A great gaming computer!
on March 18, 2024
Posted by: Hannah
I would like to start off by saying I've been a Mac user for easily 15 years now so transitioning to a PC has been a little rough in some areas. I sought after getting this computer specifically for gaming after a couple of my friends convinced me to finally cave and buy one. I only know what to look for in a computer for designing so I was a little out of my comfort zone when it comes to knowing what's good and needed for gaming, so I relied heavily on my friends advice and expertise for this and so far, I'm not disappointed.
I think the first "shocking" factor for me is the price. I didn't realize how expensive a gaming computer could be, but after some research and discussions with my friends the price for what you get with this computer is reasonable. I think there's a ton of bells and whistles and this computer will last me a long time and is perfect for playing games on Steam with my friends.
The sheer size of the computer is taking some getting used to. I'm used to a mac which is pretty slim and lightweight whereas this is pretty bulky and not as easy to cart around. But I do love the display and brightness of it. The keyboard is large and easy to use. I love the rainbow lighting all around. This computer is very fast. It starts up without a hitch and loads everything at lightening speed. So far gaming, streaming and talking has all been seamless.
My biggest complaint is the batter life. I don't know if this is normal for gaming computers, but the battery doesn't last long at all. I think I get about an hour or maybe an hour and a half before it almost dies so I just try to keep it plugged in. I've also experienced some other glitches that I hope clear up on their own. The keyboard lights seems to glitch at night. Some times they don't turn on and some times they come on for a few seconds and go out again. And one time the computer completely restarted randomly while I was in the middle of something.
All in all, I'm very happy with this computer and excited to explore the world of gaming and PC's!

A ton of fun!
on March 5, 2024
Posted by: Hannah
To start off, I've never owned or even ridden a scooter before. When an opportunity to get this scooter presented itself I was pretty hesitant because I live in a pretty hilly neighborhood and the surrounding city around me is crowded and pathways aren't the smoothest. But, after some convincing from my husband, we decided to give this product a go. With the couple nice days of Spring weather, this thing has been a lot of fun to test out and I am actually glad we added this "gadget to the mix of things.
Upon delivery, you'll first notice the box is pretty heavy and cumbersome. I was a little surprised considering it's supposed to be a fairly compact scooter. Once I unboxed it, the scooter itself was pretty easy to assemble. You pretty much only need to attach the handlebars and you only need a hex wrench which they include. I will say, I did have a little bit of a hard time getting the screws screwed in all the way. For some reason it felt like they weren't lining up with the holes completely. I ended up giving up on trying to screw them in completely, but made sure everything was secure and still stable.
Admittedly, when I get a new device of any kind I'm a "figure it out a long the way" type of person, but because I've never actually used a scooter before I decided to read the manual from front to back and I highly recommend doing that because there's a few things that I wouldn't have thought of or known had I not read it. The manual notes that the scooter shouldn't be used in wet conditions, or on uneven surfaces and it suggests fully charging it before using it the first time. It didn't take very long to charge, maybe an hour or less than that and I was good to go.
Now the fun part...testing it. Not going to lie, it was a little hard finding a relatively flat, dry and uncrowded area where I live. My husband and I ended up going to a local park and it worked out well. There are 4 actual settings to the scooter. The first one you can go up to 3mph, the second one goes to 9mph, third one 15mph and fourth one 20mph. I worked up slowly to the fourth setting and boy is it a thrill once you reach 20mph. It feels like you're flying. All you have to do is give yourself a push and push down the throttle and away you go. I accidentally pushed the throttle down the whole way the first time and it gives you a bit of a kickback which startled me. I recommend gradually pushing down the throttle to build up to the speed you want. Overall, the ride is incredibly smooth. I weigh 130 pounds and and felt very stable and sturdy on it. My husband weighs about 185 and said the same thing. This scooter is very well made and doesn't feel cheap in any sense.
Once I got used to riding this thing, it was a lot of fun. The only thing that takes some getting used to is going around corners or in a loop. Cutting the wheel is a little hard and can make you feel off balance for a little. I've tested the brake plenty enough and it's very solid in stopping you, even when going the maximum speed. I wouldn't completely pull the brake though, I feel like you could easily go flying forward if you tried to abruptly stop. I would consider investing in a helmet honestly.
All in all, this thing is pretty fun. It's convenient to put in the car and go and I can see myself taking this with me on vacations or camping if the conditions are right. It also helps get my husband outdoors. He can use the scooter and I can rollerblade. A win win to me!

