Fantastic done Remaster down Nostalgia Lane

Kids and those of us young enough to remember THIS Jumanji film when it was new don't so much see the flaws or age in the visual effects or anything like that. We just remember this absolute blast of ride that mixed two things we loved form those days - the book Jumanji and Robin Williams!
This UHD looks just great, Sony if nothing else has the BEST back catalogue remaster and restoration department in the business, and once again deliver. The image is filmic and organic in movement, and yes the visual effects at times are dated, but this film hasn't ever looked this good. To top it off? The audio is now in Dolby Atmos and if you're set up for it - it ROCKS.
This is the steelbook edition which is pretty rad, a nice embossed take off of the Jumanji board game design.

Game Changing Brilliance.

Twin Peaks changed the game in the early 90's, and it's done it again. Reminding folks just what the so called "peak era" TV can mean. If you're hoping for just a nostalgia rush and reminders of why you loved the original show - ala so many reboots and retreads of recent years - well you'll probably be disappointed. This is David Lynch's vision on heroin, and it's a real rush despite being occasionally self indulgent.
The blu-ray looks and sounds PHENOMENAL. I was so disappointed with how much compression noise and how muddy the audio was thru the Showtime stream, that's not a problem here. Crystal clear, beautiful images, and a 96khz/24 bit 5.1 audio mix (Lynch himself was the sound designer, as he often is) and it has so much fidelity and depth. The bonus material? Outstanding! Hours of footage that just lets you watch Lynch and his cast/crew do their thing, so much fun.

This game is a lot of fun, and if you're a fan of those old 70-80's horror era slashers, well you'll get even more mileage out of the game. It's basically hide and seek where one character doesn't just seek, he kills.
The game can be tense and scary, and benefits from the fun and thrills you'll get trying to work with other players online - then choosing the right moment to ditch them because hey, it means your life! My only complaint is as fun as it is to be Jason, he's almost TOO powerful at times. But it just makes it that more of a rush when you get to escape - or come oh so close.
The game's servers and some other elements have been a bit buggy - this was a crowd sourced game without the benefit of a big company backing it - but they've done a great job of continually smoothing out issues, and adding new content.

It seems like everytime Nintendo goes all in to create a new Mario game, they hit it out of the park. Consistently creating a Mario game that is all the same we've seen and played before, yet making it so fresh and new to play we can't help but rack up the hours going through.
Speaking of, this is a great bang for buck game, as even when the main story is done, you realize how much more you have to play!

I've been playing the Wolfenstein and Doom games since the days I had the originals on my Atari Jaguar. The new generation on the PS4 are some of the smoothest, most entertaining and fast paced games you can find in the first person shooter genre.
The stories and characters are fun - it's not only unique to experience this dark world where the "German party at the time" (BB won't let me use the actual term) won WWII, but it's even MORE fun to shoot up the "German party at the time" - and there's a lot of nice twists, while keeping the game consistently moving forward. I'd recommend this to anyone who wants a shooter that runs smooth, and is a blast to play.

I have two Sony UHD players, and got this LG for my parents. The OS on both the Sony and LG's are pretty archaic, and you feel that "this is the first in a new tech generation" kinda feel with them both. The LG has some different options and settings than the Sony, and doesn't have the screaming capabilities the Sony has. It's a nice enough machine that gets the job done, but if I had to choose? I'd pick the Sony.

Great Edition of Unconventional Christmas Film

There are more horror titles set during the Yuletide season than one might expect, and that can be a fun way to detox occasionally from the more cheesy or cheery family friendly ones. While This film won't touch BLACK CHRISTMAS or CHRISTMAS EVIL as the top of the mountain in this regard, it's still a fun, often cheesy (good cheese) sleigh ride to take during the season.
Shout/Scream Factory have gone all out with wonderful new scan of the film, which despite it's low budget, looks fantastically filmic, as well as a wealth of new bonus material.

Family fun for that Christmas time season...

At this point the first Santa Clause is pretty much well regarded as a Christmas season classic. It is funny and charming and unique even if it's responsible for teaching an entire generation the wrong spelling of the word (for the irony of the in film storyline gag) and that if you kill Santa maybe you get to become him. The sequels get subsequently worse, but that doesn't change the fact there's a magic and charm to them that kids will love and families can vicariously live through.
The blu-ray's aren't going to break any records for quality of picture, sound or bonus material, but they all do a serviceable job in giving this series the best looking and sounding editions we've yet to get.

While Game of Thrones is currently must see TV, and I own all the seasons (blu-ray still crushes cable, satellite and streaming when it comes to quality due to compression) but HBO's prime for me was a decade plus back, the years of the Sopranos, Rome, The Wire and my favorite - Deadwood.
The blu-ray looks and sounds just phenomenal. It's filmic, dark and gritty when it needs to be, and bright and antique looking almost at other places. The sound is uncompressed and well mixed, and there's a nice bundle of bonus material featured for those interested in diving in deeper. One of the most interesting (and disheartening) bonus features is creator David Milch walking around the amazing set that was used to film Deadwood, talking about where he would have liked to take the next seasons and where characters might have gone.
