The zombies here are at a minimum, and the film owes a lot to select episodes of Walking Dead, especially the one with the Mayor. A couple legit martial artists are in this, but only about 15 minutes or so. This film took on a bit too many subplots and this ends up being a lot of confusion and distractions. Still, OK, just not memorable.
I missed the original, and while this makes me want to see it, I am not expecting much. This is more cop drama than martial arts action, and while OK, it is hardly much above average.
Joe certainly is prolific. But he does need to cut back on live stuff, like this latest studio effort. always a bit hit or miss, it's when he hits that makes the listening experience so nice, and he hits more than misses here. not perfect, but very nice.
While based on a true story, Ip Man was the teacher of Bruce Lee, this entire series is more drama than action. If you are looking for a good action flick, it is not here. Drama yes, with some action, but hardly worth the wait.
A Thai film, and while some of them are a bit odd, this one is good. Time travel is explore as a time loop keeps running different variations and people try to change it. Lots of pretty good action, some Parkour, decent fights, and a nice plot make this a very good one.
I bought part 2 first, and enjoyed it completely. Adult orientated (some nudity) but filled with action. It made me find part 1 and that is just as good. Plenty of shoot em up action and fast paced fights with a minimum of drama make this one to recommend. Just not for the kiddies.
The 2nd release from a minor super-group (Barry Goldberg, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Stephen Stills) fires on all cylinders. Though short, each track packs a decent punch, and the covers are very interesting. The pairing is working great and I can not only recommend this, but am looking forward to their third one!
I love Eric, Cream is one of my fave groups of ever. But as a solo artists, most of the time he just goes through the motions. This is one of those times. Unless somebody big pushes him (like Winwood did on the MSG shows, great stuff), he usually just presents with predictable bland stuff. That is what this is.
Set in the early 1900s or so, this is a pretty good martial arts film. Loosely based on areal person of Chinese folklore, but very loosely. Sammo Hung plays a bad guy, and does it well. Hung is the real deal by the way. Eddie Peng, a name I see more and more, puts in a great performance, despite the fact he is not a legit martial artists, he sure does a good job of acting like one. Many good fight scenes and a minimum of drama make this one recommended.
Beware, despite the claim on the DVD case, this is 99.5% n Cambodian. Kennau reeves is briefly in the film (15 minutes maybe) and has perhaps 30 or so words spoken in English. The rest is subtitled. If you can handle taht, OK. I cannot. The fights are decent enough, but not being in English I took it back.
