It's hilarious to think that The Haunted could do an album that's toned down and "stifled," but that's an opinion I read. With Peter Dolving, they were in full-force with their sound, but at the same time very inconsistent. Their last album with him, if anything, sounded more stifled to me. With Marco Aro (vocals), Adrian Erlandson (drums) Ola England (guitars) filling the gaps on this and their last album, and Russ Russell (Napalm Death, Dimmu Borgir, Evile) as producer, you better believe that this is The Haunted, as primitive and angry as ever.

The Black Dahlia Murder have never disappointed and have always tried to keep their music fresh rather than treading the same road some bands stick to, like instead of working with Jason Suecof and/or Mark Lewis, Joe Cincotta (Suffocation, Obituary) did vocal production and Jacob Hansen (Aborted, Volbeat, Heaven Shall Burn) did mixing/mastering. Highly recommended.
