Basic Y-Adaptor; Perfect for basic applications

There's really not a lot to say about a y-adaptor cable. I purchased this one to accommodate a small bedroom 5.1 system. For that purpose, it works fine. I'm giving it an "Average" rating simply because it is *not* constructed like the more-expensive cables ... but as I said, it's perfect for situations where those "Monstrous" (and much more expensive) cables would be overkill.

This is my second Yamaha AV receiver, which is replacing my Yamaha Z7. The only reason for the change is because the Z7 doesn't support 3D, thus requiring a more complicated hook-up of my blu-ray player to my 3D TV and receiver. The Z7 (which is still working perfectly) is now serving in another room, providing top-notch sound for a non 3D system.
I chose the RX-A3030 based upon reviews, the feature set, and my past experience with Yamaha. (Before my Z7, I had a Denon which unfortunately experienced a number of problems and had to be replaced twice.) Based on my experience with the Z7, I had much more confidence in the RX-A3030.
I have a 7.2 speaker configuration ( two subs) and the RX-A3030 delivers beautifully. Setup was straightforward and the automatic YPAO did a superb job fine tuning the system for the odd acoustics in my Great Room. Admittedly, I'm not good about reading manuals and written instructions ... but that didn't seem to matter here. The on-screen setup menu is relatively easy to navigate. For those with less AV experience, the RX-A3030 makes it easy to get up and running quickly and yet, for those who want to dig deep into the settings and make manual configurations, the capability is there as well. I'm even using the free Android app on my Galaxy S4 to adjust settings "on the fly".
Sound-wise, the RX-A3030's DSP's deliver an oustanding sound field that help make the movies come to life. I even love the "Sports" DSP, which I activate when watching games on TV.
The only negative thing I have to say about this unit is that the included remote control isn't back-lit., making it a bit difficult to find the right button when watching a movie in a darkened room.
Finally, based upon my online research, I Best Buy had this receiver priced competitively, and with the reward zone points I earned from this purchase, I'll have a certificate to look forward to using on a future purchase. I ordered this BestBuy.com and it was delivered within just a few days. Great!
