I really enjoyed this story and acting, but what really sets it apart is the production values and the visuals. This is some of the best 3D to date and I hope the director has more stories he'd like to share with us in the future. The 4K is also great. I only wish they'd find a way to make 4K and 3D available for the home marketplace. I have already recommended this film to many of my friends!

This film is a real gem, for it's turning of It's A Wonderful Life on it's head. Castings is first rate and real surprise for the director of the Rush Hour films. Nicolas Cage and Tea Leoni are perfectly cast in what should be a holiday classic!

I could care less about the colorized version that is included with this and the fact that the only real supplement happens to cover the colorization process is pretty pathetic. Fortunately, the producers elected to keep the original Black and White version intact and beautifully restored. I've always preferred this version to the more popular White Christmas film and will always recommend it over that film, but I'm just glad that both are now available to satisfy whatever type of fan you are. The sound reproduction is also excellent. Dialogue and lyrics are easily discerned for fans that wish to sing along. Enjoy!

Paramount/CBS is to be commended for having taken such good care of the original source elements, so they can be presented in such good fashion for fans of today's technology. While I still enjoyed this outing of the Dark Knight, I still prefer Mask of the Phantasm. It is store more accessible to the mainstream audience, where The Killing Joke is more for hardcore fans.It is much darker, the production values are quite a bit better and the transfer is light years ahead of the MotP DVD. I'd still recommend it, especially with Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamill reprising their roles. Would love to hear more of their work together!

Knowing that this material was not shot in HD, I knew there would only be minimal improvements in the picture quality from the DVD I already owned, but it has a slightly sharper image as well as better color and contrast. The biggest improvement was in sound. The Blu-ray is clearly light years ahead of the DVD in the sound department. Definitely would recommend this purchase for any serious Doctor Who fan.

This Pioneer BDR-XD05S external drive allows you to archive up to 128GB of data on BD-R QL media and up to 100GB of data on BD-R TL media, plus supports DVD and CD formats, so you can burn your favorite movies and music to discs.
Is this compatible with Macbook?
I use mine with a MacBook Pro. Be aware you need two available USB ports, as there is no external power supply. If found it useful for ripping CD3 and shaped CDs since this unit has a spindle and is not a slot load like most other USB writers these days.

does this drive, only work with a usb 3.0 pc input?
It actually requires two USB ports, not exactly sure why, but I have used it on two different MacBook Pros, one with USB 3.0 and one with USB 2.0. Both work flawlessly.

does it come with its own driver and/or does windows 8.1 reconize it as a blu-ray
It worked out the box for my Macs, and I do not recall if it came with a CD-ROM with firmware, but you download a Windows Driver utility from Pioneer's site.
