I often don't purchase top of the line product because of all the false hype. This unit is exceptional and is a great addition to make a good home network. With all of the items that are wireless now for the home, it requires a level of router used in small businesses a few years ago. I have 25+ items on at any given time. Thermostat, light switches, stream speakers, garage door opener, security DVR, Femtocell, along with laptops, smart TVs, bluray disk players, and PC's. No longer do I need to reboot the unit every day. If I do need to there is an app for that.

Really still worried about Windows XP? But cross platform to Linux, Apple and Microsoft products ... you can turn on NFS ... and map drives to all these devices. Works like a charm.

Has anybody used two or more of these 2 channel receivers and sync them all using CHROMECAST AUDIO group feature?
It does not matter what amp you have. The Chrome Cast Audio hooks up to any audio input. I have 8 of the CCA units into 8 different stereo amps, 3 of them happen to be these receivers. I use the AUX3 in the front and they work great. I can adjust volume for the different zones on each amp. Then I have whole house group, outside group, etc...

Which port does the cable coming in the back of the switch box go in or does it matter ?
Any port will do. There is no "uplink" designated on this unit. I would also assume that you could not use a cross over cable unless the device at the other end is capable.

Is this switch compatible with Cat 6 cables? It says cat 5, I just don't know if that means cat 5 or higher or cat 5 only.
I have Cat5e and Cat 6 connections on mine at home and they work fine.

Does this switch carry the PoE (Power over Ethernet) functionality? If so, what type of cable must be used for POE (Not looking for "Cat6 or Cat5e" answers, I'm talking twisted-pair or something like 568-A or related)?
PoE will pass through this switch but no it does not generate PoE (power over ethernet)

Can I take ethernet wire from my modem run it to the back of the switch then take another wire and hook my axis point to it without using ports on my route
You would want your router to be the first connection after your modem. otherwise any device you connection would be on it's own with no firewall. Also your ISP may limit the number of devices or IP's the modem gives out.
