This movie is loosely based on the book, seems loyal fans of the book didn't seem to care for the way the director took liberties with the original story. But I came upon the movie first, and think it stands strongly on its own merits, its a real cohesive flick that stands well enough on its own. It includes an interesting cast, with strong performances by all. It's well edited at a good pace to keep one interested. So both thumbs up from me, Tim's back with a really good effort.

Classic 70's horror, bad yes, but in a good way

This is truly a great, (in a campy way), bad horror movie from the 70's. Michael, our hero, slams a door on the hand of a tall dark figure who chases him. He slices off the tall mans fingers. and the hand spurts out yellow blood. He takes one of the severed fingers home, sticks it in a box. The next day, the box starts moving around, it seems the finger is alive. Michael explains this to his older brother, Jody, but his brother doesn't believe him, so Jody opens the box to show him. Inside is the severed finger squirming around in a pool of blood. Jody, closes the box with a casual, Oh. A flying stainless steel sphere with sharp hooks chases them around, as they investigate inside the funeral home and encounter the tall dark man, it goes, like that, until our hero's join forces and figure out how to stop the tall dark man who's ire they have raised who is now stalking them all.

Season two starts off at closing time, late at night in an empty mall at a Cinnabon store in Omaha, NE. were the manager "Gene" helps close up for the night. He is clearly our hero Saul Goodman, now a fugitive hiding out under a false ID. The season premier takes off from their, and you get the back story of what has led us to this point, and why he is hiding out with a false identity. The casual daily relationship between Mike and Saul starts and grows into professional one. Mike brokers a deal and Jimmy works to exonerate a client. Jimmy's client outreach efforts are a success and thrive, as he exhibits new heights of showmanship to further his business. Mike is perplexed by is daughter-in-law's troubles, and tries to help her and his grand daughter's financial situation. Jimmy and Kim's relationship grow as she tries to help him with a new job. But Kim frustratingly reminds Jimmy that she went out on a limb to get him this new job and that his actions reflect badly back on her. Jimmy's actions create more waves for Kim. And Mike is cautiously weighing a lucrative proposal that brings about unexpected consequences. Jimmy becomes frustrated with his restrictive job and his relationships at work. Kim attempts to pull herself out of a seemingly thankless hole at her job at HHM. The second season gets more and more into these working and personal relationships and it ends with Jimmy finding comfort in a familiar place. And Kim is offered a life-changing proposal. While Mike finds himself pushed to the limit as his family is threatened.

The cast is great, and it seems the script is loosely based on the original film. But its not all their, I think some of the jokes fall a little flat, seems they could use a good joke writer to punch them up. I do like the actors and the characters are good too. But I think these writers let them down here. But it's not all bad either, its just not as funny as the original film. Which was a magic combination of great acting, original story, and was set in the great back drop of NYC back in the 80's.
I liked it, but the original movie, I loved it! That's always the problem with doing a sequel.

Don't really understand the underlying reasons of this storyline. It seems very contrived just to lead us into this ultimate superhero battle. Some character backstory in the film, but little else that leads us to a more complete understanding of why we have a riff between these two superheroes. The Lex Luther connection seems to be driving the riff, but its not very much fleshed out for the viewers to grab onto, and we are left with only the spectacle of this epic clash between these two titans.

Not much to this movies plot, so if you know the app, you'll will be familiar with the general plot of the movie . The movie just adds to the individual characters, but there is not much more to the films story that adds anything that would keep you interested for an hour and a half.
