I love this Chromebook

I have always been a fan of Chromebooks. I think the majority of people who buy laptops overestimate their needs and buy really powerful machines that cost alot of money. If you're like me, just an average person, then you use a laptop for media consumption, note-taking (in school), basic apps, internet browsing, then a Chromebook is perfect for you! This specific Acer Chromebook 15 is definitely one to consider.
It is very user friendly! All you need is an email address and you're ready to go! It powers up quickly and easy to set up. The first thing that you will notice is the screen. It is beautiful! It is 1080p Full HD and it is great! Great viewing angles. It can get bright. I didn't have a problem using it in sunlight. The 15 inch screen is so good! I've always had a 13 inch laptop or smaller so having the extra real estate is a new world. It's also touchscreen if you're into that.
The build quality is excellent for the price. There isn't alot of screen flex or keyboard flex. The laptop is mostly constructed of aluminum so it is definitely durable stuff. It sort of looks like what a 15 inch Macbook Air would have looked like with the positioning of the speakers next to the keyboard and all. The speakers are nice! Great for media consumption. They fire upwards so just that alone makes it better than alot of other laptops. The quality isn't great but not bad. For a sub-400 laptop, it does the job remarkably well. It's fanless so it doesn't get loud. I have found that it doesn't get too hot.
The keyboard is great! I have to type alot and this keyboard is really comfortable. I can type accurately and comfortable. It is also backlit! That seems to be standard these days but sometimes manufacturers can take that feature out to keep price down or battery life up. The trackpad is not bad but definitely not great. It's definitely not glass. It does feel cheap when tapping to click. Tracking is smooth enough but it's not amazing.
The battery life is GREAT. It advertises up to 12 hours and I don't know if it's been that high but I have easily been getting 10 hours and that is with heavy usage and screen brightness medium high. Probably could get 12 with screen brightness down.
Chromebooks have recently started to have Google Play Store available. The Acer Chromebook 15 is one of them! Having Android apps available is really nice, because the Chrome Web Store honestly did not have that great of a selection. It's even better for students now that we can use Microsoft Office, albeit they are reduced function versions. However, now that Chromebooks are using the Play Store, developers are making apps more optimized for usage on Chromebooks including Microsoft. Admittedly, Android apps can be a little funky still. Office Word can be a bit glitchy on the Chromebook. Powerpoint is a bit annoying to use and Outlook just isn't functional. But things will get better and I'm excited to see where developers go since more and more people are buying these.
It's powered by an Intel Pentium processor which is more than powerful enough to do it's job. There can be slight hiccups if you have alot of tabs open but it's run smooth for me. It has 2 USB C ports, 2 USB 3.0 ports, a mini SD card slot, and, most importantly, a headphone jack. The lack of HDMI can be a bummer since you need to buy an adapter but we just gotta get used to a world moving to a one port solution.
All in all, I would highly recommend the Acer Chromebook 15. It has mainly become my daily driver, outside of things that require a Windows or Mac. There are definitely cheaper Chromebooks that are good quality out there, but, if you want a good large screen with a solid build quality, this one is worth a look!

Good solid VR for not so bad price

I have been interested in VR for a while so I was happy to try out this VR headset. These don't look all too bad and don't look cheap. They're made of foam and are pretty durable, at least during the time that I have used it so far. Only time will tell if it holds up. I used an iPhone 6s Plus and it was a little too big to fit in the slot. You can jam it in and it will still work. However, I'm uncertain if the foam will hold up through the years. Other phones work fine. Android phones and the smaller iPhones definitely seem to have a easier time fitting.
I had trouble finding apps that I liked, but this is more me not being able to find something that fit my personal preference. I think VR apps are already pretty limited so hopefully some more creative ones will get released.
The headset is very comfortable. I wear glasses and it still fit comfortable on my face. I wish the lens could adjust a bit further because there is a tiny bit of double vision. Using this headset for 360 videos is great. It really is different from just using your smartphone and moving it around. It does create an immersive experience.
Merge has something called the Merge cube that goes with it. Alot of their apps take advantage of it. It's a foam cube that costs around $15. It was interesting to play around with but I wasn't entirely sold on its usefulness.
All in all, this headset is a solid VR for the price. It's not as cheap as the Google Cardboard but it's not just a piece of cardboard with lens. It's a good cheaper alternative to the other more pricey ones. It's fun for kids and I think if you want to get into the world of VR without breaking the bank, the Merge headset is a good choice.

Nice projector for its purpose

First, I think people should know that this is NOT a Home Theater projector. Its purpose is not for projecting TV and movies. The settings for home cinema projectors are different in regards to brightness, contrast, etc. This projector is for business purposes. Now that that is established, this projector is good at what it does.
Pros:
- It is really bright! Even in a room with a lot of sunlight, this projector did a good job of being bright enough.

