My cell phone is a busy device, but I grew weary of picking it up for every beep and buzz. Initially, I got the iWatch because I could preview, very conveniently, what the notification was... then I started to use the health functions, like breathing, exercise, and standing.
Not only am I moving more, my cell phone stays face down on my desk or in my pocket. There's something great about the haptic prompt on the iWatch that's much less jarring than the jingle, jangle, noise from my iPhone.
Why four stars? I'd rather have 3 to 4 days of battery instead of 2. And, while I like the 42mm face, it wouldn't hurt to shave a few millimeters off the thickness.
Try it... you'll like it... and it will grow on you.

The most interesting element of this movie was how the main character evolved from childhood into an adult. Given the savant nature of the main character, I found the cover for money-laundering weak--he would not have done it that way.
Unexpected relationships throughout the movie.

Jason Statham is a fun action and adventure actor. The stories he engages with range from dark (e.g. Wild Card) to fancy-free (e.g. Expendables); this movie is solidly in between the two extremes.
It is action-packed without being over the top and the character is credible.
Better than the first Mechanic, better than the Transporter franchise. But, do check out Jean Reno in his rendition of The Mechanic.

Michael Douglas is... well, Gordon Gecko redeeming himself as a scientist. Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lily have the beginnings of a great chemistry, and should be able to build that relationship out in subsequent releases in the Marvel Franchise.

I enjoy the Jack Reacher series of books and the few short stories. The movie is a typical action flick starring Action Guy (i.e. Tom Cruise). After the Mission Impossible franchise, Cruise, is well established as one of Tinsel Towns "goto" stars for action movies.
This movie itself lacked the depth and nuance of the first Jack Reacher. While there is opportunity for Reacher to define himself--add nuance to the character, the focus is on action.
For all that, still a decent escapist, action movie.

The beginning seems out of sync with the rest of the movie. Maybe the backstory was an ad how creation to align with the character from the comic. Once the movie establishes the premise for the character it finishes well.

It's no Siri, but works great as a central house controller. The "flash briefing" is a nice feature that allows you to get a morning update on all the news (e.g. CNN, BBC, Newsy, MSNBC, et al). It cannot do complicated commands like, "Alexa, set a reminder for next Tuesday, at 10 AM, to have me call my agent."
Be selective about what control accessories (i.e. light switches, cameras, thermostat) you select, many of them require enrollment in a third party website to establish a link with Alexa. Read the reviews, all of them, and stay with 4 star + products. If you are in-store, talk to a Geek.

Regardless of which outlet we plugged the pair of devices into, we could never get a better signal than "red," which is the lowest data rate. Plugging directly into the wall, an extension cord, or a power strip makes no difference [power strips may have metal-oxide surge suppressors which can reduce the effectiveness of the signal coupled into the powerline.]
Final solution was to purchase a Google-WiFi triple pack (we don't need a USB port on the router).

I watched the installation, and it seems possible to run it independently. The sidekick has its own electrical and plumbing, so it doesn't depend on the washer for filling nor draining. One issue to check is the warranty condition: does it require that a waster be on top of it to fulfill the warranty requirements?

It can run independently. We often use it that way. Note that it has its own plumbing and electrical. Make sure your outlet in the laundry room, which is usually a single 30 amp three-prong, is either changed to a double-outlet or you have an adapter that can handle the current if both waster and sidekick are running.

Will this work with other brands of washers ie, sear Kenmore
It is a self-contained unit, with its own plumbing and power cord. It is the same dimensions as the standard LG sheet metal pedestal. Where you could run into an issue is that the other brand does not have the same "engagement" points as the LG. Functionally, it should be an issue--the trick is in the mechanical engagement.

What are the dimensions?
The unit is the same dimensions as the pedestal. It operates as a pull-out drawer with a pop-up lid. If you have enough room to open the washer door above it you'll have enough room for the pull-out. If you are buying the washer, which comes with its own hoses, I'd recommend buying upgraded hoses for the washer and use the washer hoses for the sidekick.
