There is a limit to all motherboards. Do your do diligence and research yours not just for how fast but for how many and how big it can handle. The reason it should be used on a SATA 3 Motherboard is the amount storage it has to access to find a file written on it. Yes a SATA 3 will work on a SATA 2 motherboard. But why?
