EA9300 Delivers Blazing Speed, Amazing Performance

The Linksys EA9300 Max-Stream AC4000 Tri-Band Wi-Fi Router is a Top-Of-The-Line Performer!
CHALLENGE: 5,000 Sq feet home, over 3 floors. Highest Wireless speed requirements are on the extreme opposite ends of the house on the main floor.
CHALLENGE 2: WIRELESS CONNECTED DEVICES: 95, including 13) connected BAS Fans & lights, 2) HUE hubs (they are limited to 50 devices / hub), Wink Hub, 4) Nest Cams & 5) Arlo Pro cams, 2) Honeywell connected T-Stats, 18) Airplay speakers, 12) iDevices & many more streaming WiFi devices.
TEST RESULTS: This EA9300 produces Wireless Speeds at the limit of my Cable Service Provider (300 mB/sec) within 30 feet of the router with my iPad Pro! This is by far the fastest speed I have tested to date on any router to a wireless device. Moving another 20 feet away and the speed reduces the speed by approximately 10%. The router delivers very good speed at the extreme end of the house, through several walls & rooms, falling off an additional 25%. This is a blazing speed, considering the distance & the rooms between.
OBSERVATIONS: The improvement in speed of this EA9300, primarily due to the 2) 5Ghz bands + 1) 2.4Ghz band & MU-MIMO design, compared with competitive MU-MIMO routers from every brand I could find, is stunning. All devices work with NO Drop-Outs! This Trip-Band Router is a keeper!
FINAL SET-UP: In the end, I kept 2) of my old Dual Band Routers & switched them to Bridge Mode, one at the opposite end of this Router & one in the basement. This is not necessary, but since I already own them, why not? I already had Ethernet run there via Cat 6 cable, so it was a simple plug-in connection. Results? 290 - 300Gb/Sec virtually everywhere, with NO devices dropping out even once.
CONCLUSION: I give the Linksys EA9300 Max-Stream AC4000 Tri-Band WI-FI Router my HIGHEST RECOMMENDATION!!

This Oral-B Pro 6000 electric toothbrush with Bluetooth allows the brush to connect with your smartphone to give you real-time feedback on your brushing habits. The advanced design of the CrossAction toothbrush head surrounds each tooth with bristles angled at 16 degrees, and 3D cleaning action oscillates, rotates, and pulsates to break up and remove more plaque. This Oral-B Pro 6000 Connected Toothbrush is one of the latest & greatest among the "Top-Of-The-Line" Bluetooth connected toothbrushes. I also own last year's high-end Oral-B BRAUN D36 7000 Smart Series & will contrast it during this review.
LIKES:
1- Luxurious, Precision Top-Of-The-Line Feel, Perfectly Balanced Precision Tool
2- Rubber anti-slip handle is better placed than previous top-of-the-line D36 7000 Smart Series
3- Bright LED light at the handle flashes bright RED if you apply too much pressure to the brush & the pulsations stop! This protects your gums from getting sore by rubbing too hard. The red light on the 7000 Series was barely noticeable unless you saw it in the mirror. You can't miss this one!
4- Choice of alerts from "Professional" to "2 minute" timer. "Pro" is default & is my favorite: 4) 30 second pulses, rather than 1) 2-minute pulse. This suggests the left / right / upper / lower quadrant brushing time.
5- Internal battery is Li-ion. This internal battery is much lighter weight, charges faster, lasts longer & is far superior to the older Ni-Mh battery on all models within the past 3 years. Prior to that, Ni-Cd was used, which had memory issues.
6- This is the lightest handle to date, primarily due to the lighter weight battery referenced in point # 5. It feels much lighter than the 7000 Series.
7- The brush action feels more powerful than the 7000 Series, again, most likely due to the superior battery.
8- Bluetooth connection is instantaneous to your smart phone, regardless of brand. See Bluetooth Advantages at the bottom of this review.
9- The separate remote monitor that was included with the 7000 Series & older high-end Oral-B toothbrushes works with this new Pro 6000! I seldom take my iPhone into the Bathroom while brushing my teeth, so I love the little wall mounted display. I am thrilled that it automatically connects to this new toothbrush!
10- Bluetooth data can be downloaded later. About once every other week, I connect to my iPhone & download my toothbrushing detail. Just open the app & press the small button on the toothbrush. In less than 10 seconds, all data is transferred from your past 28 or so brushes!