Hats off to Anker on a great power station!
on December 1, 2023
Posted by: Hannah
Over the course of this year, I've been really interested in portable power stations but never went through with any purchase for one reason or another. I'm happy that I waited until I came across this Anker portable power station because it's a perfect option for me. I mainly see myself using this outdoors as I like to camp and hike and go on roadtrips a lot.
I haven't tested this outdoors yet, but I would use it to power my husband and I's phones, a speaker, a hiking satellite communicator and to blow up/deflate an air mattress and I'm more than confident this could power all of those things. It's a strong little product.
Upon arrival, it came almost fully charged, so I charged it all the way to 100% and tested it out for a day while I was at home. In the course of a day, I was able to charge two phones, my laptop, airpods, a speaker and even power a small electric heater. After all of that, the battery life dropped to only 56%. which I consider a win.
Overall, I love the design of this power staton. It's compact enough that it won't take up much room when packing a car, lightweight to carry around and can power/charge all of my devices at once giving me peace of mind when I'm not only outdoors, but also at home! We don't get many power outages where I live but I do work remotely and this will be a nice backup to have just incase something were to happen, especially during the winter months!

Great emergency contact feature
on December 1, 2023
Posted by: Hannah
As a woman, I was interested in this alarm because I go solo hiking and walking a lot and was looking for something to feel a little more safer with. I perviously owned a safety alarm that I kept on my keychain, but it kept getting triggered by accident. Overall, my first impressions of this product are mixed. I love the text message feature and the fact that it's very compact, but the overall design could use some adjusting I think and the app isn't anything to write home about.
Install and setup were pretty easy. You put the battery into the alarm by unscrewing the top and after doing so you'll hear 2-3 beeps indicating that it's on. Once you do that, you'll need to download the Swann Security app and go through the processes of signing up and registering/pairing the alarm. And that's pretty much it. In the app, you can add your emergency contact, who will get the text messages if you trigger the alarm. And of course like everything else, there's a paid and free version of the app. With the free version, you're able to have only one contact so you better make sure it's someone who has their phone near them. With the paid version, you are able to add up to 5 contacts and opt in for professional monitoring. Like I mentioned, the app isn't much to write home about. It's designed to set up more Swann products and to sell you on upgraded memberships. It's intuitive enough.
Using the actual alarm was a little confusing at first. I was under the impression that if I pressed the red button on the alarm that after 3 seconds it would sound AND alert my contact. Instead, it just sent my contact my coordinates and told them to get help. I was a little disappointed it didn't also make a sound, but my contact did receive a text message very fast and the coordinates were accurate to my location.
Now comes my biggest complaint. The actual sounding of the alarm. To sound the alarm, you have to pull the ring up to pop the button out and boy is it hard. I actually thought my device was broken as first because I couldn't get it to pull up. If I were in a real emergency situation and nervous or trying to deploy it in a hurry, I'd be afraid I couldn't in time. After some trial and error and using the carabiner, I finally got the alarm to sound, and honestly it's not that impressive. The alarm isn't ear-piercing or loud at all. My other alarm was much louder and frightening.
All in all, the best feature of this product is the text messaging feature. I guess the true test is actually needing to use this thing when i'm out hiking alone, which I hope to never have to do. If I fall and get hurt, this would be great to alert my contact to get help. But if someone were about to attack me...well I'll still keep my pepper spray within arms reach.

A futuristic approach to skincare
on September 26, 2023
Posted by: Hannah
As a 30 something year old, I've started to step up my skincare routine over the last few years. I like trying new products and seeing what is out there so naturally when I saw this device I was really excited to try it.
I've never tried a Therabody product, but I have always heard great things about the brand and so far Theraface is holding up to the expectations. I've only used this device for 1 week now and I haven't seen any huge results but I can say my skin is a little bit smoother and my tone has even out a bit.
Upon unboxing this mask, I'm not gonna lie...I laughed out loud because of how crazy it looks. It literally looks like some kind of futuristic halloween mask. While it looks rather intimidating, it's actually incredibly easy to use. There are two buttons, one on the left and the other on the right. One controls all of the massage features, including the 15 minute massage treatment and the other is the on/off button and cycles through the different light treatments. You turn it on and it automatically starts the 9-minute recommended daily treatment. If you press the button multiple times, it cycles through the red, red + infrared and blue light settings. It's really that easy. After the 9-minute treatment it automatically shuts off.
What's truly my favorite thing about this mask, is that it just takes 9 minutes of daily use to be able to see results. And the best part? I can multitask while wearing the mask. I've been able to lay down and relax or use this while I'm sitting at my desk working. It gives me hope that I'll be able to stick with this routine because of the flexibility of being able to still do things.
Like I said, I used it for 7 days and today was the first day that I've had to charge it. So it looks like it lasts a week of daily use before charging which is pretty great.
As far as how the mask feels when wearing it, it does feel a bit odd. That's probably my only con so far. I think I have an average sized head, but maybe on the smaller side of average so when I first put it on I was afraid it might not actually fit. And it does barely fit. I have the velcro all the way to the limits. So with that being said, it could probably adhere to my face a little bit better to be able to fully feel the massage features. I do feel them, just maybe not as much as someone else would.
I also have to give a shoutout that this device is FDA approved, which I'm impressed by. I've gotten more into looking at products and the safety or legitimacy of them and it makes me feel better that this is backed by clinical studies.
Overall, I'm feeling positive and excited to continue using this mask. It's easy to incorporate in my day and even if they're small, I'm seeing some type of results after a week's use. If anything, it gives me a nice little massage and it's a great way to try to get me to relax. I'm going to day daily photos to try to track any more progress and I suggest anyone does the same! It's a fun way to track progress. :)

