One of the best biopics EVER

"Straight Outta Compton" (2015 release; 147 min.) brings the story of the mega-influential hip-hop group N.W.A. As the movie opens, we hear radio and TV snippets over the opening credits about "the war on drugs" and the "crack epidemic in America". After the opening credits, we are reminded that this is "Compton, CA, 1986". During the initial 20 min. or so, we get to know how N.W.A's five members (Dr. Dre, Easy E, Ice Cube, DJ Yella, and MC Ren) all live in Compton and are dealing with various problems (the police being one, obviously), and how N.W.A eventually came into being. To tell you more would spoil your viewing experience, you'll just have to see for yourself how it all plays out.

Nice throwback soundtrack

There's no song that's not good on this soundtrack, some real good bangers on here along with some smooth tracks from Parliament and Roy Ayers and the like. Had to buy it after seeing the movie, I couldn't pass it up. Any fan of old-school hip-hop and N.W.A would love this.

Pretty funny spoof

I don't understand the dislikes on this movie. I thought it was pretty darn funny. Marlon and the Wayan's know how to lampoon a film and this is no exception. I laughed, I smiled, I chuckled and I also love Marlon! He is hysterical with his sense of humor as well his sense of irony are so over the top and always makes me laugh. And one of his best talents is finding the talent to do his movies and play the parts he has for them. I think this is another home run for him. he shot so many holes in the 50 Shades of Grey thing and I loved it. (That mess needs to lose the woman no charisma) Anyway, you know this is not for the kids at all. But come on, you know you want to watch it.

Donnie Yen At His Best

We come to the third film in the Donnie Yen Ip Man Trilogy, It has a much stronger story then the second, with multiple simultaneous plot lines,
Yet offers good pacing, and some fights that rival, and even surpass some from the second AND first films!
However there are some odd choices in direction, and it seems like some content is not needed, it's still overall a great film.
While I'm not ready to say it's better then the first, it's still fairly close, and even though mike Tyson seems like an odd choice, they make it work,
And by the end you'll understand why he was chosen.
Yet offers good pacing, and some fights that rival, and even surpass some from the second AND first films!
However there are some odd choices in direction, and it seems like some content is not needed, it's still overall a great film.

One Of The Best in 2016

Simply put, The Revenant is a masterpiece. Cinematographer Emmanuel Lubezki (Gravity, Birdman) succeeded, once again, in creating a beautiful work of art. In my humble opinion, I believe he deserves his third Academy Award in a row.
The Revenant has been largely promoted as a revenge tale. However, it's more than just a revenge tale. It's a story about a father's love for his son, and his determination, through many intense hardships, to bring justice to his son's killer. It's not a happy tale, but it's still full of beauty. It certainly would not have had the same effect without the captivating performances of both Leonardo DiCaprio and Tom Hardy.

I really had a great time watching this film! It's not perfect obviously, it does have a fair amount of flaws in it but if you're a fan of the book or of the films you are going to enjoy this film! For book fans, it is very different from the book towards the middle of the film but ITS OKAY because it works for the film.
