This is what I would consider a good basic router for today's home network environment. Most people have a half dozen items connected. The range and through put is good.

I often don't purchase top of the line product because of all the false hype. This unit is exceptional and is a great addition to make a good home network. With all of the items that are wireless now for the home, it requires a level of router used in small businesses a few years ago. I have 25+ items on at any given time. Thermostat, light switches, stream speakers, garage door opener, security DVR, Femtocell, along with laptops, smart TVs, bluray disk players, and PC's. No longer do I need to reboot the unit every day. If I do need to there is an app for that.

I have an older version of Office for Home will i lose any of the older work sheets if i install Office 365?
It is backwards compatible and will work fine. You probably will want to remove the old version of office first because on a windows machine there may be some issues with file association. Easier to let the installation fix that rather than messing around with it later.

I have speakers, monitor, keyboard, mouse that I purchased with a Dell setup in 2007. Will these peripherals work with this tower? They have not been used since 2011. I was using Windows 7 and did a lot with pictures/music, until the tower crashed.
You should be able to use most peripherals. Also there are extra SATA ports on main board that you could plug hard drive in and get your pictures and music from. They would show up on what ever drive letter it came up as, IE: x:\users\ what your profile name was\ then pictures, music, documents. You could leave them there or copy to new PC.

Will this support the movies anywhere ap ? My girls have kindles and it won't download on those. So they can't watch all the movies.
As a cable company we offer TV anywhere channels that correspond to the subscriptions our customer's have and this will allow you to log into it and I have loaded history channel, NBC and ABC ... I have not tested specifically with Movies Anywhere but researched the site and it shows android devices as well as the Kindle Fire that you suggest does not work. will word pad allow me to open and edit documents previously created in Microsoft word??

The new unit will come with new KB and mouse, keep them in the box. All the rest of your hardware will work fine. Keep in mind there are only 4 USB ports in the back but 2 more in the front. You may be able to plug the hard drive from old PC into new and get data off it under the drive letter and Users folder and your name... copy them to the new PC under the same folder name.
