I've played a couple of South Park games over the years, but this is the first one that's actually felt like South Park. It's only the occasional slowdown that breaks the illusion that you're playing the show.
The gameplay is very basic JRPG. Experienced players will likely be quite underwhelmed by the lack of complexity, but for fans of the show unfamiliar with the genre, it serves as a good introduction to this type of game.

The art of war may be thousands of years old, but on the battlegrounds of the future combat has become a big business. Where men and women once stood in defense of their nation the employees of Private Military Corporations (PMCs) are deployed, armed with the latest technologies and an arsenal of advanced weapons. Soldiers no longer need to specialize in any area of combat — equipped with powerful exoskeletons, they become the masters of all battlefield skills. In this new age of privatized combat, one PMC stands at the forefront of the industry, the juggernaut Atlas Corporation. Founded and led by Jonathan Irons, perhaps the most powerful man in the world, Atlas Corporation represents the evolution of modern combat. Under the oversight of Irons and men like him, the rules of warfare have been completely rewritten, and national borders change with the demands of the highest bidders. Do you have what it takes to navigate this ever-changing military landscape and answer the Call of Duty? The latest installment in the popular combat series, Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare plunges you into the combat of the future, orchestrated and fought by PMCs with the latest technology in armor, weaponry and tactics. Enter the world of Jonathan Irons — the founder and president of the world's most dominant PMC, Atlas Corporation — in a powerful performance by Academy Award-winning actor Kevin Spacey. Step onto the battlefield in a powerful exoskeleton that provides a massive force multiplier, delivers strategic freedom and enhances even the most adept soldier's abilities with optimized movement, jumping and grappling, covert cloaking abilities and biomechanics that take your strength, awareness, endurance and speed to the next level. Prepare for battle like never before with this Atlas Pro Edition, which is loaded with an arsenal of physical and digital content to equip you for this new age of warfare. Lock and load for combat with the Atlas digital content pack that includes the Bal-27 AE Assault Rifle and Atlas 45 AE Pistol, Atlas exoskeleton, helmet and player card, five bonus supply drops and a single-player exoskeleton upgrade token. Enhance your multiplayer gameplay right out of the gate with the Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare Season Pass, which features four additional, action-packed DLC map packs. Return to the fan-favorite Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare map, Pipeline, that has been re-envisioned in the Atlas Gorge bonus multiplayer map, where you're exploring and navigating the shadows of the Three Gorges Dam in central China. Make sure you're fully equipped to become a tier-one Advanced Soldier with the Atlas Corporation with the Welcome to Atlas: Advanced Soldier Manual, which provides necessary intel and historical and tactical information to boost your potential in the field and features original concept artwork from Sledgehammer Games. Store and display your copy of the game in the collectible SteelBook, and kick back with the official Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare soundtrack. The future of war is upon you — are you ready to play your part?

The setting has been moved further into the future, and you've been given some super powers with the exosuit, but really, it's still the same game you've been playing for a decade. If you've liked it in the past, you'll enjoy this game as well.

A FPS with a dash of MMO thrown in works out pretty well. While the RPG-like leveling invariable makes competitive multiplayer rather frustrating at times, Lv. 6 players going up against Lv. 18, the quest for better loot makes the game quite addictive. On the technical side, the game is very impressive without a hint of slowdown even during the the most chaotic battles. There have been a few occasions of texture pop-in, but they are very few and far between.
Where the game struggles mightily is in its story telling and world building. The generic names for every faction gives you a good idea about everything else: it’s all so generic. Despite how gorgeous the visuals are, there really isn’t anything very distinctive about them. Despite the use of wonderful actors, the dialogue is mundane exposition and eye roll-inducing portents of doom. Maybe the story will get more interesting later, but in the early stages, it serves as merely some downtime for you to catch your breath from the last firefight.

What's great about it: Solid FPS mechanics. Addictive loot gathering.
What's not so great: The story and setting are as safe and generic as you could get.

Few games can make you cry; The Last of Us is one of those. The story of Joel and Ellie's trek across a post-apocalyptic US is fraught with many dangers, much sadness, and punctuated with moments of wonder. Through the journey, it's easy to become attached to the two. That vested interest makes the need to keep them alive all the more palpable. And, keeping them alive is what you'll be doing most of the time. Utilizing under-used survival horror gameplay, you will find yourself holding your breath as you slowly sneak up on an enemy knowing that one false step could mean an army of them descending upon you, and a grotesque death for our characters. This is one of those games that, once finished, it's hard to start playing another game right away as it's impossible to measure up in comparison.
The PS4 version bumps-up the already stunning graphics and adds all the current DLC including the single-player "Left Behind" all for $50.

What's great about it: Compelling story, full-realized characters, unique survival horror gameplay, great value.
What's not so great: Slightly repetative.
