Shooter is set up as a real tense sort of drama. It has appearances from the likes of Danny Glover, Michael Pena, Kate Mara, and others. Wahlberg shines in the lead role, tackling a serious role that mixes up severity and subtlety. We are given a movie that doesn't complicate itself nor make itself boring by shirking details.
Four Brothers is another drama of another sort. Wahlberg again stars, taking place alongside Andre Benjamin, Tyrese Gibson, and Garrett Hedlund. After they lose their adoptive parent, all four men seek to get their own brand of justice for her killers and to find out the why of it all.
Usually, the double movie packs are real great in price and content. This is no different.
Overall, you do get two great movies supported by great casts that are just right in pacing, context, perspective, and content. Definitely worth the money.

How much better can Leon get beyond what we've been given in the Extended Cut and the Steelbook for it? A 4K scan with a digital copy, of course. This movie is one of a few that have seen 4K remasters and digital copies with extras added in (I cite the Oldman 4K Trilogy: Dracula, Fifth Element, and this). If you haven't owned the movie yet on Blu-Ray, this is a good place to invest into it. It has the same extras as the previous release, in the same quality. The only benefit is it has a digital copy packed in, much better audio, and the video is a little bit better (granted it'll be a difference on a 4K display). While Fifth Element got a swath of added content for its 4K release, and Dracula also has a lot of added content thrown in (but the content in that is in 1080p while Fifth was lucky to get extra content at SD, let alone HD), Leon retains the same quality content as the prior release. With a movie like Leon, we're surely at the spot where we've gotten the greatest amount of content for it, to date. The only thing better this movie can use is perhaps a 25h Anniversary release in 2019, and get a reunion of Jean Reno (Leon), Natalie Portman (Matilda) and Gary Oldman (Stansfield) for interviews...even Danny Aiello if he's still around.
Overall, I think anyone who has yet to get the movie should look to this one. It's the best one of the lot I've found. If price is an issue, wait for a sale on it. But some movies are worth their initial asking price. This is one of them.

One of The Best Sci-Fi Movies Ever Is on 4K!

Ah, Fifth Element. A movie that remains among Luc Besson's best (including Leon: The Professional, La Femme Nikita, The Transporter, Taken, and a double whammy of Jet Li in Kiss of the Dragon and Unleashed). It's also my favorite sci-fi movie. While this review is surely skewed in its favor because of that, you have to admit that the movie has heart. We have Bruce Willis during his prime stepping into another actiony role that gravitates to saving all life, along with a pre-Resident Evil Milla Jovovich, a comically flamboyant Chris Tucker, a crazed businessman of a villain as Gary Oldman can pull off (seems off that Dracula, this, and Leon all got 4K treatments of late and they are all Gary Oldman endeavors), and we have cameos from sci-fi veterans Ian Holm of Alien, Brion James of Blade Runner, Tommy "Tiny" Lister as the strong, restrained President of Earth (Deebo from Friday, mind you!), and even Luke Perry and Lee Evans get cameos.
I owned the original Blu release of the movie and found it horrible. Exchanged it for the re-release and it was better, but had no effing extras of any note. Really, they couldn't have made such a staple Sony product in this movie? And then we get the 4K release. Which looks and sounds amazing...and the big thing is IT HAS EXTRAS. They are standard definition, but there are extras. Lots of behind the scenes stuff involving the actors, the aliens, the aesthetics, fashion and many others. You still get the trivia track from the original release, but you can spend a couple of hours watching all of the extras and admiring what work went into making the movie.
Is this the version you want to own? Well, if you're wanting to get into the 4K/UHD craze, may be best to wait since this title could get another issue. Then again, it may not. We are talking about a film nearly 20 years old now, and it's all a question of how much improvement they can accomplish beyond this (short of supplementing the extras in HD cleanup and tossing in more into a possible UHD release, which I won't be a part of for a while). Otherwise, I say get it. If you're one of those who owns the Steelbook for the movie too, get rid of that older Blu-Ray and toss the disc from this into the mix. You'll have a great collector's item in the form of a Steelbook with a substantially better copy of the movie.

A Great Adaptation (WIth Only One Flaw)

In 1992, we got this great adaptation, twisted with great performances from its cast. Gary Oldman shines here in one of his earlier and greater roles, going from scorned ancient creature to charming and mesmerizing gentleman. The special effects are a bit dated, but it is a minor thing. A lot of the movie does well for itself with its presentation in 4K, with great extras and a digital copy. The only flaw falls to Keanu Reeves pulling off an accent. It was a bit comical, but the worst of a great movie.

Good Little CD Player for the Price

Does CDs (regular and MP3s) and radio tuning just nicely. If you have any MP3s to burn to a CD, this will play them. It can get iffy with iTunes MP3s, but any other place seems to do just fine (likely cause of the copy protection Apple does on their music?). Get yourself some rechargeable batteries like Panasonic Eneloops, and you can get maybe 15-20 hours or more of use per pair (depending if you use the CD or the radio part). Overall, this is among the best you can get for the money if your work environment won't allow any music devices with USB storage.

Another Great Season of a Sleeper Hit of a Show

In short, Grimm takes a different angle on the severity and enjoyable presentation of a supernatural procedural (think Supernatural in its existence). Instead of a pair of monster hunters with a magic gun that are brothers, you have a man who is more or less a descendant of the legendary Brothers Grimm, armed with an extensive tome/book of listed monsters (known as Wesen or Wiesen, depending on its spelling in some languages) that works to police his home against the strangest creatures. It's very case-of-the-week in its presentation as always, with the occasional multi-episode arc. Overall, the show is rooted in using a lot of unknown actors that thrive well in their roles, so you never truly know who or what you're going to get (and that is a BIG sell in this show: the unexpected and the mystery). And after four seasons, it's still going pretty strong. We're already at five seasons in broadcast now, and with the show having eked out full season orders every time, this show is so close to syndication on other channels. If it does that, there's a very good chance it'll find more fans on other channels at whatever times deemed fit to air.
Overall, this show is for fans of modern supernatural or fantasy with a bit of police investigation/procedural...especially Supernatural fans.

how do I resume a Cd where I stopped?
i play books on CDs on my Insignia, purchased at Best Buy. When i stop a CD I can't figure out how to make it resume the next day at the same spot. Manual doesn't seem to address this.
I don't think you can. The player has an energy saving feature built in where it will shut itself off after a few minutes of no play. You can pause your place and try to resume it within a few minutes, but if you stop the disc or power the player off, it starts at the beginning.

In overview, it says skip protection is 248 seconds, in specifications, itsays 45 seconds. Why is that, and which will it really have?
It's hard to say. The skip protection can vary. With regular CDs, it's one way. With MP3-CDs (CDs that are burned with .mp3 files to read), it's another. MP3 CDs are just data discs with files on them. CDs are a copy protected format that are filled with specific data in a certain format (like DVDs and Blu-ray's). The skip protection likely is determined by the disc type being read, how healthy the disc is (an immaculate one versus a scratched up one), so on.