- It is easy to set up. You plug in the power cord. You plug in an HDMI cable (which is not included but they're common enough) or the VGA that is given and you're ready to go! It's easy to adjust the picture size, angle, and whatnot!
- For a projector its not too heavy. So it can be portable so perfect for business needs if you need to travel around. However, there is no travel bag or case included.
- It projects powerpoints, excel files, word documents fine!
- Despite not being a home cinema projector, it does have a home cinema setting. It handled movies fine! It was not great but definitely better than what I thought.
Cons:
- It's pretty pricey for it just being a "business" purpose projector. There are definitely other budget projectors out there, but you are paying a premium for an Epson projector.

- The speakers do get loud which is great I guess, but the sound quality is not that great. I didn't really know how to classify this, since sound coming from the projector is a plus. Nobody is going to be buying this projector for its sound profile.

A bluetooth trackball that's worth it

I have to say. I don't usually use trackballs. They don't feel natural in the hand, but Logitech did an amazing job with this one.
This trackball feels great in the hand. The form factor may be awkward to some people, but I honestly thought that is what separated it from the others. With the use of a metal magnetic piece that functions as an hinge, you can tilt the mouse 20 degrees. Add the wedge in for another 10 degree tilt for a 30 degree tilt. I personally felt the 20 degrees felt more natural, but to each their own. The tilt feels really good and stable. I don't foresee any accidental tilts. I really like the 20 degree tilt, but you can definitely just stick with zero tilt.
The metal magnetic piece makes the mouse a bit heavier, but I personally liked having a little more heft to keep it stationary. You can do without the metal piece, but it feels really light, cheap, and unstable. It doesn't stay in the tilted position all too well so definitely need that metal piece.
The bluetooth function is great. You can switch between 2 devices. For me, I have a desktop and a Macbook Pro so it's great that I can switch between them. Also, given that the new Macbooks don't have USB-A ports, it allows me to use an actual mouse without the use of an adapter.
The scroll is amazing. I find it to be really smooth. The trackball is really smooth as you would expect from a good mouse.
It is a rechargeable battery, which is great. I don't need to keep buying batteries to power the thing.
There are some critiques that I have:
I didn't really find a use for what they called "precision" mode. Which is when you press the button to allow for finer control. Other people may find a use for it although a layperson like me did fine without it.

I think this is a problem with alot of Logitech products, but I really get annoyed when there is no spot to hold the unifying receivers. I have lost so many of them. Granted, I mainly use this as a bluetooth mouse so it wasn't too much of a bother.
All in all, great comfortable mouse that is my daily driver.

I absolutely love this vacuum cleaner. It really does suck up a lot of dirt. I also have a dog in my house who sheds like there is no tomorrow. You really do not realize how much hair, dirt, and dust there is until you have a great vacuum cleaner. This is that vacuum cleaner. It pulls up so much!
It's wireless. No messy cords to get tangled up in. No need to unplug and plug when you move from room to room. What's great is I can even detach it to turn it into a handvac and I can use it to clean windows, shelves, and other hard to reach places. I even used it to vacuum up my car!
It's very quiet. I have tried and used alot of wireless vacuums. This definitely is one of the quietest I've used despite probably being the most powerful. You don't have to scream to communicate with people while vacuuming so that is always a plus when doing Saturday morning cleanings with the family.
You can bend it so as to reach under couches and beds and what not. This function is really useful. I honestly thought it would just be a gimmick that I would not find myself using that much, but man is it a lifesaver.
Two lithium ion batteries. They last for a fair bit of time, but only time will tell if the charge stays the same. Having two batteries definitely makes these a whole lot easier. Battery life is my biggest gripe with wireless vacuum cleaners but the two batteries definitely make it a little easier.
All in all, I really like this vacuum and hope it holds up for a while!

I love this remote. I'm pretty skeptical of universal remotes. My experience with them hasn't been great. Setup is usually a pain and/or they just do not work. The Logitech Harmony 665 is amazing. I was not looking forward to setting it up but it was so easy. As long as you have the model number, it has the machine in its database. It even works for my old VCR! In addition, some of my devices have no remotes because they were broken sometime in the past. The Logitech Harmony basically functioned as a replacement remote for me. So everything from one remote. All in all, extremely happy with it.

It works as a GPS. That's for sure. For anyone who has used Garmin before, the OS hasn't changed at all. The interface is the same. Very smooth experience though. It feels like a smart phone now.
The added function of being a camera though is a lifesaver. I wish I would have had it when I got into an accident and they sided with the other guy. It's pricey but it works well. The voice command isn't very good so i wouldn't use it. It also works with a Garmin add on backup camera so that's an added plus.

I was spoiled by the backup camera in my previous vehicle. It provides an extra piece of mind that you are not going to rear end someone in the parking lot. In my current vehicle, there is no backup camera. So when I found this and learned that I could have one, I immediately got it. It works beautifully. It sometimes does not activate which I believe might have to do with overheating on a really hot day. Obviously not necessary but it definitely gives you an extra peace of mind.
