colleciton at first. But I bought it back on Black Friday (hey the price was right at Best Buy that day). I can't help but think this collection for ZBB could rival the Eagles Greatest Hits album (volume 1) in the years to come. For anyone who doesn't have a Zac Brown Band cd this is the best place to start for all the hits. Every song on it is great.

But don't call me shirley. I love this movie. My kids even quote lines from it though it came out long before they were born. A sign that a movie has longevity with future generations.

My parents had a close copy of the family truckster. Sad to say it only had four and not eight headlights. This movie really hit home and brought back memories.

Leaving Sound City aside as the chronological follow up to Wasting Light, Sonic Highways is the more seemingly follow up to Wasting Light. MIght need a couple of listens as the songs are a little longer but this is a great collection of rock songs. You hear other influences in the songs. Progressive Hard Rock dare I say ... trying something different ... but still straight up Foo FIghters. Dave Grohl is a genius, again!
A drifter named Malvo (Billy Bob Thornton) brings trouble to small-town Minnesota and influences insurance salesman Lester Nygaard (Martin Freeman) into murder. Meanwhile, a pair of local police officers are trying to piece together a series of murders which they believe is connected to Malvo and Nygaard.
Fargo is downright one of the best series on FX and on TV overall. I can't decide who has the more evil character, Biily Bob Thorton or Martin Freeman. Both deliver great acting. The evolution of each character through the series is incredible to watch and worth the investment of time.
One of the best movies in the X-Men series. Time travel storyline allows a franchise reboot in a sense. Quicksilver scene is one the best scenes I have ever watched in any superhero movie. Very cool! End of the movie ties things up very well in reboot fashion.
My first listen through this release was that it was worse than Tormato. I went back and listend to Tormato. Nope. Tormato is worse, but Heaven and Earth is a close second. It is somewhat lackluster in my opinion. Steve Howes guitar work is still there. Maybe this should have been another solo album for Steve. Jon Davison sounds a little like Jon Anderson when he is singing softer. He needs to have some standout vocals from time to time, more power. He is a good singer but he is not Jon Anderson (no one will compare to the original Jon anyways, he is and will remain the pinnacle of vocalists). The rest of the music is somewhat laidback or sounds like really old guys are playing the music and they are tired. Oh yeah, they are old now, and maybe tired (lord knows I am getting there too). The whole production sounds like it is reaching for what might have been but falls short of the mark. I might give this another listen but for now its on the shelf.
The seventh season of Dr. Who finds the Eleventh Doctor (Matt Smith) facing foes from within a magical winter landscape, and sees his loyal Ponds (Karen Gillan, Arthur Darvill) throughtheir final voyage. Other challenges include rescuing a spaceship filled with dinosaurs, traversing the Wild West, escaping a Russian submarine, and much more.
Season 7 Dr. Who was right up there with other seasons. The send off for Amy and Rory was heart wrenching. But not all companions live to tell their exploits in old age. But Who are we kidding. It's time travel and you never know what might happen. Season 7 led up to the introduction of Clara. Pulls you right back in for the next companion, mid season. Good chemistry all around. I'm not sure about the decision to change out Matt Smith. He grew on you season 5 to 7. Yet Riversong said way back in season 5 or 6 that the Dr. was younger than she remembered marrying. So there is a set up to another Doctor. Teaser at the end of Season 7, could John Hurt be the next Doctor? Okay so you will need the two movies after Season 7 to find this out. John Hurt's Doctor (#9) came in between Peter McGann (#8) and Christopher Eceleston (#10). That would make David Tenant #11, and Matt Smith as #12. But as legend has it the Doctor olny has 12 lives. A slight of hand blessing from the Time Lords sending regenerative energy through a time paradox allows us #13 and Peter Capaldi steps in. Buy the two movies after Season 7 to decipher all this yourself.

What's great about it: Price. BB had the Bluray set for $29.95. A steel all things considered.
What's not so great: It was a split season between companions. Maybe too short on each side but very good none the less.
