PNY user sticking with the brand

Replacing older PCs with a new box and have been tweaking it a bit to get to where I want to be which is to run VMs for everything - Win, Linux, etc.
One of the upgrades was to bump the RAM from 16GB to 32GB to allow plenty of RAM to be devoted to the VMs. This 2-pack from PNY hit the sweet spot. Have used PNY for years and always been a happy camper so this was a natural choice. Being in stock at my closest BB closed the deal.
Would I do it all over again if I had to? Without a moment's hesitation, yes!

Recently bought a new PC and wanted to increase the size of the included SSD w a fast reliable drive. Soooo...I did my homework and this one came up as a winner again and again.
Imaged the original drive, swapped in the new one, burned the image and off we go! It was just that simple and about as fast! This is fast enough to make whole-drive backups a reality [I'm the type that gets everything configured and burns a whole-drive image periodically vs an OS restore and then patching and patching and patching...no more!].

Great keyboard but still adjusting

Great mechanical keyboard, the "feel" is good, the sound is satisfying. Nice having USB and sound ports on the KB. Lighting effects are fine, adjustable, useful depending on ambient lighting level as gray letters on black keys benefit from backlighting.
I am not a gamer and bought the keyboard as I prefer the mechanical keyboard feel and sound. This is not an IBM M2 or a NorthGate Omnikey 102 from years ago; those are my yardsticks against which all keyboards are measured. If you know the M2, you know what I mean.
The key-bed is narrowed slightly to make room for the column of function keys on the left; this compresses the key pitch and I am still trying to adjust to this. Other than that, I'm very happy with the purchase.

No hype here - this works!

A recent business trip gave the perfect opportunity to test out the Lectrofan Sound Machine and it passed with flying colors.
In new surroundings, I typically do not sleep well for the first couple of nights. Different sounds etc play a role. So I took the Lectrofan with me to, hopefully, provide some background sound that would help me sleep and get some rest. There are choices of white noise and fans so I tinkered with it for a bit and found that the 2 sounds that worked best for me are the oscillating fan & classic white noise at a very low volume. Plus, it's small enough to be packed easily and is powered via USB so no big wall wart to lug around with it, a laptop USB port works just fine.
Of course, YMMV but this little guy really works! If you background sound to help you sleep, I highly recommend trying out the Levtrofan Sound Machine for its versatility and effectiveness.

Disappointed - Setup fails repeatedly, cannot use

Try and try as I might , I cannot get the Velop system to work as a system. The 1st node was setup, my desired network name was added and the password set. Regardless of how many different locations I try for the additional nodes, regardless of how many time I reset the additional nodes, they apparently cannot "see" the initial node.
I had great hopes for this system. None of them were realized.

So easy even I can do it!

As a single guy for whom cooking is a challenge and, in my experience at least, eating out regularly is not the best way to maintain a healthy diet/look ofter one's health, a better way to make a meal is always welcomed.
So juicing/smoothies/etc. have been on my radar a long while as a healthy way to stay in shape. When I travel I tend to look for juice bars, smoothie shops etc. and sample their offerings, keeping an eye on sugars, fats, etc. So what better way, while I am home, to duplicate that than by making my own, right?
Well, take it from one who would never survive without a microwave, the Ninja Nutri is what I've been looking. Simple is good!
Smoothies. Juices. Frozen drinks. It's all here. The blender has the modes to turn out these and more [this is all I've tried so far]. The included recipe book will keep me busy for awhile. Plenty of containers come in the package for prep, storage, taking with you.
I can point out only 1 thing I would change about the package. The cups are not insulated; keeping cold drinks cold longer in an insulated cup would be a great benefit [think about the cups with the name that begins with "T"].
If I could give a GH seal of approval I would. The Ninja folks did a great job.

