Remember when they made good movies? Not 100 million $ collossus' , just good movies that affected you on every level. The characters are well drawn and fully realized. Moments of hilarity. The mass media tends to ignore fantasy stories, especially high fantasy stories. So it came as a pleasant surprise to me that George R.R. Martin's fantasy epic A Song Of Ice And Fire was being adapted for television -- and HBO crafts it with all the dignity it deserves, with plenty of grime, blood and a tangle of convoluted story lines..

Barbershop used to be a place of peace.” Chicago is in a bad way. The violence has begun to take over and it finally hits the area around Calvin’s barbershop. When Calvin’s son becomes involved in gang violence he has to once again wonders if the best course of action for his family is to close the shop. This series has been very strange. The first one was funny but didn’t think it needed a sequel. The second one was really bad and I didn’t like it at all. This one though I thought was the best of all 3. That being said that all pretty much have the same plot. This one has nothing all that original and the movie is fairly predictable but the reason to watch isn’t for the plot. This movie has a great and very timely message. It was a little strange to see the guy responsible for F the Police to have such a strong anti-violence movie…but that actually adds a little to the impact of it. Overall, the best of the series with one of the best messages of any movie in the last few years. I actually recommend this for that, and the laughs. I give this a B.

For the guys who like butt kicking

Hardcore Henry was a whole lot of fun. A true first person shooter fan's wet dream of a movie. The plot is thin, the action spectacular has a cool plot device and the obligatory "twist". If you go in understanding that this is a partly crowd funded, independent movie, it is EASILY, HANDS DOWN, the best independent action movie ever made.
From beginning to end, you are the hero of the movie, and that certainly has it's pros and it's cons. If you're sensitive to motion sickness, it might mess with you a bit, but I found that it didn't bother me at all. Because of the "first person" view, don't expect too many "cinematic vistas", the visual splendor comes from the intense, never yielding, constant flow of action and violence.
You've never seen a movie like Hardcore Henry, but I'm guessing if you've played a few video games you've basically seen this film but to see it play out in real life (most of the action in this movie is practical effects with the use of editing to make "the magic happen") is truly something to behold. When you see Henry hundreds of feet off the ground suspended from a helicopter and his rope is cut, the footage of him falling to the Earth in magnificent style, really happened. When you see Henry free-climbing buildings or being blown off the roof of a truck, a real actor was bungied off a truck and the equipment was all edited out later. What I'm telling you is that this movie has AMAZING stunt work that might get passed off as simple computer "animation" when it's not.
Finally, I have to mention Sharlito Copley. If you're not a fan of this guy (District 9, or Murdoch from the A-Team movie) you will be when this is over. In the course of this movie he plays a wide variety of personalities and it works very, very well.
I don't write reviews like this much, but I think this movie is going to fly under a lot of people's radar. Let me be clear though, this movie knows it's audience. If you have to think really hard when you watch a movie, pass on this one, it's not deep. If you want a date night movie, this isn't the one. (Caveat being if your girl is a HARDCORE first person gamer, then you might be her hero.) But if you're a guy that likes your action video games, your finishing movies, your gun play, and movies with cyborgs, violence,strippers, guns, coked out madmen, guns, bad guys with psychic powers, guns, violence, grenades, guns and violent bad guys with guns, this movie is going to impress you.

“I don’t need anyone. I’m going straight to the top." Michelle Darnell (McCarthy) has had a hard life. Living in and out of orphanages growing up hardened her and made her the woman she is today; one of the richest and most powerful women in the world, and former prison inmate. When she is released she has nothing and no one to turn to, except her former assistant Claire (Bell). Willing to accept her in for a few days but after Michelle takes Claire’s daughter to her Girl Scout meeting everything changes. After watching the last few McCarthy movies I have said that she only has a few movies left before her humor starts to get played out. After watching this one I realize that I am wrong. She is as hilarious as ever in this one and is one of her best movies she has ever made. She really lets loose in this movie and says and does things that are different then her usual unsure of herself characters, and it works. There is something about her that is just so likeable that even when she plays a character like this you can’t help but laugh with, and not at. Overall, one of the funniest and smartest comedies I have seen in a while. I laughed out loud many many times watching this, and I watched by myself. McCarthy is a comic genius and I can’t wait till her next movie. Watch this today, unless you offend easy. I easily give this an A…a very very hilarious A.
