Purchased to replace a Fitbit One. And I can't say how much I love this band It is fairly accurate, matching my GPS driven Phone based fitness app within 5%. Battery is good for 5 days and Fitbit offers the option of an email/SMS alert when your battery is low.
The band is a standard watch style clasp rather than the compression tabs of previous models. It is comfortable and easily cleaned.
Word of warning. I purchased the 'large' version of the band, I don'thave large wrists by any extent of the imagination and I'm on the last hole.

It requires a smart phone to sync. Without a smart phone you would need a bluetooth capable computer in order to track your exercise off the tracker

does it track distance on a treadmill?
Yes, in that it will act as a pedometer. I've found mine to be highly accurate.

What happens if your Charge HR band breaks?
Since the display screen for the Charge HR is built into the band, what options are there, if any, should the band break?
If the band breaks, the entire fitbit must be replaced.

It's not an age thing, it's a size thing. My wife is in her fifties and wears the small wrist band.
