Seems like a good alert system

I've never had a carbon monoxide detector in my home, but I've always wanted one just for that extra safety measure. They were a little too expensive for my budget at the moment, but I got this product on a whim being hopeful with the fact that it duals as a smoke alarm and carbon monoxide detector. I also really enjoy "smart" technology.
I'm a nerd for anything I sync up with my Apple products so seeing this pairs well with Apple Homekit was a win for me. The set up was super easy. I just followed the directions, downloaded the apps that I needed and the product synced up pretty effortlessly. I read in further research of this detector that some people have had a lot of issues with setups or being disappointed with how it functioned. It's too early in the stage for me to say that I truly love this thing as I only set it up yesterday and haven't tested it out fully, but my app seems to be working properly, the device seems to be connected and functioning and it hasn't gone off yet...so I'd say that's a good thing.

Incredible Recovery System!
on August 8, 2019

from Pittsburgh, PA
I've had this product for about 2 weeks now and have used it 4 times. So far, I have to say I'm super impressed and pleased with how my legs feel the next day after using this product!
It's a weird feeling to get used to at first if you don't do a lot of things that involve compression, but you get used to it fairly easily. There's 7 different levels you can try. The highest I've tried so far is 5 and that seems to do a great job for me. The compression is strong and consistent, but you also get a massaging sensation as well. The setup is really easy as well. The first time you charge the system, it does take a while so you just have to be mindful of that. The app you can download is user friendly and makes things a little more easy. Pairing your phone to the bluetooth was also easy.
The only three cons I can think of is that the length of the leg attachments is a little too long for me (I'm 5'5"). They bunch up at the top and the compression can feel a little too much/weird but it's bearable and not a deal breaker for me. The box that you can change the levels and session time on is surprisingly heavy and bulky and lastly is the price. It's a very expensive recovery system for the average person. If you train a lot or are a huge fitness buff, it really is worth it though. Even after 2 weeks of use after some heavy leg days, I can honestly say my legs don't feel as dead the next day and I'm able to get more out of my workouts because of it.

Sunglasses I Never Knew I Needed
on May 20, 2019
Posted by: Hannah
from Pittsburgh, PA
So, I'm generally a huge new tech fan. I love trying and reading about all the new technology that's coming out so when I heard about these sunglasses that also play music, I was really really intrigued and obviously needed to try them out. Overall, I never knew I needed/wanted sunglasses that also play music! I really like them. There are a lot of pros to them, but also a lot of cons. Let's get started!
- The packaging in my opinion is a 10/10. Very sleek, modern & makes the product seem high-end. They come in a very nice case that keeps them safe.
- The sunglasses themselves are very lightweight, which is great considering no one wants weighted sunglasses on their face just for the sound. They seem very durable despite the lightness. In someway though, I feel like material they're made out of seems cheap compared to how they're presented (packaging and branding). They do feel like you could easily break them but at the same time, I don't think that's the case.
- These are a lot bigger than what they seem in the pictures online. That's one of the most disappointing factors to me. I'm a woman and I have a pretty small face and these glasses look pretty bulky on me. They also have a very loose fit and slide down my nose A LOT. I wish there were multiple size options for these. They are very stylish though. I think they look really nice on even with the bulky factor.
- They're not polarized. Which isn't a huge dealbreaker for me, but I know for some people that might be.
- Now the biggest part: the audio factor. For Bose, I had higher expectations considering they're one of the top brands for premium sound technology. The sound quality is great. At a normal listening volume, no one could tell you're listening to music/podcasts on these things. They go pretty loud too, if you're into that sort of thing. The one downfall is that you can't adjust the sound quality and what I mean by that is there's no bass and you can't change any settings for more treble or less, etc...) which I don't mess with custom settings too often, but I def. wish there was any kind of bass.
- Now the app...oh the app. I'm not a fan. It needs the most help in my opinion. To start, to even use these headphones for sound, you have to download an app. And in a way that's kind of a turn off for the simple fact that there are a lot of bluetooth headphones out there that I can just connect to bluetooth without having an extra app on my phone. AND you have to have the app open for the headphones to connect easily. The whole UI/UX experience of this app is pretty poor but I could be a little more critical here than most because I'm a UI/UX designer and I appreciate great online experiences. The app also offers their own ways to listen to music and podcasts which I think is an interesting attempt for Bose to introduce their own platform for that when there's a lot of other ways to do so. They also seem like they're paired with iTunes because you can sync your account up with them in the app. They don't even mention Spotify or Pandora as an option you can listen to music with and that to me is deceiving and makes me think I can't listen to music using the sunglasses through those apps, which in fact you can. You just have to open the apps and play like normal. The app also suggests an AR introduction with these sunglasses which I would LOVE to use once it's implemented better. Right now, I feel like they introduced this part of the sunglasses too early. It's buggy and you have to download extra apps (there's navigation app, fitness apps, a golfing app and some other games) but some of the apps are available yet for download or not available for all devices. Very interesting and enticing concept, but so far poorly introduced.
- The other flaw in these sunglasses I feel is the battery life isn't that great. It's around 4 hours which seems like a decent amount but if you're taking a long walk/hike/bike ride or something, that's not a long time. I'd expect to at least get an entire day out of these guys.
Overall, I think Bose is ahead of the game as far as this kind of technology goes. They def. need improvement and I'm excited to see the app and overall sunglasses develop overtime. Despite the fit, I'll hold on to these guys because I like that I don't need to remember my headphones AND sunglasses when I'm out for a walk.