Polk Delivers an Over Achiever in a Petite Package

I favor Polk Audio sound & build quality since their start in 1972. Surprised that Polk Audio introduced a portable Bluetooth speaker, I jumped at the chance to grab one - especially at the very attractive price point & bright color (Sport Blue).
Set-up is the easiest of any Bluetooth speaker I have connected. Simply press & hold + & - buttons for 2 seconds & go to your phone or tablet. Open Settings / Bluetooth / Select "Connect". Done.
Sound quality is amazing, clear & LOUD! This is a TINY, unobtrusive speaker with BIG SOUND! Clip it to your T-shirt collar & you are good to go (see photo).
Increase / decrease volume by pressing + or -. Change music by holding + or - for 2 seconds. It is very intuitive; adjust volume / select a song once or twice and it comes naturally. The + & - buttons are raised, and you feel them without searching.
Power on / off by holding + & - together for 2 seconds. It makes a cool "Bonk!" sound to identify power on / off. Bluetooth pairing is automatic with on activation. No fuss.
The Li-ion battery lasted 3 Hr. 15 minutes playing loud, beating the claimed 3 Hour battery life.
USB charging with a snug fitting rubber cover to protect it from the elements. Rubberized case protects from drops. Power is rated at 1.5 Watts output! That is amazing for a speaker the size of a Key Fob. Believe it! It plays LOUD!
Telephone conversations are clear and easy to understand. Answer the phone: 2 second hold (+ Button). Hang Up Phone: 2 Second hold (- Button).
CONCLUSION: The Polk Bit is an amazing piece of technology condensed in a beautiful, lightweight, colorful & tiny package. It is "Just Right". Polk hit another Home Run! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND BIT!!

3- Adds solidity to the Revolve & Revolve + on your desk, due to the semi circle, rigid base, locking design.
4- Keeps the Revolve or Revolve + oriented in the precise direction for best microphone positioning. This makes phone calls clear & consistent. It achieves this clarity by the aforementioned semi circle, rigid base design that locks into the unit & eliminates rotation, keeping the microphone in the same location every time.
5- By offering the Charging Cradle as a separate purchase, the user can choose to add additional Cradles: i.e. keep one at work, one at home, one on the patio, etc.

Dyson V8: The Undisputed Handheld Vacuum CHAMPION!

REFERENCE FOR EVALUATION:
The Dyson V8 Animal Cord-free Vacuum wields higher suction power than some plug-in upright vacuums: 115AW (Air Watts, the measurement of suction power). I own 4) of the Dyson previous top handheld model, the V6 Absolute (100AW) & 3) Dyson Cinetic Big Ball Animal+Allergy upright vacuums (180AW). I picked up a V8 Animal to replace one of the older V6 Absolute vacuums (we are a multi-cat household & have a very messy bird).
COMPARING THE V8 ANIMAL TO THE V6:
1- The V8 Animal has a larger 0.14 gallon Dust / Dirt Bin than the 0.11 gallon bin on the V6 - a very welcome improvement!
2- The V8 is much quieter & has a "mellow" sound, compared with the older noisy / "raspy" sounding V6 (the V6 sound didn't bother me until I heard the V8 - WOW!! The sound is reduced approximately 50%).
3- The V8 trigger is a new soft touch design - it is easier & is super smooth - light years ahead of the V6 trigger.
4- The release button on the V8 tools is an amazing soft push with a positive click, now located on the tool end; on V6 & earlier models, the silver release buttons were very stiff & difficult to lock in positively. They were on the vacuum end (opposite of the V8). So tools are NOT interchangeable between the V8 & the V6 or older model.
5- The V8 beater bar is MUCH more powerful than the V6! The nameplate on the pick-up tool specifies a 50 Watt Beater Bar Motor vs. a 20 Watt Beater Bar Motor on the beater bar on the V6!
6- Dumping the bin is radically different on the V8, too. Simply lift the red finger pull on top of the machine & the entire bin raises & the bottom opens up! You never touch the dirt. The older V6 required you to touch the dirt bin. Great sanitary improvement. Dyson calls it a "hygienic dirt ejector".
7- The V8 has 3) blue LED's that indicate battery & charging status, unlike the single LED on the V6.
8- Despite the slightly heavier 5.75 pound weight over the 5 pound V6, both vacuums feel perfectly balanced & comfortable handling at any angle.
9- The V8 includes a greatly improved battery & provides a 40 minute run time. This is a tremendous advantage over the 20 minute runtime of the V6! This longer battery life is even more amazing, considering the even more powerful motor: V8 motor runs at 425 Watts, compared to the V6, which runs at 350 Watts.
10- The wall mounting bracket is necessarily slightly wider to accommodate the slightly larger V8, compared with the smaller V6. Thankfully, the mounting centers for the 2) holes remains 5" OC, co I simply unscrewed the V6 wall bracket & screwed the new V8 wall mounting bracket into the same holes in my wall.

