Don't get me wrong, everything works as advertised. Easy to install the sensors, just peel the tape and stick them on. Easy to configure the base station and keypad and then you realize that without shelling out at least $14.99 a month all you get is a loud alarm. There are no alerts to your phone unless you subscribe and very little you can do with IFTTT if that's what you're thinking. I will purchase their external 105dB alarm to at least annoy the neighbors to come see what's going on but I really don't want to spend $180 a year when I already have cameras around my house. The least they could do would be free text alerts/email if the alarm goes off.

I got the Jaybird Run to use as a backup pair since I'm always forgetting to take my Apple Airpods to work with me or I leave them at work and forget to take them home. Using the Jaybird app allows me to customize the sound to my liking for any particular type of music I am listening to. The earbuds come with 4 different sizes of ear tips and fins to keep the buds securely in my ears. The charging case is a little large to carry in my pocket but connects to my computer using the included Micro-USB cable and charges the ear buds pretty quickly. My only complaint about the unit is I can't crank the volume up quite as loud as I would like. That's not a problem if I'm just sitting or walking but I usually like to listen to something while mowing the lawn or using my snowblower and it just doesn't go loud enough for my taste. Other than that I am enjoying them very much.

I've considered a robot vacuum cleaner for many years but never thought they could get the job done properly. I was right to a point. I have a lot of chairs, tables, and things on the floor that I thought would be obstacles for the robot, but I was wrong about that. This robot travels the floor and makes so many passes it eventually gets around everything. Using it's little spinning brushes, it's able to get the edges of the furniture but still can't get into extreme corners. I then had to pull out my other stick vacuum to get into those corners. Also, It's only good for one floor as far as I can tell, because if it maps out the floor and obstacles and then you take it to a different floor, it would have to re-map the first floor again. Also, it obviously can't do steps so out comes the other vacuum again. I was impressed on the amount of dust and hair it picked up only a few days after I vacuumed with the other vacuum. It amazes me how it's able to go back to it's charging base when completed.

I have an Acer Chromebook 11 that was given to me at work a few years ago and I barely used it since the screen is so small. This Chromebook 15 has a large, incredibly bright, sharp screen and at first glance one might mistake it for a MacBook Pro. I once demoed the Chromebook at my Macintosh Computer Users Group and told them how great it was. I said I didn't expect them to get rid of their Mac for it but if they need a second computer or needed to buy one for a family member who only needs to go on the web and get email, a Chromebook was so much cheaper than a MacBook and would do what they needed. On this Chromebook, I was even able to install and run many Android apps (even though I'm a hardcore iOS fanatic I never thought I would use Android). It's amazingly fast, has great sound through it's large up facing speakers and has a very wide viewing angle. For it's price it's a better laptop to use than a Windows PC since you never have to worry about getting a virus as you can always do a power wash on it and be back to where you started in minutes. It's a wonderful laptop.

I had been using a 23" television as a monitor since it had multiple inputs and I could switch between my PC and my Mac (as a second screen). Being a TV, even though the resolution was 1920x1080, it just wasn't sharp enough for most work. I decided I would go to a 27" monitor with multiple inputs and this Acer S271HL Gbidx has HDMI, DVI and VGA. Even though it's the same 1920x1080 resolution, it's way sharper than my old TV was. Best of all it has a very easy on screen guide to the buttons that will switch between them. The monitor has a very thin bezel and a very wide viewing angle (178 degrees).It also has a blue light mode for night time use. All in all I am very pleased with it.

Bright Sharp Vibrant Images

My Macintosh computer users group has been using a Hitachi projector for presentations since 2001 (it cost us over $3200) and it's getting old in features. Nowadays we want to connect devices using HDMI and that projector didn't have HDMI. It was also pretty low res and the image wasn't very bright. People were complaining that it was getting hard to read the screen so we decided to get a new one. We bought an unknown Chinese brand home cinema LED projector that claimed to be 4200 lumens but when compared to ours at only 1200 lumens, ours was way brighter and sharper. That one got returned the following day. We decided to go with a business presentation projector that uses a bulb rather than LED and I have to say this one is way brighter at 3300 lumens than our old one and only cost a little more that $400. If you want a bright image, stick to a name brand like Epson and you can't go wrong.

