With new mixes of Matilda Mother (2010 Mix) and Jugband Blues (2010 Mix) , a BBC live cut Flaming a (Live Radio Session 25 from September 1967) a new mix of In The Beechwoods (2010 Mix), the classic Careful With That Axe Eugene (the Single Version) , and the ultra rare Embryo (From "Picnic" Harvest Records Sampler)
even a US radio add featuring Ummagumma and more. Add to the mix Grantchester Meadows (from Live BBC Radio Session 12 May 1969) and Cymbaline (Live BBC Radio Session 12 May 1969) . So all in all a document that samples the early history of the band, well recorded for its time.

War film bout peace, and a different kind of hero

This war film is based on the true story of Desmond Doss, a pacifist who enlisted in World War II. He refused to carry a weapon, or kill the enemy. Doss' father is an abusive alcoholic and is one aspect of his reason to embrace nonviolence. He prefers saving the wounded men and chooses to become a medic. The graphic violence of battle, and man's inhumanity during war is portrayed in horrifying detail. But even before any battles, Doss is abused and beaten by his fellow soldiers during basic training, because he refused to carry a weapon. His superior officers try jailing him and even put him on trial for his refusal to carry a weapon. Fine acting all around.

It starts in modern New York City, Dr. Strange is a highly respected surgeon. A two disc nostalgic trip back to the early 60's, disc one is the first commercial effort and it kicked off the Dead's musical career, it literally started a universal movement that has shaped the music of a whole generation. But the reason to buy it again is new stuff is on disc 2, a live effort from the 60's, one historic concert that is not to be missed by any true Dead fan. So even if you owned the original release, buy this new one just for the live stuff and the sound is great too.

Arrival is a Si Fi treat for the eyes and ears

The first human contact and interaction with aliens from another universe, or is it? As the storyline unfolds and we discover that things are not exactly what they seem to be, its like a callback to those great old 50's and 60's Si Fi black and white movies, where the government tries to control contact with the alien creatures but its the humanity of a single person that really prevails and gets the job done.
The movie tells the story of both, humanities emotional limitations and the frustrations of humans abilities to verbally communicate with the newly discovered aliens. Both of these human limitations to communicate are explored in this films storyline on different levels. It ultimately exposes the future of both of the primary human characters in an unexpected way. So its this films human touch, or should I say its "humanity" that makes the movie both an entertaining Si Fi story being told and one that rings true in a more universal Si Fi fashion. It does not loose track of its humanity. Very entertaining on may different levels, a stark visual landscape and a deep psychological human drama as well.