Everything you need, nothing you don't

Photography has been a pleasurable hobby from the film days; from my experience, Nikon and Canon set the standards as far as I'm concerned. So, naturally, in the migration from film to digital, I kept those same brands as my equipment choices.
But wait a minute...regardless of camera brand, digital photography gives us so much more freedom and a good toolkit can make the most of the time we spend shooting. After trying the online photo editors, after trying subscription photo editor services, I've found the perfect "hammer" for my toolkit, Photoshop Elements.
It has the ability to be as simple as I might want [quick touch-ups to photos, etc.] while offering the ability to get down to the nuts and bolts of photo appearance.
What PE offers versus the full-blown editors is the basics, nicely presented and easy to work with, without the features I would never use anyway. That is the perfect package.
Because I do not shoot video, I cannot speak to Premier Elements but, if it is anything like Photoshop Elements, it's possibly all the software one would need to do their video editing.
If you are into photo editing to any degree beyond basic resizing and so on, if you want to pull details out of shadow areas, for example, and add another dimension to your photos' appearance, this is the one to get.

If you're reading this you are likely already familiar with routers for your home and have an idea what you're looking for as far as features are concerned. Even if you're looking for a first router and not sure what to look for regarding features, the main things we all have an interest in are speed and coverage.
Instead of going into details about all the features in this unit, I'll keep this short and sweet. Of all the routers I've used, the Linksys AC3200 consistently provides the strongest signal over the largest area of my house and surrounding areas of all the other routers, hands down.
Setup out of the box was straight. The only hitch in the initial setup was the Linksys Smart Wifi account creation [optional]; a router restart fixed the issue I was seeing of incorrectly drawn webpages.
The router has a built-in speedtest using the OOKLA site, great idea.
YMMV, of course, depending upon your own environment but, given that I have some difficult areas in my home and surroundings that the Linksys handled easily compared to other routers I own/have tried out, I can recommend this wth no reservations whatsoever.

Simple to use technology with great performance

Having setup and used many different brands of routers over the years this was my 1st experience with a base/satellite combo. I anticipated the performance benefits of having a satellite unit that could be placed where it would be best utilized but, instead of diving in and setting everything up when the package arrived, I waited until a technology-averse friend had some time to stop over for an evening.
Giving her the Orbi box with the 2 units and instruction notes, I stayed out of the picture with the exception of showing her where my router is located and an open port on the back into which she could plug the cable connecting to the Orbi. She had the system online in under 15 minutes; all I did after that was to change wireless networks on my Macs and connect my server to the Orbi base [wired] and give it a new IP.
Because I have only 1 802.11ac device I can't note performance other than a steady 567Mb connection rate. All my 802.11n units connected at 300Mb. Streaming movies from my media server while downloading files from the Internet produced no hiccups, no performance lags, etc. Of course, the main benefit is internal connections; my broadband is the 30Mb variety so a bump from 150Mb to 300Mb internally had little effect on Internet performance but I did see better streaming performance when moving files between server and desktop.
Absolute simplicity in setup, great performance, flexibility in moving satellite unit where it is needed, points scored for having 7 free Gigabit ports [3 on base, 4 on satellite]. Plus, it looks great!

No more K system for me - I'm a Ninja convert.

Like many, I opted some time back to use the K system when I wanted a cup of coffee, mainly for the convenience. All along, 2 things were in the back of my mind - waste and not knowing the freshness of the coffee in the K-cups. [I did purchase a DIY basket somewhere along the line to solve these 2 issues but more $$$.]
When the opportunity to check out the Ninja came along, I was onboard. Regardless of the convenience of the K system, variety is non-existent in my line of single-user machines; I welcomed the capability to use different brew modes to create the cup of coffee my mood dictated.
I'm now a Ninja convert. This machine is great. Easy to maintain [dishwasher-safe parts is a plus], the brew modes are varied and capable [the Rich Brew and Cafe Forte are my favorites], water reservoir doesn't require frequent filling [unlike my K system which require a fill/top-off each session. The glowing brew mode light as well as the subtle brewing-cycle-complete alert are nice touches.
It is not a small unit but is self-contained, down to a holder for the measuring spoon [2 scoop sizes for flexibility].
Bottom line, I can now have fresher cup of coffee, brewed the way I want, for much less $$$, at home.

Is there room to install an additional SSD?
These is a single free SATA port and an empty 3.5" bay with a sled. With an adapter of some sort you can add another SSD while retaining the 2TB HD.

Is there a difference using a gsync or freesync monitor with this machine?
Freesync is for an AMD GPU, Nvidia cards will not utilize it [which is not to say you cannot use a Freesync monitor with this box, you can].