Great Replacement for Apple Airport

For years I used Linksys routers but after a few failed, I decided to switch to an Apple Airport. I've been happy with it for many years until I bought the Ring Video Doorbell 2 and I had trouble connecting it to the Airport because, as the Ring tech said, "it was too far from the Airport". It was only 8 feet away! I moved it to about 3 feet away and it gave me a slightly better signal, but still not great. I decided it was time to get a new router. Since Apple is no longer making Airports, I started to read about other routers and the D-Link Exo AC2600 MU-MIMO WiFi Router sounded good so I decided to give it a try. I put it over where the Apple Airport was originally and connected it to the Ring Doorbell and got a vastly stronger signal. In addition, when streaming 1080p videos from my Mac to my Apple TV, I used to get buffering problems every so often. Not so with the D-Link Exo. I'm getting a strong consistent signal with no buffering. Also when connecting to my iPhone from the furthest corners of my house, I now get full bars. I'm glad I switched. My only issue with the D-Link Exo is it's size. It's has a lot larger footprint than the Airport so I had to shift things around to make room for it.

Wow, I might vacuum more often

I've been using a Hoover upright for many years but due to it's weight and the wire that always gets in the way and the canister that has to be removed in order to clean it out, I vacuum very rarely. This Shark ION Rocket is so light and easy to manipulate around the furniture, I actually enjoyed vacuuming the floor. The battery took about 2 hours to charge and I was on my way. In a snap it converts to a handheld so I could clean the chairs and corners of the room without having to go back after I finish the floors. Holding it over the trash can, I pressed the button, the lid opened and the dust dropped out. I'm really looking forward to vacuuming the house again next week.

Years ago I bought a Harmony 880 and never used it because at the time I was using a video projector/electric screen. The remote didn't have codes for it and the projector was behind me and the DVD player, receiver, cable box were behind the screen. I have since gotten rid of the projector/screen and bought an LCD tv. The old remote now wouldn't work with the AppleTV and Roku.
This remote, the Harmony 665 was easy to setup using the software on my Mac and everything works fine with the exception of my old PS3 which I use for playing Blu-Rays. I found that I would need to buy a Harmony Hub in order for it to work with the PS3. Outside of that, the 665 works great turning on the TV/receiver/AppleTV, TV/receiver/Roku, TV/receiver/cable box and still has room for additional devices as they come along.
This remote, the Harmony 665 was easy to setup using the software on my Mac and everything works fine with the exception of my old PS3 which I use for playing Blu-Rays. Works great with Echo and Siri

I spent a lot of time searching online for a system that would work with both the Amazon Echo and Siri. I finally decided on the Lutron Caseta and I'm glad I did. It works perfectly. It was easy to install and using the Amazon Echo is like talking to the Enterprise computer. It lets you not only turn on and off the lights but dim them at various degrees. I now have four of the switches set up and will probably add a few more in the near future.

The battery is removable but you would have to buy some kind of charger as there is no jack on the battery to charge it directly. So you really do have to take the whole camera in and plug it in to charge it or buy a solar panel for it.

Do these plug into a power source or are they battery operated?
There is no internal battery, it comes with a USB cable and power adapter that plugs into an electric outlet. I suppose you could use an external battery pack to plug the USB cable into but then you would have to charge the battery pack constantly.

It needs to be on your home network and the same network as your cell phone.

No, the lock has nothing to do with the door knob, it just replaces the lock/deadbolt. You still need a doorknob to open the door.

Yes the lock is reversible. When setting up the lock, it uses a method where it "hands" the lock to determine which direction the lock is facing.

No, it just replaced the door lock/deadbolt. The door knob has nothing to do with the lock

Will I be able to format this for Mac and if I already have something saved on it will reformatting it negatively affect the saved information
When you reformat it for Mac, you will lose everything on it. It will wipe it clean so be sure to copy everything form the drive to your computer, reformat it and then copy everything back. If both your PC and Mac are recent computers, I would suggest you use the ExFAT format that can be read on both computers and has no file size limit like Fat32 does.
