The Swann Master Series is an excellent option for anyone looking to get an easy to use and easy to setup 4k NVR system. It is an indoor/outdoor camera system that features infrared night vision with lights for color night video as well which works very good in well lit areas. It makes use of heat and motion tracking combined to help reduce the number of false positive motion alerts received from objects moving due to wind or other reasons like that. The system uses traditional PoE for powering the cameras as well as recording the feed from each camera, so if you have a PoE system installed and are looking to upgrade you can just change the cameras and NVR without having to redo your cables, and if this is your first PoE system installation is relatively easy as you only need to worry about attaching one cable to the cameras and it uses Cat5e cable that is included and easy to buy if you need longer lengths of cable.
One thing to keep in mind with this particular systems is that it requires an account to setup, even if you only intend on using it locally and not connecting using the app, you still have to create or use your account. While it is nice that it makes connecting to the NVR from the app as simple as logging into your account, and none of the data is actually saved to Swann, it is still unfortunate that there is not an option for people who only want to run the system locally and don't want to have their information attached to an account. There is also support for syncing your footage and clips to Dropbox, but this option only allows for 2 cameras footage to be saved with clips from all of the cameras available as well, so you would have to choose which cameras you want to prioritize for this option. There is an option to save your footage using a USB stick or saving it over the network so you could possibly set up a backup to save everything to an external drive or NAS so that you can have your footage saved externally, while I haven't tested this, it does seem to be an option for anyone looking to save their videos externally. The system does include a 2TB hard drive which, with the 4 included cameras, should last for quite a while before having to record over old footage, but if you intend to expand the system by adding up to 4 more cameras, this space could get taken up much quicker depending on your settings.
Overall this is a great system for anyone looking to upgrade the security of their house or business and the fact that it includes almost everything you need, monitor not included, it is a great all-in-one NVR system. While I personally prefer having an option to setup a local account without having to sign up for a Swann account, I do appreciate that they make it very easy to access your NVR if you do want the option of using the app or using home assistants such as Alexa or Google.

The Dell S2421NX is an all around good monitor for anyone looking for a multipurpose 1080p monitor.
Featuring a 75Hz AMD FreeSync display with 4ms response time it makes a decent 1080 gaming monitor, the color and the contrast are also decent for an IPS monitor making it a decent choice for anyone who also needs a monitor for productivity. While it doesn't excel in any single area, it is decent for gaming and productivity, making it a good choice for anyone who needs a monitor that can be multipurpose.
The fact that the monitor features dual HDMI ports makes it easy to switch between different devices and the monitor itself looks good with a fairly thin bezel and an overall nice design (in my opinion). The on screen menu is simple but features everything you need to adjust the monitor settings to your preference as well as featuring color adjustments so that you can get it to be more color accurate if needed for your workflow.
The monitor stand is really my only complaint with this monitor, it only features 5 degree forward and 21 degree backward tilt adjustability, there is no other tilt options and the monitor cannot be rotated using the included stand. Fortunately this monitor is VESA compatible so you can mount it any way you want using a VESA stand.

Good headset with strong active noise cancellation

The BlueParrot S650-XT is an all around good headset that now incorporates strong active noise cancellation. If you are familiar with BlueParrott's line of products then this will not exactly be anything too different from some of their other headsets which are primarily designed for professional drivers and enterprise solutions. All of their headsets are designed to be rugged and work in loud environments while still providing crystal clear call quality, and the S650 is no different in that matter, what it does feature is a very strong active noise cancellation feature which is fairly new to BlueParrott's lineup of products as well as being a convertible headset which you can use as some decent speakers when you are relaxing.
While the microphone and speakers are amazing in high noise environments at making your calls clear and easily understood, they are not the best for media consumption, they aren't bad by any means but they aren't the greatest if your primary use case is media consumption, but, if you only intend to use them infrequently for stuff like that and your primary use case is to use as a handsfree wireless headset, then you will not be disappointed with these at all. I can easily recommend these to anyone that is looking for a handsfree headset with amazing call quality that can also be converted to work as an adequate pair of headphones for media consumption.