It's better than other charging pads
on March 19, 2019

I'm not going to lie, between my boyfriend and I, we've tried a few wireless charging pads for my iPhone and his Android and none of them have impressed us. They are all pretty tricky. We've had to set our phones very precisely on the pad or our phones wouldn't charge. This charging pad is the first one we haven't had as many problems having our phones charge. We set our phones down and they charge with ease. It doesn't charge our phones lightening fast, but decent enough. No complaints, but still not totally impressed. More impressed than other brands though!

Great Flash Drive For A Great Value

Because this thumb drive has such high capacity it's great for taking on trips where I need to work on files or primarily photo projects while away on an extended vacation. It holds an amazing amount of stuff and I can copy things from my main computer at home and bring them with me to work on on my laptop. I don't have to overload my laptop, just pick the files I want to work on on this thumb drive and then bring the completed work back home to load to my main computer. Perfect!

Charges My Phone Fast
on January 2, 2019
Posted by: Hannah
from Pittsburgh, PA
This charger is great if you're looking for a well made, inexpensive device to charge your phone in your car. It charges my iPhone 8s pretty fast compared to the other one I have. The app is easy to download and set up an account on. On the app, you can change the color of the LED ring around the edge of the charge to any color you like - i like silly details like that to make things fun. You can also track your car battery life for your car on the app and track the location of where you last parked your car. I don't necessarily find a great use for those two features. I use another feature in my iPhone to track my car's last location. The battery life is a good tool, i'm just not sure I'll remember I have it in my toolbox if I should ever need it. What I wanted this car charger for was for a charger and it meets my standards and expectations. The added features it has are just a bonus.

A great coffee and tea maker!
on October 30, 2018
Posted by: Hannah
from Pittsburgh, PA
Ninja is truly a different coffee maker. It has so many features that make it stand out from other brands. I love the fact that this machine makes great coffee, but great tea too. It also makes speciality drinks that you can't necessarily make with a brand like Keurig.
I love the variety of settings it offers for different kinds of coffees and teas. You have options to brew your coffee and tea strong or weak. It's easy to understand all the settings too. I'm not one that reads user manuals front to back and I like to figure out things on my own, and I was able to do this pretty effortlessly.
Just like the Keurig, you have different cup size options BUT with Ninja, you can also make an entire pot of coffee! Which is perfect for me, because while I drink cups of coffee...I drink multiple cups and just have to keep using K-cups or filling up the water tank, etc...which is comes with a water tank similar to Keurig. It's removable, easy to clean and the container is clear so you can see how much water is left. It comes with a coffee measurer too that attaches to the side of the machine. I personally don't use it very often because I'm one of those people that doesn't do exact measuring but I did think it was very clever to include it for use if need be
Honestly the feature that makes me very in favor of Ninja now is the frother. It allows you to make lattes easily and that's something I spend way too much money on at Starbucks.
I love this machine. I've been strictly Keurig for a long time but Ninja has changed my mind. The fact that I can make a pot of coffee, tea or a latte all within one machine makes me a very happy caffeine addict, haha!

