I thought this was an average movie... With Jordan Peele I can see how it started as a comedy idea and spooled up to a horror/thriller. I think this is a bit over-rated on this site.
I thought "The Great Wall" was OK. It certainly had some great visuals, but that was the main strongpoint. Nothing new in concepts/ideas so the content felt really familiar.
I thought with all the big names in the cast that the movie would have been better, but to me that only bumps it up to 2.5 stars (I guess they need to pay the bills too!!!). I thought the plot/storyline was pretty weak in this movie, which is what dragged it down. Look for it on sale if you're adding to your movie collection, or as a rental if you want just to view it.
I was expecting not to like this one, especially after seeing "The Accountant." However, I didn't think it was to bad and nudged it up to 4-stars. Nothing trailblazing here, but I did enjoy the performances and the story was alright too.
Denzel Washington directed and stars in this adaptation of August Wilson's Pulitzer Prize-winning play, which centers on a black garbage collector named Troy Maxson in 1950s Pittsburgh. Bitter that baseball's color barrier was only broken after his own heyday in the N e g r o Leagues, Both Washington and co-star Viola Davis won Tonys for their performances in the 2010 revival of the play.
The Expanse's second season offers more of the show's excellent signature production values while increasing character development and politically thrilling narratives.
This probably would have been named better as "Jason Bourne: The Redundancy." The use of a more modern/current background theme -data privacy/data hacking- was, well, it was done like a bad hack
This doesn't hold up well against the early films, and left me questioning if I could get those 2-hours back!!! Sometimes ya just gotta' know when to let it go and do the right thing and not just bang out a flick 'cause the money is good.
I found this movie to be pretty lame and not much to praise here. The look and effects are the standouts, other than that it is mediocre at best... but I guess that's all you can expect from an adaption of computer game that didn't really seem that compelling (IMHO) to begin with.