The ecobee Smart Thermostat Enhanced is an overall good smart thermostat for your home that works well and is easy to integrate with multiple different smart home systems. It is a great looking device that is easy to install as long as you ensure to check the compatibility tool that ecobee has on their site and ensure this device is compatible with your HVAC system. I really appreciate the overall design with the rounded corners and slim profile, this looks really good in any room that you need to install it in, at least in my opinion. The amount of information presented on the display is minimal yet effective at getting the settings you need most often when having to use the touch display.
Unfortunately, when you have to dig into more complex settings, the application is not the greatest and at least for me was the cause of several headaches that took too much time in my opinion to fix. I had some issues getting it to connect to the application in the first place and once I was able to do that I then had issues with it sometimes not showing up in the application at all. Hopefully these issues can be ironed out in future updates and it will be a great help to an otherwise great device. I do really appreciate the fact that ecobee allows integrations with so many different smart home systems; from Apple, Google, Alexa, SmartThings, and even IFTTT integration. This is great as you can adopt this thermostat to whatever smart home system you prefer and can operate it without having to use ecobee's application. I did a cursory search and it even appears that their is an integration available for Home Assistant allowing you to integrate this device into your own self managed smart home system.
The one downside with a lot of these smart home devices also applies to the ecobee thermostat and that is the uncertainty of long-term support from companies when it comes to smart home devices, it has happened many times where a company has either gone out of business or has stopped supporting a particular device and then the consumer is left either with a device that will no longer receive updates or, in most instances, they are left with a device that no longer functions at all since the company pulls all support for the device. I am not sure on ecobee's history in regards to this so I cannot speak for certain on how they will handle these devices when they get older and whether or not you will be able to still use this device if they decide to stop supporting it or if they will stop providing new updates but still allow the older devices to still function. It is something to keep in mind when buying any of these smart devices and it is something I hope these companies look at improving so that there is less e-waste from perfectly usable devices that are essentially bricked by the manufacturers.

Excellent wireless lapel microphone for content!

The Aluratek wireless vlogging lapel microphone is an excellent product for anyone looking to get into streaming or creating video content and looking for an easy method of getting audio into your content. This is the version of the wireless microphone that uses the lightning port, so it can only be used on iPhones or iPads that still use the lightning port. This is great for anyone who is still using those devices, myself included, but with Apple's recent changes on most of their devices going to thunderbolt or usb-c and the EU's recent legislation on standardizing ports on most devices, this will be less and less useful in the coming years. However, for the time being, this is still extremely useful for anyone that is still using lightning devices, and it is a great product for anyone who is just getting started with video recording and is looking for a lapel style microphone.
The fact that this device doesn't require any specific application to record or ingest audio is amazing and makes it so that you can use whichever application you prefer for recording audio. With the multitude of recording applications available on the iOS store there is a multitude of choices available for recording your audio, including the already included Voice Memos application that comes standard on iPhone and iPad. If you are trying to do live recordings you may have to get creative in how you add the audio depending on what you are trying to record, if you are doing live YouTube or Twitch videos on your phone using their apps then it will work just like any other audio device, but if you need a wireless lapel to record live video on your computer and want to get it into your livestream using your phone then you would need to look at using something like Discord on your phone to capture the audio and to then record the Discord program on your computer and add it into your livestream, you would also need to adjust the audio timing to your video but from a few short test that I tried of doing this it seems very possible if you need a wireless microphone for your livestream. Again, the easiest way would be to just use your phone to record the audio and video for a livestream like that and it would be much easier. In the case of videos that you are creating that don't need to be live then you just take the audio from your phone onto your computer and edit it together with your video and you would edit it just like any other video.
Overall, this is a great product and it does everything it advertises which is to make it very easy to capture audio for content creation, there is no additional application that you have to use, it is completely wireless with great battery life, it offers a way to charge your phone while using it so that you don't have to worry about your phone dying while recording your audio, and it is super easy to setup just by plugging the receiver into your phone and powering on the lapel. I really cannot complain about anything with this device and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a quick and easy way to capture audio with a wireless lapel microphone.

Extremely comfortable gel memory foam mattress.

The Serta Sheepless Night gel memory foam mattress is a great mattress that comes to your house tightly wrapped making it easy to transport and easy to get into your room for setup. There are several options for firmness and I went with the medium-firm version of this mattress and it has been great. It is a light mattress that is easy to move around and still manages to be firm even though it is slightly smaller than a traditional mattress.
I'm not sure what the actual dimensions are but it is definitely thinner than my previous queen size mattress, but since this is a gel memory foam mattress it is much more comfortable without any springs to dig into you while sleeping. Overall, this is a great mattress with really no downsides that I can think of and is a great replacement for "traditional" mattress'.

The HP LaserJet M410we is a great choice for anyone who prints infrequently and isn't worried about having a black and white printer. The scanner features are a plus and really do work well with some really nice features like printing ID cards on one side of a page without having to feed the paper back in (hopefully in the correct orientation). This is only a black and white printer with no color printing options, though it does scan in full color so if you only need color scans but don't mind having black and white prints this is a great choice. The fact that this is a laser jet printer is great for people who only print once-in-a-while as it won't dry up unlike cartridge or ink bottle printers, the one thing to note is that the paper is not enclosed on this printer so even if the ink won't dry up, if you leave paper in the printer it will become very dusty if you don't print often so it may be a good idea to only put paper in when you need it.
The only real complaint I have with this printer is instead of using Google or Apple's print services for wireless printing on your portable devices, HP has once again opted to use their horrible print application. I do not understand why they continue to do this when they have so many printers that DO use Google and Apple's services for simple wireless printing from your devices. I can not recommend using HP's application as it is just horribly designed and barely functional. But as long as you are fine hooking the printer up to your computer either wired or wirelessly for your printing needs and don't use a mobile device for printing then I can highly recommend this product as it is a great printer that is a good choice for anyone who doesn't mind black and white only prints.