A great healthy alternative to fried food!
on October 30, 2018
Posted by: Hannah
from Pittsburgh, PA
I really enjoy using this fryer! At first, I was pretty skeptical that food I wanted to fry would taste just as good "fried" this way. But if you're looking for a healthier alternative to fried foods, seriously, this would work SO well. I haven't owned or used this product enough to really speak in reference to it's long term quality or reliability but let's just say so far so good (knock on wood).
I guess the capacity of this fryer could be a problem being that it's only 4 quarts if you have a larger family you're preparing food for. But for my boyfriend and I, it's been the perfect size. I know there are larger options out there for air fryers too so at least you aren't limited if you'd like a larger one. Clean up is super easy on this as well. Most of the food I've made was ready in about 15 minutes and I usually don't check on it until the timer goes off.
- Very convenient
- No mess with oil
- Easy to clean
- 4 qt. is perfect for smaller portions or couples
- Stores easily
- Much healthier :)

5 stars! And this is coming from an Apple user!
on July 3, 2018
Posted by: Hannah
from Pittsburgh, PA
Let it be known before I dive into this review, that I am a dedicated Apple user. I've never had interest in any devices outside of Apple devices for a number of reasons. Mainly being they aren't the easiest to use in my career field (design). This Chromebook, however, has captured my interest.
This little tablet/computer is pretty handy. I was mainly just looking for something portable, larger than my phone but more convenient than my laptop to have around the house or to take with me when traveling.
I love the fact that I can use this device for anything from simple web browsing to office-program functions to watching Hulu or listening to music in the kitchen. The functionality is fast and very forward-thinking. Right from opening the box I was the stunned with the design. The ceramic white matte finish is so sleek looking. It honestly reminds me of Apple's design thinking. And I think the best part about this Chromebook is the detachable keyword. That's a game changer for me. Some things I like having a touch-screen surface for, but when I'm typing or working on something more in-depth that's where I like having actual keyboard functions. It's easy to detach and reattach and it seems sturdy and looks like it could take a little bit of a beating, which is good for my sometimes clumsy self. I think my only true complaint is I wish the keyboard lit up when in a dark area. The screen is so bright and clear but the keyboard is kind of hard for me to use without some sort of light on.
Screen resolution is beautiful. Wonderful picture and movie quality, color display, etc... Battery life seems great. I haven't had to charge it in the 3 days I've had it and I've spent a decent amount of time playing with it.
Setup was incredibly easy. Having a gmail account and using Chrome as your dominant browser make things effortless. Although, I do admit, since I primarily use Mac's, I struggled with the platform and how to download, open and switch to different screens. But it didn't take me long to adapt to the new surfaces and app store.
Now to what I'm probably most excited about with this nifty device – the capability to draw on it. Being a designer, I'm constantly doodling or sketching out ideas and in this day and age, drawing with a pen and paper are pretty old school. The face that I can pick up the stylus that came with the Chromebook, touch it to the screen and start drawing is purely awesome. I've downloaded a hand full of Adobe sketching programs that I'm really excited to start utilizing. Even in the program the tablet comes with, you can sketch beautifully. You can change the weight of your line strokes and use multiple colors, send it to others or save it on to your device. Very handy.
Overall, as a Apple user, I give this device two thumbs up and I'm incredibly happy with this product. HP, you're not that bad after all.

Good quality for a hardwood and rug cleaner
on April 29, 2018
Posted by: Hannah
from Pittsburgh, PA
Taking this product from the box and setting it up was super easy. The directions are simple and the set up and reading takes maybe a total of 10 minutes.
I've only used this product on carpets so far and overall, I'm pleased. I wouldn't say this cleaner did anything amazing or made my rugs look brand new but I'd say it did bring them to life a little more. I like the scent of the cleaner this product came with. It's very light and flowery but not in the overwhelming sense.
The cleaner is a little hard to maneuver, or at least it was on the rugs I have. Moving it forward and backward required a little bit of effort and could be straining for someone who has back problems or elderly. The noise it makes isn't too loud and it's easy to switch between rug and hardwood flooring.
I'd say this isn't a product for cleaning up major messes or extremely dirty rugs. If you're looking for something that does the heavy duty messes, I would suggest an actual carpet cleaner over this 2 in 1 cleaner.
