Wanted to upgrade 8 year old TV in my bed room. Probably a little big but for the price, what the heck. I did not need "smart" stuff, I have Apple TV, Chrome Cast so it works great for me. What I did not expect was good sound. This may be a house brand item but picture and sound quality are great and more than one would expect in this price range.

I have purchased a number of these. Yes they cost much more than a standard tablet, but they are more user friendly than most of them. And yes there is a planned obsolescence... after so many updates... they become out of the loop and still function but do not run the latest apps. Big deal this is usually 4+ years down the road. I have been looking at a back refrigerator for a couple months. Most were in the $600 range. Came across this at $449 and they had a local store with one on the floor marked down to $300. For a Frigidaire it was a bargain, no ice maker, no frills and less to break. Works like a charm

It is backwards compatible and will work fine. You probably will want to remove the old version of office first because on a windows machine there may be some issues with file association. Easier to let the installation fix that rather than messing around with it later.

I have speakers, monitor, keyboard, mouse that I purchased with a Dell setup in 2007. Will these peripherals work with this tower? They have not been used since 2011. I was using Windows 7 and did a lot with pictures/music, until the tower crashed.
You should be able to use most peripherals. Also there are extra SATA ports on main board that you could plug hard drive in and get your pictures and music from. They would show up on what ever drive letter it came up as, IE: x:\users\ what your profile name was\ then pictures, music, documents. You could leave them there or copy to new PC.

Will this support the movies anywhere ap ? My girls have kindles and it won't download on those. So they can't watch all the movies.
As a cable company we offer TV anywhere channels that correspond to the subscriptions our customer's have and this will allow you to log into it and I have loaded history channel, NBC and ABC ... I have not tested specifically with Movies Anywhere but researched the site and it shows android devices as well as the Kindle Fire that you suggest does not work. The new unit will come with new KB and mouse, keep them in the box. All the rest of your hardware will work fine. Keep in mind there are only 4 USB ports in the back but 2 more in the front. You may be able to plug the hard drive from old PC into new and get data off it under the drive letter and Users folder and your name... copy them to the new PC under the same folder name.