The Samsung 980 PRO Heatsink is a great Gen 4 SSD for anyone looking to boost their storage capacity and speed. This SSD is able to run cool longer thanks to the attached heatsink which allows you to transfer large files fast for longer than similar SSDs without an attached heatsink. One thing to keep in mind is that the heatsink may or may not fit depending on your motherboard so you may want to check the clearance in your computer or device prior to purchasing this version of the Samsung 980. Samsung does have another version of the 980 Pro without the heatsink that you may want to look at if your M.2 slot is cramped for space. According to Samsung's website, this version of the 980 Pro with heatsink will fit inside of the PS5 so if that is your intended use then there should be no worries.

The Shure MV7X is a great XLR microphone for anyone who does voice recordings, anything from podcasts to your weekly Zoom meeting will sound great with this microphone. This microphone is the XLR only version of the MV7 so you will need to have some kind of audio interface to hook this up to your computer for recordings, so keep that in mind when considering the price of this.
Overall the MV7X is a great microphone that features a dynamic pickup pattern allowing it to remove most if not all background noise and it has a great sound without needing any kind of boost as some dynamic microphones need. Again this is not a complete kit and without USB you will need to factor in the cost of an audio interface to hook this up to your computer, but if you are looking for a good microphone for voice recordings of any type I would fully recommend the Shure MV7X.

The Google Pixel 6 Pro has been a great upgrade for me and overall is a great phone with a lot of great upgrades, however, there are also some very weird and annoying decisions that were made.
My previous phone was the Google Pixel 4a and the transfer process coming to the Pixel 6 Pro was simple and easy to complete, the phone has a great process of teaching you all of the new features by showing you simple and easy to understand examples and directions of the new features. The new Google Tensor processor is amazing and has made it possible to add many new features that work amazingly fast on-device, the ability to translate text and pictures, faster more responsive voice controls, and new camera features really show some of the capabilities of Google's new processor and they are great. I also really like the use of Google's Material UI and the ability to customize a color theme for the entire phone by simply choosing a primary color and the phone will take care of the rest of the process of picking accent colors, text colors, and more to give you a customizable and good looking interface for your phone. The adaptive and battery-saving features are great at ensuring that you have many hours of use with your phone by adjusting things such as screen refresh rate and killing off background processes that you aren't using, the phone learns your favorite apps and will keep them loaded while killing off processes that you aren't using frequently.
The one decision that has been the most frustrating for me with the Google Pixel 6 Pro is Google's decision to round the screen at the edges, it makes the phone thinner and more difficult to hold around the edges and makes it so that your phone is constantly picking up touch signals from the edge of your phone which prevents you from being able to click apps, type, scan your finger, and a myriad of other issues caused by ghost touch signals when you are holding the phone too close to the curved edge. The combination of the slick back and the curved edges make it very difficult to hold the phone and I have had it slip out of my hand on several occasions. I also am not a fan of the camera bar on the back and do not like the way it looks and would have preferred for them to make the phone slightly thicker to accommodate the camera sensors and to make the phone easier to hold. I also am not a fan of the new under-screen fingerprint reader and I feel that the old design on the back of the phone worked better since it was in the perfect location to quickly and easily unlock with your index finger on the back of the phone and it also worked much faster, it is quite common that the new fingerprint reader is very slow to unlock or doesn't unlock at all due to the curved edges causing issues with touch signals at the edge of the screen while trying to unlock.
While I think that Google did a great job with a lot of the new features on the Pixel 6 Pro, I also feel that they made some really bad decisions when it came to the actual physical construction of this phone, while some of these issues can be solved with a phone case to hide their design decisions, the curved edges of the phone have caused the most issues and frustrations for me and are issues caused by Google's bad choice to use something that hasn't worked for other phone manufacturers in the past. The curved screen has been done and failed before and Google didn't exactly do anything to make it better so I don't know why they bothered.

What is the current standard for secured WI-FI?
I am interested in putting together a wireless network. I understand that WPA, WEP, WEP2, and TKIP have been compromised. What is the current standard for secured WI-FI?
WPA and WPA2 are still the most used security standards used and as long as you are not using a weak short password and instead use a longer more secure password (letters, numbers, and symbols), it is still a very secure standard. However, on routers that have WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup) enabled, it can be used as a backdoor into your network through brute force. On most routers this is easily disabled, and in my opinion unnecessary on your own home network, but on other routers it is unable to be disabled leaving a way for your network to be hacked into. As with all security it is impossible to create a system that will not at some point be circumvented with enough time and patience, however for networking security standards WPA is still the best and safest option due to the enormous amount of time and effort involved with actually hacking into it if a good password is used.
As a note if you have any devices using WEP replace them as soon as possible since it is a matter of minutes to hack into devices using that method of security.
