Sandisk: quality, speed, and reliability

Not much I can say here as SD cards are pretty much commonplace now, but Sandisk's cards (in my experience) have been the best, most reliable cards I've used. I've had one bad card in perhaps a few dozen from Sandisk, and to me, that's not bad. This card is also fast, writes up to around 70-80MB/s depending on the device it's being used in. I use it in my Nikon DSLR and it seems to get about 70MB/s write. Be aware of the write-speeds of SD cards, though. The advertised speed is the READ speed, and most cards will have high read speeds. It's the WRITE speeds you should be more concerned about as they are generally lower than the read speeds unless you are buying a real-high-end card.

Works. Does what it should. I am a bit disappointed that the Sony RX100 has such bad battery life i had to buy a spare so I could get a decent number of shots while on vacation (the battery only lasts for about 250-280 shots per charge) which is fine if you use it occasionally but i wanted to use it on vacation, so I had to buy another battery (this one). Price was fine, just annoyed that the RX100 has poor battery life to require more than one for serious shooting.

Probably not the best out there ,but for $10, it does what its supposed to do, which is help you clean your lenses and camera mirror (for SLR/DSLR cameras). I would also get some wipes (designed for cameras and lenses) and a blower bulb as well and you should be good to go for lens and basic camera cleaning (mirror).

This is truely a great lens, and a must for any serious photographer. Offers a nice "Standard" view of your scene, nice fast aperature at wide open (f1.8) and closes all the way down to f/22 (depending on the body and the amount of light, among other things). But nonetheless, makes a great portrait lens or general walk-around lens. Lightweight.

This case offers great protection for the RX100, but can be cumbersome to get on and off, especially if you are in a hurry, but otherwise does it's job and protects the vital components of the camera. Never used the neckstrap myself, as I never use those on a small cameras.

Great Sandisk Quality, not as fast as Pro/Extreme

Overall, great quality from SAnDisk. But keep in mind these are not as fast (Write speeds) as the Extreme/Extreme Plus/Pro/Pro Plus cards. They are fine for general use (tablets, phones, computers, and entry level DSLRs) but when using a DSLR, they won't work as fast when burst shooting (Taking a series of pictures) as the card's write speed is too slow for most intermediate/pro photography. But these cards are reliable, nonetheless and are cheaper than the Extreme/Extreme Plus/Pro cards. So if price is a factor, these will be fine, but if you can afford it, get the Extreme/Extreme Plus or Pro cards instead, especially if you're using a Pro-level DSLR, or for other activites that require fast write/read speeds.

I guess there isn't much I can say here, other than it does what it should and is decently priced. Gigabit Ethernet switch technology has become mature for sure by now, so this one is really no different than the others. i just like the Netgear brand for networking equipment (most of their products, at least--there are some that I'm not fond of, but for wired networking, I generally get Netgear switches).

This camera offers features that would rival an entry-level DSLR camera or mirrorless. This is perhaps the best point-and-shoot you can buy. It is a bit expensive, so even an entry-level DSLR or mirrorless will be cheaper, but this one easily fits in your pocket, offers 12-bit RAW support, and does 4K video shooting plus it has a EVF (electronic view finder, which DSLR users will like). I only wish it had an external hot-shoe flash mount, and that the lens would support apertures beyond f/11. But other than that, it's worth the money. DSLRs (in my opinion) will still remain king for the near future, but if you want something you can pocket easily and take anywhere, this is it. The price is a bit to swallow, but after using it, I'm sure you won't mind after you see what this little camera can do. I would have also like to see a second/dual SD card slots, or perhaps microSD card slots.

I've always used Sandisk memeory cards, and out of several dozen, I've had maybe one or two that have gone bad, which is pretty good. I've had worse luck with other brands, but Sandisk comes first for me (then probably SamSung and then Kingston). I would avoid PNY as I've had issues with their USB drives going bad over time (a year or two). But SAndisk hasn't really filed me (other than the one card that went bad after 3 years of heavy use--which was somewhat to be expected honestly). I use these in a high-end DSLR and wouldn't consider anything else for that camera or purpose.

I purchased an adaptor and it worked excellent with my old MacBook. I purchased a new MacBook Air this year and the connect from this to the projector is very fuzzy. Is there something I am missing. I thought maybe a new port would help with the Macbook
YOu may want to try adjusting the resolution on the new MacBook. IN particular, the screen resolution it uses on the external monitor, as some computers (macs included) can have a different resolution for external displays, and a separate resolution for the internal built-in display, so it sounds like you're running a very low resolution on the external monitor. Increase the resolution in your Display settings on the MacBook and that should solve your problem. If not, then you may have a defective DVI cable or the port on your MacBook might be defective or the contacts are dirty.
(Sorry I see you have a projector. The same stuff applies, but you'll need to find out what your projector's native resolution is).

What does the Microsoft Surface Dock do?
It basically allows you to set the tablet into it, and it allows you to connect more devices to the tablet (as the dock acts as a port-expansion system, so you can have it plugged into your TV, an external hard drive, keyboard, mouse, etc). Plus the dock should charge the tablet as well, while it's being used in the dock as well. Not sure if the dock is worth the price they ask for it. There are cheaper USB 3.0 alternatives out there that do the same thing for a fraction of the cost. But that's basically what the dock does--lets you plug more devices into it (you plug the devices into the docking station, and then slide the tablet into the docking station and the devices are then connected to the tablet while it is docked).

What kind of ssd does this have and is it upgradeable?
It has a built-in (soldered on) M.2 SATA drive, which is NOT upgradable. You will destroy the tablet trying to get it apart as much of it is actually glued together, and there are a ton of small screws. Not worth trying to upgrade even if you could because the chances of damaging the LCD is very good.

Does it run google play? I have games on kindle and le pan that i still want.
Probably won't run Google PLay as that is only available on Android (as far as I know). You would need to download the games from the MIcrosoft Store if they are available, or purchase the PC version of the games if they are available, but i don't think Google Play is available on Windows (last I checked).

It says 256GB storage. Is that similar to a hard drive so i can add on an additional microsd card or is that in fact using the microsd card slot.
The 256GB advertised is the SSD (internal hard drive). It is like using a microSD card (which you can use as well in the tablet--there is a small slot under the fold-out stand in the back). You won't get the full 256GB of space on the internal SSD as some of it used by the operating system, so you may see about 220GB upon unboxing and starting it up for the first time. Still plenty of room for most people. But you can add a 256GB microSD card to the slot in the back to add storage. It won't be as fast, but should be fast enough for storing files, watching movies, etc.

Can the surface pro 4 run itunes successfully?
Yes it can, providing that when you install it, no error occur. But yes, iTunes should work on the Surface Pro 4 (or any version of the Surface Pro---1, 2, 3 or 4, as well as the Surface 3 [non pro version]).

Are there any encryption programs on the surface pro 4 256 gb Intel i5?
In case the unit is stolen, what kind of protection is there in the form of encryption?
I think BitLocker comes as part of Windows 10 Pro, which comes on the Pro versions of the Surface Tablets. This will allow you to encrypt the drive. You can also try other free programs, such as TrueCrypt, which is an open source cryptograophy system encrypting hard drives and files.
