I also have an old analog TV in my home. I purchased a digital converter box that was greatly reduced with a $40 government credit when it was announced that all analog television programming would become digital around eight years ago. That government program no longer exists, but you can still purchase a digital converter box and an antenna (I absolutely recommend Mohu). My recommendation is a Digital Stream digital converter box (RadioShack is where I got mine, try Amazon or EBAY now). Yes, it will definitely work with the Mohu Antenna. You will be extremely pleased.

Simply install the antenna as instructed. Once installed, use your tv's programming settings to broadcast "air". Don't use cable. Once you have selected air as your antenna setting, allow your tv to scan. It will list (according to your tv) all the channels it has acquired. You can and should continuously reposition the antenna and rescan until you receive your desired results. (I personally used suction cups to mount the antenna on walls, windows, etc. This allowed me endless possibilities for mounting and moving the antenna.)

I don't see why it should not. Most of your cell phones and related devices, with the exception of Apple and Apple-related products use the same hardware. As long as this is the case with the Alcatel Note, there should be absolutely no problem. You will be thoroughly satisfied.

As your question suggests: you are an Apple product user. I would suggest that you try the "AllCast App" instead. Samsung can be a bit iffy, and Samsung, like Apple, is very proprietary and doesn't play nicely with others.
