Great for game console storage

I use this on my Xbox One X as my mass storage for games that I don't play as often. It is a little noisier than my old 4TB MyBook, but nothing that would distract from a movie. Load times are on par with the internal drive, and I use a separate 512GB SSD external for faster loads. WD drives have never let me down, and I expect this to last for many years to come.

I use this as an alarm clock and smart speaker in my bedroom. I can give voice commands to turn on/off lights, or ask about the weather, or play my Spotify playlists. Solid build quality, good speaker, can be plugged in or carried around on batteries reliably for 3-4 hours. I secretly wish it had Alexa, but Google Home works just as well. I just don't like saying OK Google. I want to say "Computer, play music".

Great for ambience, but not for AmbiLight-like use

These are great for use with you Hue lights setup, but a little pricey for what they can do. I use this behind my TV along with eight other lights in my living room, and it does a great job of casting an ambient glow. But, that dream of having those lights sync up with what's on the screen are dashed as the entire string is the same color; they are not individually addressable. If you want to light a walkway, under a couch or counter, or the wall behind the TV, these are great. If you want the wall behind the TV to change and move along with what you're watching, look into DreamScreens.

Great range of functionalit, with one deal breaker

This does everything you expect. Universal device support, interesting smart home integration, multifunction macros. But then Logitech's activity software has one unforgivable flaw. Every time you change activities, it must turn on any device it controls. Of course it does, right? How would it control a device if it isn't turned on? You see, that's the problem... the devices are already turned on, so when it resends the command, your stereo may turn off, or your TV blinks, or everything simply turns off and back on... all just because I'm on the activity using Input1 and want to change to the activity on Input2. This is even more annoying because I like to run my 9.1 Yamaha AVR in powered-off pass-through while using headphones. I've been an AVphile for more than twenty years, and I know how to program the VCR. This isn't operator error. Seriously, this issue alone made me regret my purchase. The old pre-internet requiring Logitech software was far superior to when this kit uses now.

At first, I just wanted lights to fade on with my morning alarm. I've not had to frighten or annoy myself awake since Then, I added Alexa. Crawl into bed, and "Alexa, turn off the lights." Sweet. Once you realize exactly how much these lights can change your room, you'll start creating scenes and timers. I don't reach for the wall switches anymore as I enter or leave a room. I leave the house, my lights turn off. I get home, and one turns on. I have routines setup to change my scenes throughout the day, so I transition from "Dawn" to "Foggy Morning" to "Sunny Day" to "Early Afternoon" then "Sunset" then "Twilight" and finally "City Glow". If I want to change the mood or brighten or dim, just ask Alexa to do it! Want a party? "Alexa, turn on Colorloop". And I can add motion sensors to have one or two lights turn on at night on a trip to the fridge. Then you start realizing that adding a few smart outlets or sensors will let you use voice commands with Alexa to turn fans on/off, or control your TV and stereo, and even the thermostat. Xbox One X compatibility. Is it possible, and if so how do I need to configure it? The new One X shows an ability to configure hard drives for you, however I would like this for strenuous hard drive dependent games (Skyrim's Mods for example).
Yes, this will work with the XB1X. No spebial configuration required. Just plug it in, select that you want to use it for games (will only work with consoles) or for media storage (movies, music, and pictures, and can be used between consoles or computers). I use this with my XB1X dev kit, and it is an absolute champ for quickly loading games.