Another great attachment for muscle tension!
on September 11, 2023
Posted by: Hannah
I rely on my hyperice hypervolt 2 to keep my chornic muscle tension at bay when i'm in-between massage and chiropractor appointments. My husband also relies on it to help relieve tension after playing sports. When we saw there was a new attachment that heats up, we were SO excited to try it!
Let me tell you, it did not disappoint. I love this attachment! It looks so sleek and heats up so fast and you can actually feel it while using the device. I could feel my shoulder and upper back tension dissolving almost immediately. My husband said it helped with his shoulder blade and lower back pain.
You turn it on and off by a button on the side of the head. That same button is also how you toggle through the 3 different heat settings that are available. They range from warm to hot but not "burn your skin" hot.
I haven't needed to recharge the attachment yet, but it looks easy by using a usb style cord that can plug into an adapter. I've used this 5 times now for about 10 minutes each time and it hasn't needed recharged yet.

Secure wall mount option
on July 24, 2023
Posted by: Hannah
My husband and I were able to install this on our wall pretty painlessly. From start to finish it took maybe an hour and that was us just taking our time and being extra careful.
So far our 75" Hisense TV feels secure and sturdy on it. I always get a little nervous at first thinking it's just going to detach from the wall, but I don't have that feeling with this one. The design of the wall mount itself is pretty sleek and it's definitely a slimmer design compared to our other wall mount. I like that our TV doesn't' stick out from the wall too much. It just looks cleaner and is less bulky that way.
I think my biggest complaint is that it doesn't seem to swivel or move as easily as our other one. Luckily we don't really need to move the TV around that much since our view is pretty straight on from our seating, but it would be nice if it was more flexible just incase. It's not that it's not entirely flexible, it just takes a lot more effort overall and that can be hard with a large 75" TV.

Really blows!
on April 25, 2023
Posted by: Hannah
This is the second battery powered leaf blower I've owned and I'm very happy with it.
Upon unboxing, this was super easy to assemble. I wouldn't even say there's anything to assemble really. It's more so just attaching the nozzle to the body unit, and the extension tube to the nozzle if you want.
The battery will need charged before first use, but I was really impressed with how quickly it charged. I plugged it in and I want to see no less than 20 minutes it was fully charged. My only "complaint" is how loud the power supply is when it's charging. It startled me at first. I charged it in my living room, so next time I'll just charge it in a room where I can't hear the noise too much.
As far as usage goes, I've used this probably 5 times so far and I haven't had to charge it yet. I don't have a huge yard and am not doing any intense leaf blowing, so I might be out of the norm on usage time. It says it lasts about an hour if you're using high power and using turbo. The battery seems strong and durable. I love that it offers a turbo function, and in general a variety of settings for speed. The extension tube is nice to get into cracks and crevices that are a little harder to clean. My own personal favorite feature is the cruise control setting so my poor carpel tunneled hands don't have to hold in a trigger while using the blower, haha!
Overall, super happy with this product! It gets the job done in a quick and comfortable fashion and I love that it's better for the environment than a gasoline operated one!

Decent phone mount
on February 28, 2023
Posted by: Hannah
I've only used this a few times and so far it's held up my iPhone 13 just fine.
The magnetic is really strong and sturdy and secures my phone to it. I've never been a huge fan of vent mounts because they never seem to stay put especially as I'm driving. I live in Pennsylvania where the roads are bumpy and potholes are plenty.
But overall the mount fits pretty securely into my vent. I did notice as I was driving it did slide a little bit. It seems like the weight of my phone might drag it down and knock it loose. I'm going to play around with trying to make it fit more snug so I won't have that problem hopefully in the future.
I'd say this is just an okay mount. For the price you can't beat it. I feel like the design could have been better to be more equipped to support the weight of phones and for in the vent. It seems like it could easily break but I'm crossing my fingers that it holds up at least for a year. I've got some bigger road trips planned in the next couple months so I guess that'll be the true test!

Innovative and practical flat iron
on October 30, 2022
Posted by: Hannah
This straightener is so much more advanced than my old one. At first it was a little confusing to turn on and change the settings on it but the instruction book covers how to change things pretty well. I'm not crazy about the touch-style way you have to select settings and the temperature at but I'll hopefully get used to it. I do really like that there are setting options for your hair length, texture and if it's color treated or not. Based off of that info it heats up to the perfect temperature that won't damage your hair. You can save your settings for next time too which is nice. It heats up pretty fast and can get very hot.
I have color treated hair that's a little shorter than shoulder length and it's a little bit thinner and frizzier. So far I think this makes my hair a little more frizz-free and I don't know any damage. I find it really easy to straighten or curl my hair or do some waves. I can even style my bangs pretty easily.
Overall this seems like a really solid and innovative flat iron!
