This multi-disc release contains several episodes of The Last Kingdom, the fascinating re-telling of King Alfred the Great's mission to united several kingdoms into what would become England.
This would probably be a more enjoyable series if you had not read all of Bernard Cornwell's books. As an adaptation it falls short. There are some positives, but the source material that the writers had (to use) was so good and they produced a C version of that material.
Not half as good as the animated version. Entertaining, but lacking the umph that the cartoon had. Emily Watson is not the greatest singer and it shows through the film.
This hard hitting release from the historical drama series Vikings includes all 10 episodes of the show's second season, following the dramatic adventures of Medieval Scandinavian warriors.
The first season of Vikings follows the warrior Ragnar as he explores distant and dangerous lands while hoping to pursue his destiny as a Viking chieftan, despite the forces at home who are determined to conspire against him.
The eight movie in the franchise is one of the best. The original Star Wars was a nice movie, Empire Strikes Back was excellent, Return of the Jedi was cheesy. The following three were three of the worse movies in history. The JJ Abrams movie was a joke - so this was a good addition to bring back the feel of the Empire Strikes Back.
Alien is one of the greatest science fiction horror movies of all time - and Ridley Scott has been living off of that hype for years. Prometheus was his returned to science fiction and I was hoping that he would have some of that quality that he had shown in Alien and in Blade Runner - but this movie is a mess. Loaded with terrible acting, a dreadful and ridiculous script and dumb science fiction cliches - it is a waste of time.
