The Game is one such excursion into less substantive work, but as always, his craftsmanship elevates it. Great performances from both Douglas and Penn also make this a very solid thriller.

This is one of the greatest movies ever made. Explanations as to why would require far more space than available here. Anyone claiming to be a cinephile should have this film in their collection.
Criterion's blu-ray isn't perfect, but unless you're freeze-framing it and looking for problems, you'll very likely never see them. Watched normally, the audio/visual presentation is breathtaking.

An inexpensive charger that works

I suppose the only complaint I can think of is that it doesn't charge extremely quickly, but then, I'm not aware of any chargers that do. You sit the Wii remote on top of it, a light turns red to let you know it's working, and then turns green to let you know it's done. The battery packs hold their charge much better than the rechargeable batteries I was using. Granted, I haven't used them for very long; time will tell how well they continue to perform.

A pleasant, old-school JRPG

This is the first Atelier game I've ever played. The fact that there's no time restraints like the previous games is what allowed me to give it a chance. The game's alchemy mechanics are easy to learn, but quite in-depth. Combat, which is standard turn-based, starts out rather limited, but as the game progresses, more characters and mechanics are added to spice things up. Exploration is really the only negative as the environments aren't very large or robust.
The story is told in rather a laid-back fashion, though there is certain urgency given the main character is trying to save her village from a severe drought. Characters aren't overly fleshed-out, but most are at least more than one-note. Its E-10 rating is appropriate as there isn't really much objectionable content.

This is the fourth Frigidaire air conditioner I've bought. The positive is the same: does a great job of keeping the room cool even at low speed in very hot weather which is the most important thing it can do. But, the build quality seems lacking compared to the older models, and it makes quite a bit more rattling noises than they did as well.

Final Fantasy X is one the greatest JRPGs ever made; its sequel...exists. Rather than just doing an upscale, Square did also touched-up the character models. They also fully-orchestrated the game's soundtrack; the original soundtrack is included as well.
It would have been nice if they had made cutscenes skippable, but it's not an egregious oversight.

The blood, and blood-curdling screams, let you know right away this isn't your traditional Final Fantasy. Combat is very action-oriented, but still requires a fair amount of strategy on your part as you flip back and forth between your different characters and are forced to adapt should one fall during battle. The story, presented mostly in an effective pseudo-war history presentation, is not nearly as plot-heavy as your normal FF, and character development also takes a hit (especially since you have so many characters), but is engaging nonetheless. The last chapter takes an awkward turn, but overall, it's a very solid game.