FUTURE DESIGN IDEAS:
So, what could Dyson change to make the V8 even better? That is a tough question.
Only one suggestion: Make the fixed battery pack removable so you could purchase & keep a spare battery pack charged. You could charge each pack, one at a time in the vacuum handle, or Dyson could add a snap-in compartment on the wall bracket that would allow charging both the V8 & the spare battery pack simultaneously... This may sound extreme, considering the V8 features a 40 minute run time, but I operate it on Maximum all of the time. Using motorized power heads, expect 7-8 minutes of operation in Maximum mode.

If you have any hard floors, such as hardwood / ceramic time / vinyl, you will be better served buying the Dyson V8 Absolute, as it also includes the soft roller head designed for hard surfaces. Both V8's include the powerful beater bar tool for carpeting, a Mini Motorized Tool - handy for stairs. Both include a dusting brush - great for computer keyboards & a narrow crevice tool. Dyson sells the optional soft roller head for $111.99 - I just ordered one to add to my V8 Animal. It is not listed yet - you have to order it through chat.
CONCLUSION:
Dyson continues to perfect an already excellent product! Owning 4) impressive V6 vacuums, I did not see how they could improve that design... until now.
The V8 changes are not just evolutionary - they are REVOLUTIONARY!! 2X battery life, more suction, more motor power, more beater bar power, soft trigger, softer & more positive tool release buttons, battery / charge indicator, with half the noise! The Dyson V8 is the Undisputed Handheld Vacuum CHAMPION!

Solution to Cable Sticking Out the Side of an HDTV

AudioQuest 90 degree HDMI Adaptors eliminate the cable sticking out of the side of an HDTV by redirecting it to a right angle. Just be aware there are 2 models: Narrow and Wide. Study your TV or device to see which you need. I use 2 or 3 of these adaptors end to end to point the cable 180 or 270 degrees from the direction it started - and a clean look to the side & behind the TV!

The Arlo Pro Cameras far exceed my expectations! I was at first turned off by the 720P, having 4) DropCam Pro 1080P cameras in my home already. But the Arlo Pro resolution is comparable to the 1080P cams & offers these benefits:

2- cloud monitoring is free up to 5) cameras,
3- they are completely portable,
4- their own hub produces a much more robust connection than WiFi Cameras,
5- the auto IR works perfectly,
6- there are silicon skins to protect the exterior & convert to black

Google Home offers a more in depth internet research capability, as you would expect, with the Google Search Engine Access. Here is a summary of Pro's & Con's that I observed:
Google Home Pro's:
1- In depth internet search
2- Accessory color scheme available to customize appearance
3- Closest Google Home answers, unlike Amazon Echo, where ALL devices answer that hear you from various rooms
4- Cost advantage. Google Home has a lower price point than Amazon Echo. Cannot compare with Amazon Dot, as it does not have the powerful internal amp & speakers
5- Google Home is more interactive; after answering a question, if you ask a related question, Google Home can continue as though in a conversation
6- Google Account integration is a distinct advantage

If this device has no battery backup, why are batteries included in the shipping? I don't want to be awakened disputing the night because the battery needs changing. I have a 24 foot ceiling and can't climb up every three to six months to change them.
Both the electric plug-in and the battery model have Lithium Battery back-up. These batteries typically last 5 years. This is completely unlike the Smoke Alarms from years past, which often lasted only 3 to 6 months, as you pointed out.

What happens if internet connection is lost or wifi signal lost? Will you know if house is on fire if you are away? I specification 3G connectivity is mentioned, do I have to pay subscription?
There is no subscription - it uses your Wi-Fi. If you lose internet connection or lose Wi-Fi, you maintain full protection in your home, but will not know if your house is on fire if you are away.
